CHAPTER FORTY NINE - THIS IS NOT THE END

MARIA 49 We all came here to be something, most of us didn't sit and plan and tell our parents- "Oh, i wanna be a stripper when i grow up" Because the truth is no one wanted to be a stripper.  At least not amongst us- ~ Flowers everywhere, a bunch of sad faces, the lingering eerie of death...  and a moment of silence for the deceased.  We stood at the front row, not a word to be uttered nor a movement to be made.  Just our attention, our moist eyes through which we grieved.  To everyone, she was different.  To some, she was a stranger, a friend, a relative but to us, she was more.  She was family.  I said I'll tell you all about it-

CHAPTER FIFTY - PLEASE DON'T DIE ON ME, NOT YOU.

JACQUELINE "For the most of her life, she remained that person we knew and we loved-" Her voice came audible with the microphone.  Everyone just stared in the silent atmosphere into her moist eyes, from which they saw the pain that enveloped the grief in her voice too.  "It's just she struggled and she was drowning and we just didn't see it, and there-" She paused as she took a second to wipe a tear.  "There lies the failure of a mother" She broke down as she pulled the microphone away.  I stood afar off in my black dress, yet close enough to see the portrait that leaned against her closed coffin- -her picture that represented her passion. "Amelia is, uhm-" Someone took the mic from her mother before putting it away.  His voice was audible enough without it as he took a second look at

CHAPTER FIFTY ONE - I NEEDED TO SAY MY GOODBYES.

AALIYAH"You know what i found today?" His voice dashed through my eyes as i awoke, startled. He had the usual bulb on as he approached, his footsteps often came before his face. "Pictures!" He yelled as he threw some of them to the ground, pictures of me. "Missing?" I echoed, a crack in my voice. "My bet is on that boyfriend of yours. I saw him earlier, when i went to get you food" He said as he tossed a paperbag closer to me and another to Diane, who sighed. We were apart now, through the day and night in a goddamn storage room that no one knows about and where we'll eventually die. My head was a mess with a migraine but my hair was worse and i bled, time to time i bled from my nose. "What do you want with me?" I yelled. "You don't want to kill me, unless you'd have been done with that-" I sa

CHAPTER FIFTY TWO - THE MURDERER EVERYONE THOUGHT I WAS.

WU I shut my eyes open at the sound of the metal clanging and i looked up to see my cell open.  "Am i getting released?" I asked before a female jailer clasped my wrists in the bondage of handcuffs.  Immediately, i found myself marching down the cell block.  "We're transferring you-" She said as i arched my brows, looking at the stern and creppy faces of these cell mates.  "To another jail?" I asked.  "We're transferring you to a correctional facility, where you will await your trial" She said as we walked towards the exit.  "You mean prison?" I asked as my eyes widened in somewhat fear.  "Youre not the only one. Next time, you'll think before you kill somebody" Her words came as sudden as the wind that hit my face.  ****

CHAPTER FIFTY THREE - ALL I FEEL IS NUMB

MARIAOn my left was a woman who'd awoken from sleep with a deafening scream that scared everyone- She was in a state of paranoia as she called out names and said how she dremt she was back where she dreaded the most. And before she was taken away, she told us our stories all end the same way, nobody will know- Those were her words and once she was taken away that dreadful, we'd hoped she'd return- -she never did. It was as if she dissappeared. Only God knows. **** I gasped awake, the intense light spearing my pupils as i struggled to stand up.  After many days, i had managed to get enough sleep and every second in every day felt like an hour, slow and agonizing in what felt like i was in a prison.  I sat up on my bed before dusting my jump suit uniform and hoppin

CHAPTER FIFTY FOUR - SOMETIMES I HATE MYSELF TOO

JACQUELINEMy headphones boomed in my ears the moving lyrics of the famous Billy Eilish's song as i walked around the kitchen.  Soon my toasts popped up while i grabbed my hot cup of coffee from my counter.  Then i turned to see Jules through the transparent door.  "Shit" I cursed as i walked towards the door, placing both the toast and coffee on the table, recently failing at everything i do.  Even at ignoring people.  I slid the lock and twisted the knob open and in came a furious looking Jules.  I was reluctant to pull of my headphones for the first few seconds that she yelled and then she turned around and she glared at me.  "What?" I asked as i pulled off the headphones while she eye rolled, dumping the tape close to my plate before turning to me.  "

CHAPTER FIFTY FIVE - YOU COULD NEVER STOP THE FIRE

JACQUELINEMy denim checkered converse dug into the concrete pavement as i walked on, my hoodie shielding my face from the sun. My hands sat in my pocket as i jogged unto the porch before giving it a slight knock. "Thabk you so much for helping" Dele came out almost immediately, handing me a pile of posters before he shut the door. "We need to get going" He said, as he pulled my hands unto the seemingly serene street. **** "So no clue? No hint as to where she might be?" I asked as we jogged along the sidewalk. He wiped his sweat as he turned to me. "No, I'm just waiting on the police. I did file a missing person's report-" He halted.  "-and then this" He said, stopping to paste a poster unto a surrounding wall. "And i hired like five private investigators and-" He heav

CHAPTER FIFTY SIX - IT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO END LIKE THIS

AALIYAHA sharp buzz woke me from my slight slumber as i instinctively tried to stand, -forgetting i had clothing in my mouth and a rope around my arms and legs that held firmly around a thick metallic rod that stood up right at the furthermost corner of the dark poorly aerated room i was held captive. Story of my life, now. And each day i was forced to wake up with this agonizing pain that pierced into my chest and the numbness in my hands and feet. Diane groaned as she slouched against the wall, blood had rushed from her hands and into her face as she sounded in pain. And speaking of pain, i was beyond that and the agony, i hadn't had any of my antiretrovirals in days and i looked a mess. My inconsistent feeding and captivity had me shed a handful of weight and i didn't know if it were only my imaginations that some of my hair pulled
