Chapter 31

I immediately ended the call when Charie informed me about my parents wanting me to join them for a meal. That would actually be great if I wasn't conscious about this mark in me.  Letting my hair flow and wearing a turtleneck shirt is all I can do to hide my secret. Dressing up with what is planned for almost an hour, I tried to feel and appear myself more confident in front of the mirror. Half of my usual shiny long hair flows down under my chest as my red turtleneck dress suits my looks.  When I finally finished fixing myself, Charie knocked on the door again. "Ma'am Amber, your parents are looking for you. They said that you must hurry up because someone will be joining your meal."  I raised an eyebrow on the mirror while putting my face powder on. "What do you mean of someone joining with us?" I asked, then put the powder back down.  "Your Mom only informed me to let you dres

Chapter 32

"So, aside from Amber being the student body president, how did you both meet? It seems like you already know each other so well," Mom intriguingly asked.  I hissed on her question because the arrival was like an interview or a talk show of a celebrity couple. They said that they invited Thunder here for us to know each other. He was like a son to them, they thought. Alright, I see nothing wrong about that either since he's Blake's best friend and our accomplice in every escape.  "He almost killed me, that's how we met." I deadpanned.  My parents' eyes widened in shock about my confession while Thunder crossed his arms over his chest.  "She was just overreacting Tita, Tito," he answered. I faced him with a flinch eyebrow and tightly pressed lips.  "I'm not. You forced me to hand that scissor!" I yelled, feeling triggered by what he said. &nbs

Chapter 33

"Perfect!" I cheered when I finally placed the human-sized Teddy bear beside my bed. Marcus said that my sister can't sleep without a teddy on her side so I bought her one though I can be her human teddy.  With sweat flowing down into my body and messy hair, I rushed into Marcus' room and dragged him here.

Chapter 34

I locked myself in my room for the whole day. While they are all busy entertaining Celestine, here I am strolling around every corner of my pink room. I am thinking of bringing back my old room since I expected the wrong sister but I'm tired of fixing it alone.  "Oh, come on, Amber. Why can't you just go out and set aside your pride?!" I talked to myself in the mir

Chapter 35

After our dinner and a few chats with Thunder, I decided to go back to my room. I don't have any business to deal with them anymore. I'd rather spend my time talking with my friends on the phone.  I tried to contact Lily but I can't reach her as well as Jordan, they must be busy. I threw my phone on the bed then went to my wardrobe to pick some clothes and changed my dr

Chapter 36

"Celestine, get a glass of water," Marcus ordered her while holding my shoulders. I am still sitting on the floor leaning my head on the edge of the bed.  "Right away. Wait for me, I'll be quick."  I tweaked my hair again for a hope of easing the pain. My whole body seems to have a harmony of feeling the pain in my central system. Tears were flowing together with the blurred flashed episode in my mind. This is a curse!  "Amber, listen. Calm yourself and look at me," Marcus continued, lifting my chin up.  Instead of hurting myself and banging my head, I heaved a deep breath then gently massaged my temples. This feeling is kinda familiar to me. The time when I had a strange nightmare. I felt the same way.  "Do we need to call a doctor?" Mom asked in worry.  I shook my head in disagreement. They would just give me similar medication

Chapter 37

I woke up in a pink familiar room in my sight. Fear was still eating me as I remembered what happened earlier. Blood. Lots of blood was flowing and people were in a riot. I thought those kinds of scenarios can only be seen in action movies but I witnessed it unexpectedly in live.  "Hey, oh thanks God you're awake," Celestine spoke on my side. I shifted my view on her and a bandage on her left hand welcomed me. There was a stain of red amidst the white cloth. She was wounded because of me.  Tears began to fall as I caged her with my arms. The episode is still fresh in my mind of how she covered and dragged me inside the safe area.  "I-I'm sorry for the g-gunshot. That s-should be me," I mumbled between my sobs. She caressed my hair and held my chin upwards.  "No. None of us deserves the shot. It was an accident, hush now." As soon as she uttered those words, a dam of water in my ey

Chapter 38

The next morning, we had our deafening silence breakfast. No one dared to talk in the middle of the meal, not even Marcus. I kept on asking him about what he said last night means but he just smiled. The party made me more excited.  Marcus finally cleared a throat and all our attention was into him. He drank a glass of water then wiped his mouth using the table napkin. "May I excuse myself?" he said.

"Amber, Celestine, hurry up! The party is about to start!" Marcus complained while continuously knocking on the door.  It's already past Six o'clock in the evening but here we are sitting together on my bed. They target to start the party by Quarter to Seven at one of the five-star hotels where my Parents have invested. We are actually done doing our make up earlier but we had a problem on Celestine's dress zipper. So, we have to wait until our housemaids f

Chapter 40

Getting married to my man's best friend is the last thing that I could imagine. This is really the most hilarious thing I never thought to happen. Of all people, why Thunder? Why me?  They are pushing an engagement party without our consent. They do not consider our feelings and freedom. This is really unfair! I can do and sacrifice things for my family but not this one… Not my love. Not my personal feelings.  When I finally digested what was happening, I pulled back my arm on Celestine and dashed my way to my parents who were happily talking with Thunder's parents.  "Hey! Aly, wait up!" Celestine screeched. I didn't take a glance at her and continued taking my steps.  "Amber, have you heard the announcement?" Mom asked excitedly. I nodded weakly.  "Oh, meet your soon to be Mother and Father-in-law," she added. I forced myself to greet them to at l
