Chapter Eleven - Find my Fianna

Freya Rose Two years later. “That's it. Now come at me again, but this time when you jump at me, I want you to shift as quickly as you can. Ok?” Finnley shouted out to Tana. I watched as Tana nodded her head at Finn. She pulled her thick dark red hair up into a ponytail, and then clicked her neck from side to side. She then stretched her arms across her chest. Once she'd finished stretching herself out, she charged at Finn. She ran across the training ground with lightning speed. Her dark red ponytail whipped around in the air behind her as she picked up speed. She then jumped high up into the air, and I pressed the button on the stop clock. She shifted as instructed, and her shift was swift. It was something Finn had been working on a lot lately. He felt like all of our shifts should be complete in less than 30 seconds, and Tana was by far h

Chapter Twelve - Is it dead?

Freya Rose Finnley followed silently behind me through the long corridor. I ran my hand along the cold steel walls as we continued to make our way down the secret passageway underneath the mansion. I knew that his mind must have been racing, but I thought it would be easier to show him what was down here, rather than explain it. I had sworn the pack to secrecy, each one of them knew exactly what was down here, because they were once down here themselves. We got to the end of the corridor, and on the left-hand side was a set of steel doors. I placed my hand onto the scanner on the wall. It beeped loudly, and then the doors slid open with a swoosh. I entered the new room, and then looked around. The room was a large steel box, and the right-hand side of it was made up of eight bulletproof glass cages. There were three on the back wall, three on the side wall and two on the wall with the doors on it. On the left-hand sid

Chapter Thirteen - Freya, help us

Freya Rose “Freya, help us!” I heard a cry for help in my mind, and I knew straight away that it was Tana.“We need to leave, now!” I shouted out to Finn. I didn't bother to explain, I just sprinted out of the double doors. I ran along the seemingly never-ending corridor, with Finnley hot on my heels. He quickly mind linked me, “Freya, what's happened?” “It's Tana, she said they need help. She sounded petrified,” I replied through the mind link as I reached the stairs.Finnley picked up speed and ran in front of me, he then rushed up the stairs like a leopard climbing a tree. I followed behind him, and once in the conference room, I closed the hatch. I went to pull the rug back over the hatch, but Finn grabbed it out of my hands and shouted, “I'll do it, you open that fucking door!”I didn't li

Chapter Fourteen - We need to leave

Freya Rose “So Freya, how do you know about my boys? I thought you weren't in contact with Selene,” Azael said in his usual velvety voice.I paused for a second not knowing what to say. Did he know that his sons were coming here? How much did he know? Had he been spying on us somehow? I had no idea why I was wasting time asking myself those questions. I needed to answer him, and it needed to be good.“Well?” He asked, his voice becoming a little more agitated. He then strolled up to me and roughly grabbed my face. If I could have seen my face right then, I would have guessed that I looked like a squashed fish with duck lips. His grip hurt, but I knew not to react, or he would see that as an invitation. He loved taking control, and he was always rough. Over the last two years, he'd had his way with me many times. I'd never seen anything wrong with it, but now, knowing that he is Se

Chapter Fifteen - Azael's coming

Mason Hart We had travelled for hours, and night had long since invaded the sky. The car was dark, so I stared blankly out of the window. Occasionally we would pass by a streetlight and I would instantly look down as the orange glow lit up Freya's sleeping face. Her expression wasn't one that I was used to seeing. Whenever I had watched her sleeping before, her face was always soft and peaceful, but now, well now, it was harsh and troubled. Every so often she would begin to whimper, and tears would slide down her cheeks. I'd gently wipe her tears away and then start stroking her hair, and in less than a minute she would relax and fall silent.I wondered to myself what she had been through the last few years. I was so consumed with my own feelings of anger, sadness, and abandonment, that I didn't bother to think about how she was feeling or coping. I just assumed that she didn't care, that she was getting on with her l

