Chapter 60. Who is She?

Mira's POV.  I couldn't help but have a feeling of deja vu. Just a while ago, I was undoubtedly happy, for a reason I couldn't make sense out of, I wondered why getting married to a man who was not my husband made me happy, something in me leaped for joy, I felt like I wanted to be with him, I was beyond doubt happy to hear their suggestion, but then I felt like something would go wrong if we get married, I couldn't make sense of why I felt that way but I can tell this feeling wasn't a good one. How strange. Everything was going fast. Ethan was at first against the idea, of course he believed that we would one day return back to his father especially since he was going to have a sibling soon, seeing how his father was risking a lot to protect him in the pretense of neglecting him, he was bound to side with his father, and I did too, but

Chapter 61. Her Replacement.

While using the brother's little trip as an excuse, I took my time to go on countless dates with Ted. The only one who knew about what I was doing was Martha, even still it was hard to convince her to see where I was coming from. She agreed not because she finally understood but because she didn't have a say. I told him my husband and I were to get divorced soon, so Ted didn't seem to have a problem with me being married, and also didn't mind me having a child and being with another, I felt unhappy regardless of how hard he tried and I couldn't decide. Did I want to continue with this marriage and occupy him with my family while he still grieves, or serve as a replacement, I've decided now, whatever happens this time happens, I'll take anything that comes my way without question.         As I made my w

Chapter 62. Confession.

I sat down on a chair, waiting for her to awake, its effects should die off soon and I would be bound to explain myself, but I was prepared for that much. Slowly she woke up, looking around only for her to realize where she was, I began to take back every word I said about being prepared to face her. I couldn't speak as our eyes met and only shrink in fear, of course the first attempt she made was to try to reach out and then she finally realized what was going on.  She looked at the rope and then her hand and then me. During her long nap I had tied her hands with a rope and then tied the rope behind the chair, so she couldn't move. She struggled and when she came to a realization that she couldn't break free she yelled. "What is this?"        At that very moment I lost my words and panicked. "

Chapter 63. Would You Still Love Me The Same.

We couldn't go all the way because of the baby, and ended up sleeping while holding hands. Well she was asleep and not me. Seeing how deeply she slept, I took my coat and rushed outside. I wanted to confirm for myself and start running, I didn't want to use my speed, I just wanted to exercise my muscles a bit and I wanted to take my time to reach there. Hahh. I breathed a sigh of relief when I had finally arrived at that spot. There at the three were Rebecca and I had met for the first time, at the same spot where we planted a tree after meeting after many years stood the man I was waiting for. "You came Emerald." With a grin on his face, he tilted his head and stood inches apart from the tree.         "Daniel. So it was you." To think he has me fooled by his new appearance, to think the man who was fl

Chapter 64. The Deal Maker.

It was a peaceful walk in the park and it was perfect. All I wanted was to make her happy so that she forgets that there was once a time. I took a seat on the bench while she helped herself to get whatever she wanted, constantly waving back at me when she had the chance, and I constantly smiling and waving back at her, but that wasn't why I wanted to come out, he was. "It's not going to work Emerald, you can't cheat death. She's gonna die, whether you like it or not. Haven't you wondered, why she was alive in the first place." Right next to me was someone who was without a doubt powerful to an extent, the problem is he's been sticking to me a lot lately and only I could see him, the being responsible for the illusions in my head, and the only one who had answered my questions. The Deal maker. "Aren't you curious, the woman you love so much is right before your eyes, not just that but you also met her brother, doesn't that even bother you, don't you re

Chapter 65. The Tiny One.

As time flew by, Mira's stomach began to rise, her pregnancy had become obvious and the neighbourhood came over with gifts. She was surrounded with smiles, so it was a good environment for her and the baby. Little by little, her ability to walk decreased, and although it was not as bad as when she had Ethan, it was still difficult for her to continue with her daily life. Ethan on the other hand seemed to be more worried about her situation than I was, during the weekdays he slept beside his mothers bed and never let her be without help, on time I had caught him with his ears glued to his mothers belly as he listened to the baby, and when I asked what he was doing he asked me to be quiet so I wouldn't wake her up. Thanks to her condition, Ethan's hate for me slowly died while I tried my hardest to prove to him how much I loved her, but it still wasn't enough to earn his full trust.  She h

Chapter 66. A Walking Killing Machine.

The brothers, as inseparable as they were, grew with love from their mother and with assistance of their adopted father which was I. Wherever one went, the other followed without worry. Thomans as he was called, never left the arms of his brother. Ethan carried his brother everywhere without letting anyone else touch or hold him, I began to see light in Ethan's eyes as he guarded and treated his brother like an egg, however, some fate could not be changed.  I began to notice some strange behaviour from Ethan, and I guess Mira had noticed it too. The child was distancing himself as he grew. At the age of 9, Ethan who was mad but a single friend who was the son of the principal had started sleeping over at his place. I didn't mind his actions, he was growing and had just made a friend so it was natural to value that friend. At age 10. Eth

Chapter 67. Who Are You?

A series of event flash right before my eyes, I feel Ethan shaking as I scan through his future, but Ethan suddenly breaks free from me, as I open my eyes I find Ethan withdrawing and clenching his chest, panting and waiting, cold sweat dripping, which I wouldn't mind, but it was winter, there was no way anyone could sweat like that during winter, "you, you're a monster." Those words hurt more than he could ever imagine, but the eleven year old did not lie. The more I tried to approach him to calm down, the more he backed away from me, he closed his eyes and hid in a corner.          Seeing his reaction reminds me that there will always be people who fear me. "Ha, have it your way then." What was I thinking, there was no way anyone who saw what he did would think less of me. Putting on my gloves, Ethan slowly opened his eyes, staring at me while I pretended
