EMMA
Oh god, what should I do now? I'm stuck. I promised Mason I would meet him, but I can't ditch Elijah because of his position. Still, I don't want to hurt Mason. I think I have to go with Elijah. If he finds out I ditched him to go with Mason, it could cause problems for me.I slip into the red dress, and it fits me perfectly. How does he know my measurements? I leave my hair loose, apply a little concealer, and swipe some nude lipstick on my lips. I don’t need to do much more. It's not like I’m going on a date with him, so I won’t bother going overboard.
I wait in my room until the clock strikes 11. Right on time, the door opens, and Elijah walks in without knocking. Typical. This man has no manners. He’s dressed in a dark blue suit with a black tie—handsome, no doubt. But is he dressing up for some business deal?
"It would be nice if you knocked first," I tell him as I stand up and walk toward him.
"This is my house. I don’t need permission," he says, extending his hand for me to take.
"Are you trying to be a gentleman? Because you're failing miserably," I reply sarcastically. He rolls his eyes.
"I don’t need to try, sweetheart. I am a gentleman, and you’re the same girl who begged me for your phone this morning," he taunts.
"Where are we going?" I ask, taking his hand.
I feel something with his touch, and he must feel it too, because I hear him mutter a curse under his breath.
"Do you feel that?" I ask him. He quickly looks away.
"What are you talking about? Let’s go," he says, and we head out of my room.
He’s still holding my hand, guiding me toward the front door. Outside, I see his car, but what catches my attention more is Mason standing right in front of me. His face is filled with shock, and I feel a pang of guilt. I’ve never felt so ashamed in my life. I’ve ditched him, and he looks betrayed.
"Mason, have you reserved a table at my favorite restaurant?" Elijah asks.
"Yes, Alpha," Mason responds, opening the door for me without looking at me.
"Mason, I’m sorry, but I can explain," I say in a soft tone.
"Am I missing something here, Mason?" Elijah asks, glancing between Mason and me.
"No, Alpha. Emma wanted me to teach her some wolf things, but now she’s going with you, so she’s apologizing," Mason lies, not revealing the real reason.
"You don’t need to worry, Mason. If she needs anything, I’m here for her. Stay away from her, though. I don’t like the closeness between you two," Elijah says, threatening Mason in front of me.
What is wrong with this man? Why is he acting like I’m his girlfriend?
"I’m sorry, Alpha. This won’t happen again," Mason says, bowing before Elijah.
"Now you can go. I’ll drive," Elijah commands, and Mason leaves without looking at me.
I feel terrible now.
"Are you upset that Mason isn’t joining us? What’s going on between you two?" Elijah asks, moving closer as we get into the car.
Again, his proximity is making my mind spin. This man doesn’t miss an opportunity to get closer to me, and it’s driving me crazy. I shouldn’t like it, but I do. His breath mingles with mine, and it affects me so much that I close my eyes. His lips are only inches away from mine when I realize I didn’t know he was my sister's mate.
I turn my face to the side, and his lips brush my cheek. He steps back, looking frustrated.
I decide not to address it further, so I change the topic to ease the tension.
"There’s a thing called friendship, and I would appreciate it if you didn’t threaten my friends or control my life," I say, clearly angry. What he did with Mason wasn’t okay.
"Okay, so now you’re developing a soft spot for him? Well, stay away from my pack members. You and your mother are bad news," he replies, looking at me with a piercing gaze.
Does this man have a PhD in hurting people? He has no right to talk about my mother, especially when I don’t even know why she cursed his pack house.
"If I’m bad news, why did you invite me to dinner?" I retort, crossing my arms. "Maybe I should just go back to my room, since you don’t want to talk or walk with bad news."
I push him lightly, but he doesn’t move. It’s like my actions have no effect on him.
“Sit in the car,” he ordered. I figured it wasn’t worth standing there arguing with him because, in the end, I’d have to do what he wanted. I slid into the car, wishing the dinner would be over as quickly as possible. Elijah took the driver's seat and smoothly drove us down a narrow path through the woods, eventually merging onto the main road. He drove skillfully, but I was sulking in the car, my mood completely ruined. I had hoped we could have a conversation, but he managed to ruin the night.
