Bonus chapter 9

"Wow, what a good storyteller" Tatiana said as she came into the kitchen, still clapping her hands. I have feeling she must have been outside for a while. "Tatiana, enough of this. Stay out of this. I'm here discussing with my wife. Whatever she tells me is not of your business, I asked for it and I choose to believe it." Kene said, facing Tatiana.  I watched Tatiana as she moved round the kitchen, I could read the anger in her eyes.  "What am I? I'm I not your wife too?" she asked Kene. I felt tempted to scream 'No' but I had to restrain the urge.  "I don't know, that's what you told me, that is what you made me believe," "But I don't think I can stoop so low to marry a second wife, I know our daughter looks exactly like me, but what I don't understand is how," "The truth is I don't trust you Tatiana, I don't know why but

Years later.  "Mum, I need your help over here, please. I have a speech to deliver on Social's day. " Tami my sixteen years old daughter shouted. I chuckled softly as I gently untangled myself from Kene's hold. He groaned in protest. "Anytime I am enjoying my wife's company, that little girl keeps disturbing." he moaned. "Stop acting like a big baby," I whispered, pecking him on his lips. "And you know she hates it when you call her little." I whispered, slapping his hands that were cupping my breasts away.  I walked out of our room barefooted, heading over to my daughters room to have a mother to daughter conversation with her. She was probably about to tell my crush. I believe parents, most especially mothers are meant to and should establish a good communication channel with their children. They must be able to express

Bonus chapter [Ada 1]

Jobs! One of the things that were hard to get in Nigeria was a job. My heart kept beating fast as I awaited my interview, in a few minutes time I will be called into the CEO's office and that scared me senselessly.  Unlike others applicants, my interview was different. I was to be interviewed by the CEO of Ian's company, since I applied for the position of a personal secretary. I looked around the waiting room, shivering a bit. I glanced around with an impatient frown on my face. A young man in grey tuxedo came in, holding tightly to a newspaper. I could see his face was striking. The wide cheek bones and sensuous lips were noticeable. His eyebrows and lashes were as dark as his hair. I couldn't help but imagine, does he have wife? Or was he engaged? My curiosity was just aroused.  Then unexpectedly, he looked up and our eyes met. His eyes didn't have a moody or bored look. They were sharply alert, a tremour ran through my spine at

Bonus chapter [Ada 2]

In spite of the rate of unemployment in the country, I still got a job and not just an ordinary job. A job in one of the top five companies in Nigeria.  A personal secretary to Mr Ian, the CEO of the well known Ian's companies. The man who has chains of a plethora of businesses in Nigeria. After an hectic preparation of making sure I was looking smoking hot for the club's outing and getting things ready for tomorrow's resumption. I was ready to go out to party. I was wearing a silver glittering mini gown and a black knee strap boots, with my black hair running down my shoulders in a curly wave. I applied a dark red lipstick to my lips to touch up my makeup. I looked perfect, the eyeliner brought out my almond shaped eyes. I flipped my hair over my right shoulder.  I looked smoking hot, I giggled as I practiced seduction.  "It's time to party." I muttered under my breath.

Bonus chapter [Ada 3]

Reluctantly I pulled into the parking space and dragged my feet all the way in the front door of the gaping company tower. Ian and Co was boldly written at the frontal part of the massive looking company. Thanks to Chi who allowed me to make use of her car when mine developed an unforeseen fault this morning, or else I would not have been able to get to the company as early as this.  A couple of staffs stood talking in the lobby as I opened the door, conversation instantly stopped as they artlessly stared at me as I entered. I kept walking with my head raised high, I continued through the foyer and into the open area of the so called main office, as soon as people saw me, a collective hush grew. I suddenly wished I could melt into the floor. I walked cautiously to the CEO's office, ignoring the alarming look on the secretary's office as she tried to stop me.  "Good morning, Mr Ian." I said breaking into his thoughts.

