Accepting the Pack Life

Aricka followed Gregory into the living area to find Evan scrolling through channels on a TV that was hidden within a built-in cabinet.  “Oh, hi mom you look better.”          “Joyce, David this is my mate, Aricka Daniels and her pup, Evan.  Were you able to get the books?”          “Oh, yes.  Here they are.  I assume Evan is the pup we are here to discuss?”  Gregory motioned the two to sit as he took the books and handed them to Evan.           “Yes, now he is seven almost eight years old.  He has been raised by his mother here whom until a few days ago did not know of our existence.  Now to complicate things Evan is an early bloomer and has not only been shif

Meet the Monster-In-Law

Aricka finally got both Gregory and Evan out of the apartment and where they needed to be. It turned out that the kids hadn’t moved from where they had been playing from earlier, so Evan easily found them and returned to play with them.  He even remembered to tell Michael he needed to tag along for school tomorrow too. She watched the pups as they huddled around Evan, who looked the books he’d been given and all the pups had to give him their sage advice about it all as only the young can do.            With that done Aricka

Dinner at the Wolversen’s

Gregory led his father into the sunroom which was towards the back of the house.  He remembered them eating meals out here as a pup before his mother had taken over the space claiming now that they were gone it would be wasted space.  But he knew she loved the sun and airy feel of the plants.  It meant even on rainy days she was warm, dry and in nature. Truthfully, Gregory has always wanted to give other rooms in the pack house a similar treatment but had never had the time to work out exactly how he would achieve this.  &

Presentations ans Plans

The night finally started to wind down so Aricka went in search of Bridget to tell her that she’d like to see the women she chose in the main sitting area.  After all, she didn’t have an office of her own or anything like that.  She also didn’t like taking them into her apartment as it seemed too intimate. Finding Bridget, Aricka told her that she would be in the sitting room so that any of the women could come and see her there.  She was exhausted and just wanted to sit down.  It had been yet another very long day with so much going on.  It felt like every day here

War on the Horizon

The pups had been found outside the ballroom on a patio, lounging in Adirondack chairs chattering to each other and making plans upon plans for tomorrow.  “Okay, munchkins it’s bedtime who is sleeping where?”  Aricka clapped her hands and said rather loudly to a chorus of groans.  Smiling she picked up a little sleeping girl and waited for the others to follow her in.                 After entering the ballroom again, the sleeping pup was taken by a rather happy mother. She quickly disappeared from Aricka’s sight to she assumed to get the little pup tucked into bed.

The Start of History in the Making

“I’ll see if I can talk to your mother and Hilda.  I’m sure we can find something we can use to make it happen. I don’t need anything big or fancy.  Just enough space, where I can keep track of everything.  Let’s go downstairs, I want to be there when Evan gets there.  Will you mostly be in the office today?”                “At least the morning.  I want to make sure our mundane holdings are running smoothly while my father contacts the other factions and builds a schedule of them arriving.

An Office is Born

Aricka found Hilda in the corner of the kitchens at a small cramped desk typing away at a tablet and making notes. “Oh, I’m sorry I’ll come back when you aren’t so busy.”                “No, no, I need you here. What colour scheme do you have in mind?” Hilda smiled as she gave Aricka a hurried glance before going back to her rapid typing.                 “Colour scheme?  For what?”                 “Your office, of course.  Edith didn’t give that to me.  I need to know what your colour scheme to select a

The Calm Before the Storm

Aricka and Yolanda finally entered the sitting room to find the five women sitting around the room.  They were all trying to ignore each other. It was an uncomfortable situation within this room.  Aricka thought it was odd that they were so cold to each other after everything she had been told about the groups and had seen with the group Evan was in.            “I don’t expect you all to agree with each other.  But, if you have chosen to work help me then I expect you to be at the very least civil with each other while working with me. Now, we don&rsq

The Twists Keep Coming

As fall approached it was getting darker outside earlier as each night passed.  The dream realm was always dark to some extent, but it too reflected the seasonal changes somewhat.  Many would detest this, but he embraced it.  Now, was the time he could move about peeking in on those still in the physical world and unaware of the evil so close to them.                  So, with the world getting more hostile against him, he had decided that instead of putting himself in danger by peeking at them, he now sat back in the comfort of the old cabin petting the rotting c

Early Arrivals

Everyone in the office looked stunned at the cellphone held out in Edith’s hand as if it had grown tentacles or some such craziness.  Aricka’s eyes flicked from the phone to Edith’s face and back again before she said, “Hello?”            A quiet sob was heard coming from the phone as everyone listened. “Freddy! Frederick, you need to pick up your line now. You hear me. You need to hear this and you won’t say a word until it’s over.”