“I didn’t mean to bring up your mother,” he said, as if apologizing, “I was angry, and it just slipped out.” So, now we were in ‘apology mode.’
“Are you really apologizing?” I taunted. “It doesn’t sound like it.”
“Sweetheart, I don’t apologize because I’m the alpha,” he said arrogantly, “but I do admit that what I said about your mother was rude.”
“I’m used to it,” I replied, not caring. “Let’s just get this dinner over with and focus on how to break the curse.”
Elijah accelerated the car, and I flinched, startled by his sudden speed. “What’s wrong with you?” I asked, feeling a rush of fear from his erratic driving. This man definitely had a bipolar personality.
“I’m just driving and heading to dinner. We’ll get there soon,” he said, dismissively.
I relaxed in my seat, reassuring myself that he wouldn’t let anything happen to me until the curse was broken. Soon, we arrived at The Ancestor Restaurant. Elijah opened my door, handed the valet his keys, and linked his arm with mine as we walked inside. It felt so good to be around humans again; I was exhausted by the wolves and their rules.
We were seated on the rooftop, with only a few people scattered around. I was relieved to be out of the pack house, even if it was with this man.
The waiter approached, asking, “What would you like to order?”
Elijah glanced at me, then said, “I’ll have a strong drink, and she’ll have orange juice.” He ordered for me, which I found frustrating. I rolled my eyes at his authoritative behavior.
As the waiter turned to leave, I asked Elijah, “Why is he looking at me like that?”
“Because you haven’t shifted into a wolf yet,” he replied with a knowing smile.
Confused, I asked, “But this is a human restaurant. How does he know about wolves?”
Elijah smirked, leaning in slightly. “This is a wolf-exclusive restaurant. Hardly any humans work here. We disguise ourselves as humans when needed.”
“So, how did the waiter know I haven’t shifted?” I asked.
“We have supernatural abilities that let us know these things,” he explained. “But don’t worry, you’re safe here.”
The drinks arrived, and the waiter cast another glance at me. Elijah’s eyes narrowed. “If you look at her one more time, I’ll rip your heart out,” he threatened. The waiter immediately looked away and scurried off.
I changed the topic, trying to focus on the reason we were here. “So, what do we need to talk about the curse?”
Elijah scoffed. “Aren’t you eager to leave this dinner?”
“I just want to go home. Your pack house isn’t my place, and I feel out of place there,” I said, my voice full of frustration.
His expression softened. “You need to accept us. We’re not dangerous to you. I run a business in the human world, and I haven’t harmed anyone.”
“You run a business?” I asked, surprised.
“Yeah, sweetheart. I’m a billionaire,” he said, his arrogance evident.
“Then I’m sure you’re pretty arrogant with your workers,” I teased.
Elijah raised an eyebrow. “I’m kidding. You need to loosen up a bit,” I said with a lighthearted tone.
I should be angry with him for ruining my time with Mason, but for some reason, I wasn’t. I tried to hate him, but it just wasn’t working.
“Okay, do you like Mason?” Elijah asked casually, sipping his drink.
“He’s my friend, and you told me it’s good to have friends,” I replied nonchalantly.
“Yeah, right,” Elijah said. “Mason’s good at being friends, but you’re the daughter of an alpha. He’s just a beta. You’re not meant to get close to him.”
I didn’t agree with this ranking system, but I chose not to argue about it.
Then, he surprised me with another question. “Are you a virgin, Emma?”
I blinked, taken aback. “What do you mean by that?”
“To break the curse, you need to be a virgin,” he explained bluntly.
I shifted uncomfortably in my seat. “I am a virgin,” I replied, not wanting to discuss something so personal with him.
