I left home after calling Mr Adams back to inform him I wouldn't be able to make it due to some unforeseen circumstances, I could sense the disappointment in his voice, but there was nothing I could do.

Chi tried to convince me not to go making different thoughts and opinions, most especially scary ones. But I ignored her, she left when she realised I wasn't going to listen to her. I stared widely at Ian's huge mansion, hoping I didn't make a mistake coming here.

I felt out of place as I proceeded to step in, a young man in black suit stepped out before I could even get closer.

"Follow me ma'am." he said in a rich baritone voice.

I followed the man into the compound, my mouth opened wide on its own accord, the mansion was beautiful, like too magnificent. It spelt sophistication. I just hoped I won't get lost.

Men in black suits could be seen standing at differen

I avoided Mr Ian completely after the hot forbidden kiss we shared last week, how was I supposed to face him, maybe act like nothing happened between us, was that even possible? I kissed my boss, I freaking kissed my boss, not like I initiated it but I somehow initiated it. I've been hiding since morning, most especially in the ladies powder room, making sure I didn't cross paths with Mr Ian."What have you been up to? " a voice asked behind me, I flinched in fear with my heart racing fast."You are acting as if you have been seeing a ghost." The voice which belonged to the receptionist added."Thelma!" I exclaimed."For crying out loud, what is wrong with you?" I whispered yelled."Do you just go about scaring people?" I asked in anger. She raised an eyebrow, rolling her eyes with an I don't care attitude.&

Chi was sitting on my bed with her eye glasses at the tip of her nose. I cleared my throat loudly, taking a gulp of water from the water bottle on the desk at arm's length to my bed."Stop wasting my time, Ada." Chi shouted impatiently. I rolled my eyes backwards at her reaction."Calm down, Madam." I replied, looking at her with a smile on my face."We kissed," I whispered softly, looking elsewhere but her face."You kissed? Who did you kiss?" she asked, sitting up on the bed. I faced palmed, sighing heavily."I kissed him, like we kissed." I explained."Who is the person you kissed? You are just saying you kissed, tell me who? You say him? Is it an her you want to kiss before?" she asked me."But wait, you kissed Mr Adams? But I thought you cancelled your date with him because of that your bipolar bos

I got to the office today with a very huge part of me hoping to see Mr Ian. I don't know where all this was coming from, but I can't help it, a greater part of what runs through my mind was Mr Ian, when I close my eyes all I see is Mr Ian, when I open them I see Mr Ian. I sighed heavily as I went through my duties quietly. The work loads seems to be much this morning, since Mr Ian called in sick. I had to reschedule all his meetings and appointments for today and it wasn't a small thing. It was stressful since I had to make sure I didn't miss anyone out.I tried my best not to make the disappointed expression on my face too obvious for the world to see, but I guess it was glaring to one person in particular, that's no other person than Thelma."Ada! " Thelma called out, barging to my office with a styrofoam cup of coffee."Don't tell me you are missing Mr Ian?" she asked wiggling her eyebrows in a funny way.

What happened at Mr Ian's mansion, you might be wondering, but the repercussion of it was right in my hand in form of a pregnancy skit test, which was showing me two glaring lines, meaning I was pregnant. I sat on the floor, immediately hugging myself tightly as if I was cold."What did I get myself into." I thought.I thought it was just the flu, but coming to think about it, is this all what the whisperings and stares at the office was all about. How am I going to go through this. Abortion was totally out of it, I still carry the guilt of killing Dumbi's child just because I didn't want to be labelled as one of his baby mamas. But honestly I did it because a part of me believed Kene could still be mine.I breathed heavily, different thoughts, most especially ones that had something to do with my wrong doings, slashed through my mind like a two edged sword. The long time wounds began to open up and it

I've never been this nervous before, I submitted my resignation letter this morning, I know Chi would be so mad at me, but the thing was that I already made up my mind. The last thing I wanted was for Mr Ian to find out about my pregnancy. I dragged my feet down to the powder room slowly, ignoring the curious look the staffs were giving, they could say hurtful things behind my back but definitely can't say it to my face, cowards and rumour carriers.I sighed heavily as I doused my face with water."Are you fine? " a familiar voice asked, I turned around to find Thelma behind me."Yes," I whispered softly."Are you sure? " she asked again."Yes, I am. " I replied looking away."Okay, but if you need anyone to talk to. I'm here for you." she replied, tapping my shoulder before exiting the room.&nb

I sat down in the mini eatery I owned reminiscing as I watched what was going on around the eatery, my staffs could be seen going about their tasks dutifully, the cleaners were mopping the hard white tiles, while the waiters were of course taking orders from the customers that kept piling in.The eatery was a sight to behold, it wasn't that big but it was beautiful, the coloured chairs and tables added a touch of sophistication to it. One of the reasons why we get crowds everyday most particularly workers on their Iaunch breaks was because of the homely feeling the eatery had, it has the charms of drawing people in.I fiddled with my fingers most especially the one that should be bearing an engagement ring, I sighed heavily, breathing in softly. A Nollywood movie was playing on the large TV set that dwafted one to the seat. One of the famous Nollywood actress could be seen gesticulating on the screen, I recognized the movie as th

If I hadn't come earlier to the eatery to try out a new recipe, I would not have seen her. Something about her gripped my gaze. With a quick step she walked through the foyer of the eatery, she had this eager kind of look on her face, she was not even paying attention to the weird stares she got from the workers. I was on my way to the small kitchen when I noticed her.I smiled to myself, she was an absolute welcome diversion, appreciatively I noticed her hour glass figure and her voluptuous curves, she was tall and her figure was'nt that set off by her well fitted cream suit and flat shoes. But she was very okay. I find it hard to believe I didn't notice how pretty she was until now. Her hair a black Afro was braided and parked up in a bun.I couldn't believe I ignored her entirely, without showing any form of interest, even though she chased and chased. I stared at her, watching her to discreetly to see what she was

The music 'There is fire on the mountain' by a popular Nigerian musician emanated from the compact disc player in my car. I sang along furiously. I was angry, very angry at the federal government of Nigeria. I switched off the disc player and increased the volume of the radio. An angry voice could be heard."The police that are meant to be protecting the citizens of the country are the ones molesting us and causing us harms. Imagine, they were even shooting at the youths during yesterday's peaceful protest. So many life's were lost yesterday. Yet the government has not done anything about it, what is happening in Nigeria?" The feminine voice asked the radio presenter.I tightened my fist in anger, watching all those videos of how the so called police treated the youths of this country.Absolute rubbish."I understand you, I clearly understand y