Bonus chapter [Ada 4]

Two weeks later.  "I think Mr Ian is just jealous or he has an issue with Mr Adams," I said to Chi, as she kept chewing slices of breads and mayonnaise.  "I agree with that, or maybe he doesn't really know the actual meaning of flirting. Maybe you need to teach him." Chi replied with her mouth full.  "He has been getting on my nerves for days, when he's not my boyfriend, he's just too possessive, he keep forgetting he is just my boss," "Anytime he sees me talking to one of the male workers, he then starts crucifying me. I think he's bipolar cause what else explains his mood swings." I shouted, complaining bitterly to Chi.  "See just leave that man, at least he's paying you. But maybe he likes you." She replied me winking.  "Are you serious? Chi, please don't make me laugh. What does he want to like about me? We have fine girls, rich d

I left home after calling Mr Adams back to inform him I wouldn't be able to make it due to some unforeseen circumstances, I could sense the disappointment in his voice, but there was nothing I could do.  Chi tried to convince me not to go making different thoughts and opinions, most especially scary ones. But I ignored her, she left when she realised I wasn't going to listen to her. I stared widely at Ian's huge mansion, hoping I didn't make a mistake coming here. I felt out of place as I proceeded to step in, a young man in black suit stepped out before I could even get closer.  "Follow me ma'am." he said in a rich baritone voice. I followed the man into the compound, my mouth opened wide on its own accord, the mansion was beautiful, like too magnificent. It spelt sophistication. I just hoped I won't get lost.  Men in black suits could be seen standing at differen

Bonus chapter [Ada 6]

I avoided Mr Ian completely after the hot forbidden kiss we shared last week, how was I supposed to face him, maybe act like nothing happened between us, was that even possible? I kissed my boss, I freaking kissed my boss, not like I initiated it but I somehow initiated it.  I've been hiding since morning, most especially in the ladies powder room, making sure I didn't cross paths with Mr Ian.  "What have you been up to? " a voice asked behind me, I flinched in fear with my heart racing fast.  "You are acting as if you have been seeing a ghost." The voice which belonged to the receptionist added.  "Thelma!" I exclaimed.  "For crying out loud, what is wrong with you?" I whispered yelled. "Do you just go about scaring people?" I asked in anger. She raised an eyebrow, rolling her eyes with an I don't care attitude. &

Chi was sitting on my bed with her eye glasses at the tip of her nose. I cleared my throat loudly, taking a gulp of water from the water bottle on the desk at arm's length to my bed.  "Stop wasting my time, Ada." Chi shouted impatiently. I rolled my eyes backwards at her reaction. "Calm down, Madam." I replied, looking at her with a smile on my face.  "We kissed," I whispered softly, looking elsewhere but her face.  "You kissed? Who did you kiss?" she asked, sitting up on the bed. I faced palmed, sighing heavily.  "I kissed him, like we kissed." I explained.  "Who is the person you kissed? You are just saying you kissed, tell me who? You say him? Is it an her you want to kiss before?" she asked me.  "But wait, you kissed Mr Adams? But I thought you cancelled your date with him because of that your bipolar bos

Bonus chapter [Ada 8]

I got to the office today with a very huge part of me hoping to see Mr Ian. I don't know where all this was coming from, but I can't help it, a greater part of what runs through my mind was Mr Ian, when I close my eyes all I see is Mr Ian, when I open them I see Mr Ian. I sighed heavily as I went through my duties quietly. The work loads seems to be much this morning, since Mr Ian called in sick. I had to reschedule all his meetings and appointments for today and it wasn't a small thing. It was stressful since I had to make sure I didn't miss anyone out. I tried my best not to make the disappointed expression on my face too obvious for the world to see, but I guess it was glaring to one person in particular, that's no other person than Thelma. "Ada! " Thelma called out, barging to my office with a styrofoam cup of coffee.  "Don't tell me you are missing Mr Ian?" she asked wiggling her eyebrows in a funny way.