EMMA"It's good. So, Emma, tell me about yourself. I'm intrigued by your personality," he said, and I shared the story of my life so far, leaving out the part where I caught Violet making out with my boyfriend. I told him about my dream of becoming a vet, but how I felt stuck in this situation with him."Now, it's your turn," I said. "I know all about your lifestyle, but I want to know why you're so possessive of me. Sometimes, you go crazy when I don't do what you want." I watched him, waiting for his answer. He chuckled. "Trust me, you don't want to hear it.""Trust me, I really do want to hear what's going on with you," I said confidently. His expression shifted, growing intense. "I've been attracted to you since the first time I met you, and not once have you left my mind. You've become my obsession. I can't stand the thought of you with any other man."I swallowed hard, feeling a mix of disbelief and confusion. "You can't be serious. You have a mate. This isn’t possible. Wolves a
EMMA"Please spare me, Elijah. I can’t handle all this. I shouldn’t have come back here," I pleaded, tears filling my eyes, hoping that maybe, just maybe, he’d show mercy. But who was I kidding? He was a ruthless man who didn’t care about anyone."Don’t cry, love. I haven’t done anything yet," he said, trying to step closer, but I backed away."I only want you. If you follow my lead, I promise no one will get hurt," he continued, wiping away my tears. "Come on, let’s sit in the car. No matter how much you cry, your fate is tied to mine—whether you want it or not," he said, dragging me towards his car.I had no choice but to go with him for now, even though a part of me hoped for an escape. The thought of what lay ahead weighed heavily on me. We sat in the car in silence during the entire journey, and I was oddly grateful for the peace.Eventually, we arrived outside the pack house. I felt suffocated by his presence, but as I tried to leave the car, he pulled me back."Whatever happens
EMMAI woke up with a sense of clarity—I knew exactly what I needed to do. After a refreshing bath, I pulled out the strappy pink top and paired it with my ripped black jeans. The clothes had arrived early this morning, sent by my father. I thought about asking him about Mom’s death but decided against it. He might be responsible for it too, and I need to tread carefully.I wasn’t supposed to wear outfits like this. Alpha Elijah had forbidden me from wearing anything that showed off my curves. But today, I was taking a chance—I wanted to see how far I could push him. Pulling my hair into a high ponytail, I headed straight to the Alpha’s office.Without knocking, I walked in and found him in the middle of a meeting. Every pair of eyes turned toward me, some lingering too long, taking in my appearance. I felt a flicker of unease. Had I made a mistake?“Everyone, leave. Now,” Elijah commanded, his voice dripping with authority. As the men began to shuffle out, he added with a menacing edg
EMMA"Oh, it's nothing. Anyway, why are you having breakfast alone?" I asked her, steering the conversation away from the previous topic.“Elijah is busy with his duties, and as part of the higher-ranking order, I’m not allowed to have meals with the lower ranks. It leaves me pretty lonely,” she admitted, her expression heavy with solitude. Her words only deepened my guilt for almost crossing a line with her mate. But I couldn’t afford to let guilt consume me. My revenge on Violet for taking away everything I loved—and my mission to uncover the truth about my mother—depended on my resolve. I had to suppress these emotions if I wanted to succeed in my plan to trap the alpha, Elijah.I took a seat beside Violet and served myself some bacon and bread. There were important matters to discuss later with the so-called “sexy alpha,” but for now, I tried to focus on breakfast.“So, spill the beans—was it Mason who left that hickey on your neck?” Violet teased, catching me off guard. I nearly
EMMAIt’s been two months since Elijah and I shared our secret moments away from everyone’s watchful eyes. I know what we’re doing is wrong, but when I’m with him, I feel complete in a way I’ve never felt before. His touch ignites a fire within me, and kissing him takes me to a place of unimaginable pleasure and ecstasy. My feelings for Elijah are consuming me, and I know it all began because I wanted to learn about my mother, but now, I realize I want Elijah for myself. But to him, I am just someone to satisfy his desires. We’ve never had sex. I keep making excuses, mostly because I’m a virgin and afraid of the unknown. Elijah has played with my body and teased me, but he’s never gone further. Every moment spent with him feels real—he worships my body like a lover, and his touch makes me forget everything else. Not a single day passes without me thinking of Elijah. Yet, whenever I see him with Violet, jealousy gnaws at me. I want him all to myself, but I know I can never have him.I
