For the next round, twenty would be chosen from thirty-five trainees to perform with the mentors.

Song selection would go in order of last round's popularity rankings.

Which meant I'd be the first to choose.

The cards in front of me showed the song options for the next performance.

Looking through them, I immediately spotted a ballad I'd practiced before.

I stood there, making a show of indecision for the cameras before slowly walking forward.

Just as I was about to take the card, a strange resistance surged through my body.

Emma was here!

I held my breath and thought silently, "I know it's you, Emma!"

"I can help you get revenge, but you need to tell me how you died!"

"Emma, tell me!"

My repeated demands met with silence.

Only the ache in my suspended arm told me Emma disagreed with my choice.

Determined, I gritted my teeth and fought Emma for control of my body.

Gradually, sweat began beading on my forehead, and my raised arm started trembling.

"Tell me how you died!"