Chapter Sixteen - Help me, Mason

Freya Rose The night was perfect, surrounded by my pack. My pack, it felt good to say those words, the responsibility that now rested with me was a little bit overwhelming. But, I knew deep down that I could be the leader that they needed. I was strong and getting stronger by the minute, it was like I was feeding them, and their love and respect was feeding me. The main room of the cabin was enormous, more than big enough for us all. There was a log fire burning, a few rustic couches, and a handmade table in the middle that sat on top of a huge bear rug. The table was covered in empty Chinese take out containers, plates and cutlery. Sitting on the floor around the table was Tana and Savanah, they seemed to be getting on quite well, and Tana was asking Savanah what it was like to be an oracle. Next to them was Jenna, she seemed to be listening to the other girls but looked too shy to join in the conversation. Her

Chapter Seventeen - Stop her

Freya Rose I followed Mason up the stairs. He knew I was walking behind him, but he stayed silent, so I did the same. We got to the top of the stairs and walked past the first bedroom door. I could hear Evan and Selene giggling and having fun, and I couldn't help but feel a little jealous. Not because I wanted Evan, but because that was how my night was supposed to go with Mason. But now there is no chance of that. I know I've hurt him, and the least I can do is explain and tell him the truth. I continued to follow behind him, he walked all the way down the landing and then entered the end room. He didn't bother to hold the door open for me, so I quickly grabbed it before it slammed in my face.As I followed him into the room he headed straight over to a set of chest of draws and pulled out some shorts. He dropped his towel and I couldn't help but stare at his perfect ass as I made my way over to the four-poster bed.

Chapter Eighteen - Will this ever end?

Freya Rose I could hear people screaming all around me, and arms were grabbing at me trying to pull me away. Everything sounded slow and muffled like I was underwater or something. I felt more and more arms clutching at me and trying to pull at me. I blinked a few times and then began to focus on my surroundings. I looked down and my eyes grew wide at the sight that beheld me. My hands were squeezed tight around Mason's neck. Time sped up instantly and the slow muffled screams became clear and extremely loud.“Freya, please let him go!” One voice screamed.“He can't breathe Freya, please!” Another shouted out.I released Mason's neck from my grip and relaxed my body, allowing the hands around me to pull me away from Mason. I was dragged down the landing on my ass and then held in place while I watched Finnley and Evan scramble to give Mason CPR. Finnley's counting filled the air,

Chapter Nineteen - Goodbye, Mason

Freya Rose I stepped away from Chase's dead body as it shifted back into his human form. The pack rushed to him and continued to whine and whimper. Some of them were licking him and nudging him with their noses. I walked over to a tree and shifted back into my human form, I then sat on the floor with my back against the tree, and then gazed up at the stars. The stars were beginning to fade as the morning sun slowly rose over the mountains. Any other time I would have enjoyed the beauty of it, but not today.“Alpha? We need to take you back, I know why you're running, and I understand that you're scared. But I also know your future, and in the future that I have seen, you are a Trybrid. You will be fine, I promise you. Please trust me,” Savanah said softly as she approached me.  She knelt down in front of me, and I lowered my head to look at he

Chapter Twenty - Did you just bark?

Freya Rose I must have fallen asleep because when I opened my eyes, I was tucked up in Finnley's bed. I didn't know how long I had been asleep, but it must have been at least a few hours, because the sun was shining beautifully through the sides of the drapes. It lit the room enough for me to see but wasn't overpowering. I stretched and rubbed my sore eyes, all that crying had them feeling like I'd cleaned them with razor blades. I gradually sat up and listened to see if I could hear anything. But I couldn't, the cabin was silent. I got out of bed and made my way towards the bathroom. Once in the bathroom, I had a pee and washed my hands and face. I took my hair out and let it fall down my back in soft waves. I then stood there for a while with my hands on the sink, just staring at my reflection. I was completely heartbroken, and in all honesty, all I wanted to do was curl up in bed and hide away from the world
