Chapter 3

I stared numbly at the trio inside, my eyes burning red when I saw what appeared to be my sister kneeling before the man.

Just as I was about to burst in, my phone vibrated.

I reached for it, ready to decline the call, but froze when I saw the caller ID.

"Sis"

My sister was calling me?

I stood there confused, looking between my vibrating phone and the scene unfolding in the room. Something clicked, and I moved to the hallway, covering my phone.

"Sis?" I answered quietly.

"Troy, I'm done here. Have you left yet? If not, come pick me up - let's go home together."

Her words made my forehead wrinkle in confusion.

What was going on?

She was clearly in Room 502 with Lindsey and that man...

So how was she calling me about going home together?

Could that woman in the room not be my sister?

"Troy? Are you listening?" my sister called out while I was lost in thought.

I snapped back to reality. "Yeah, I'm still here. Where are you?"
