Hadiza"Along the way we both got attached and fell in love. I want to thank you for everything, Bayo. I would not have been opportuned to meet your brother if you didn't do all these shenanigans." I added, smiling widely. After I left my father's house, I came home directly, having it in mind to confront Bayo. But I got the shock of my life when I eavesdropped on him and Abdul's heated conversations. I heard everything, starting from the dare part. I didn't really know whether to feel elated or depressed over the revelation of all the things Bayo did. "I will be sending  the divorce papers soon." I said, walking out of the room and out of the house.****** "A dare? I don't get." My dad said, scratching his stubbles. After I walked out of my house, I went directly back to my house, I couldn't stand a minute with Bayo, his presence alone was annoying and irritating

Bonus Chapter [Chiziterem 1]

Darkness beffiting the quiet night, shinning little stars and then the full bright moon, that was what I could see in the dark sky. I was sitting on the pavement outside my house, a self contained apartment. I drummed my fingers on my laps as I hummed a familiar tune my grandmother taught me when I was still a child.  As a little child, I loved listening to folktales under the moonlight, but now that I'm all grown up, I quenched my anger for good stories by reading novels. Yes, I am bookish. A bookworm, I love reading books, good books. Maybe that was what pushed me into writing, my passion for writing was something that grew up with me and also still lives within me. I look forward to being a well known writer like, Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie, the late legend; Chinua Achebe, Nnedi Okorafor, Wole Soyinka, Colleen Hoover, Ted dekker, Sidney sheldon, Dean Koontz and so many others. I don't think I have ever seen anyone who reads wi

Bonus Chapter [Chiziterem 3]

Chiziterem The day was beautiful after the bone chilling rain of last night. The sky was still looking beautiful. I got out of the uber car, admiring the clear blue sky. After I told Principal Andrews about my decision and requested for a sabbatical break like Kene adviced. He called me smart and granted my request immediately. So imagine the joy on my face right now. I was right in front of the Okorie's magneficieng mansion. The house was that huge. I even felt small, whoever designed or built the mansion really tried, it shows the inhabitants of the house lived an Ostentacious style of living. I knocked on the huge black gate at the entrance of the building. "Who is there?" A deep voice called out. "A visitor." I replied, rolling my eyes. "Does the visitor not have a name?" The voice shouted, opening the gate.

Bonus Chapter [Chiziterem 4]

The chirps of the morning birds roused me up from sleep. I yawned loudly, stretching myself lazily. I opened my eyes widely, closing it back immediately and opening it again.  I couldn't recognize where I was, the room looked strange to me. where am I? Or have I been kidnapped? "Good morning." a voice called out, I jolted out of the bed. "Calm down," Mr Okorie said, chuckling loudly. He was in a pair of grey joggers and a black sweat shirt. He sat comfortably on the nude oversized seater at the far end of the room. "What am I doing here?" I asked, going back to sit at the edge of the bed. "You don't remember?" he asked. "Oh!" I said out loud, as everything that happened resurfaced. "I should take my leave now." I whisphered, getting up from the bed. "You actually look cute in your sleep." he said, smirki

Bonus Chapter [Chiziterem 5]

I've been avoiding Mr Okorie for the past two hours, this mansion was warning me off or something.  I silently prayed he doesn't come into the study room till I'm gone. "Are you hiding from my dad?" Mary asked, raising an eyebrow. "No," I replied, laughing awkwardly. "Why would I?" I asked. "I don't know, I'm just assuming." She replied, "There will be a party here tomorrow, I don't know if my father told you." she added. I didn't reply, I just shook my head in a negative response.  "Are you in love with my dad?" she asked all of a sudden. "What! What gave you this idea? Like, I've known your dad for how many days now." She just stared at me without saying another word. "You know what? Lets just resume today's work." I said, breaking off the silence.

Bonus Chapter [Chiziterem 6]

The ride to my house was quite, only the music playing in the car stereo could be heard. I gave Mr Okorie the directions to my house, he drove carefully along the untarred road of my street. I was kind of embarrased as the car kept bumping into pot holes. "Sorry__" he said, as I almost bumped my head against the dashboard.  "No, I should be the one apologizing. This road is not suitable for your car." I replied. "What type of road is suitable in this country?" he asked. "I really don't know." I replied, laughing loudly. "That is my house over there, you can park the car right close it." I said softly. "Got it!" he replied. I watched him manoever his way like a pro, before he finally parked. "Thank you, David." I said, opening the door and getting out. "You are welcome," He replied.&nb

The atmosphere in my parents house was not as tensed as I thought it would be, the house was full. Grandchildren and daughter in laws surrounded my parent, my dad looked so happy as he played with his grandchildren, the triplets too were clearly having fun. I looked at my mum to find her already glaring at me. I looked away, groaning. I can't blame her though, I'm her first child and I'm still as single as a pringle. She was expecting me to come here with a man but I came here empty handed. Dumbi's girlfriend wasn't even what I was expecting, one thing about Dumbi was that he likes his girls voluptuous, very big with the right quantity of curves in the right places, but what I was seeing was absolutely different, the girl was tiny and she looked small. But she was really beautiful. I wonder if she knows how many rival she has. My dad is a retired soldier and my mum a retired nurse. Those two played a greater role in what I today.&nbs

I had it in mind to avoid Mr Okorie after what happened between us few days ago. I just wasn't ready to face him yet, how was I to look at his face after what happened. "Are you okay ma'm?" Mary asked, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Yes," I replied, nodding my head. She looked at me for a long time, it was clearly obvious she didn't believe me.  "Are you sure? because you look lost." she said. "I'm okay mary." I replied. "Well lets do something to keep your mind off whatever you are thinking." "What about you asking me some questions?" she asked. "Hmmm..hmmm...hmmm." I mumbled out audibly. "Sure, that is a great idea." I said clearly. "So start." she ordered. I raised an eyebrow up as I thought about the questions to ask. "Is Mr
