It was probably a sign from the universe that I lost my child just as I decided I was going to spend the rest of my life with Trent.

Trent held me tightly. "I won't let you go, Roxy. You're my wife, and I'm never going to let you slip away."

"You promised me you would never let me get hurt, but right now, it's you who's caused me the most grief," I retorted.

Stunned, Trent blurted, "That was an accident, and I promise it will never happen again."

I shot back, "You can't guarantee that. I saved your life from that accident years ago, but you've been pestering me ever since. You even chased my fiancé out of the country before forcing me to marry you.

"After that, you've been so controlling that you won't let me speak to another man. And you made me wear this bracelet that I can't take off.

"It's because of you that I've lost all my friends and family, and I'm tired of all this..."