EmmaI jolted awake when I felt unfamiliar hands on my waist. Frantically, I reached for the table lamp, and the soft glow revealed Elijah lying next to me in bed. I quickly sprang out of bed, panic rising in my chest. "What are you doing here? I'm not going anywhere, so leave," I snapped, my anger flaring.Elijah got up too, his expression unreadable. "Will you listen to me?" he asked, stepping closer. I took a step back, not wanting him anywhere near me."I get it. You want me to sleep with five men for five nights, fine, I'm ready. But I don’t want to see you near me," I spat, frustration burning through my words. He reached out and pulled me towards him, pressing a finger to my lips."Shut up and listen to me," he said in a low voice. I pushed against him with all my strength, but it was as if I were pushing against a wall. His gaze softened slightly."You pushed me and hurt me. What else do you want me to hear? I’m nothing but your whore, and you’ve proved that today," I said, te
Emma"But I want to know about my mom," I said to him, and he rubbed his forehead. "If I tell you something, you have to trust me," he said, creating some space between us."I need to know, Elijah, please," I begged, gently placing my hand on his cheek."Emma, if you love me, then don't ask me any more questions. That's all I can say," he said, making me fall silent."But everything between us started because I hoped to learn about my mom. It was a trade," I replied, and he gave me a hard look."Are we still together because you want to know about your mom through me?" he asked."No, we're together because I’m in love with you," I confessed, and he smiled. He slipped into a fresh outfit, a black shirt paired with checked trousers. He looked absolutely irresistible. The temperature in the room seemed to rise because of his sheer magnetism."Where are you going?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady."I have an urgent pack meeting, and I need to see Violet. She must be worried about
EMMA"Get out of my room, now!" I shouted at him. If he thought I was weak, he was sorely mistaken. I knew how to fight back."What if I don't?" he challenged, and it was clear now—you can't judge a book by its cover. I had once thought he was genuine, but seeing him like this made me feel disgusted."Alpha might not say anything to you because you’re his mentee, but my sister is the Luna of the pack. I wonder what she'll do when she finds out you assaulted me," I warned, my voice steady. He stood up from my bed and moved closer, but I took a step back."Tonight, I’ll come to your room, and we’ll see who can stop me from having you," he said, reaching out to touch my face. I jerked my head away, the disgust on my face clear. His expression showed annoyance at my resistance, but thankfully, he left the room. I let out a deep breath, trying to calm myself.I called Elijah, but he didn’t pick up. He didn’t respond to my messages either. What game are you playing, Elijah? I thought, fear
EMMAAs time passed, everything seemed to fall into place. Elijah and I grew closer, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that someone was keeping a close watch on us—though I had no idea who. Elijah and I were out on the outskirts of the pack, lying naked on the ground. My head rested on his lap as he ran his hand through my brown locks. He looked down at me, his voice soft. "Why do you look so upset, babe?"Elijah pressed a gentle kiss to my forehead, and I sighed, my voice barely a whisper. "I love you, Elijah, but I'm afraid. What if Violet finds out about us someday?"Elijah chuckled lightly, brushing the thought aside. "Don't worry about her. She’ll never know. And honestly, you don’t need to worry about anyone else. Just focus on me." With that, he kissed me softly on the lips, his hand slowly trailing over my body.I knew this was wrong, but I couldn’t stop. Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t. Elijah pulled back from the kiss, a playful smile on his lips. "Let’s get ready for round
EMMAElijah and I locked eyes, and in that moment, I realized the magnitude of my mistake—falling in love with him. He loved me, I knew that, but there was no way he could ever trust me. Tonight, he almost hurt me, consumed by jealousy.I couldn’t stop the tears from falling. I ran to the bathroom and locked the door behind me. Slipping down to the floor, I whispered, "Why, Moon Goddess, are you doing this to me? The man I love doesn’t trust me, but here I am—still so stupidly in love with him."After few minutes, I walked out of the bathroom, not sparing him a glance. Everything was clean and pristine—Lily had done a good job, removing the blood stains and shattered glass. I slipped out of my bathrobe and into a long shirt, feeling exposed but somehow free.My gaze landed on Elijah, standing across the room, watching me. The pain in my feet was still there, a constant reminder of what had happened. I chose to ignore him, lying down on the bed and pulling the duvet over my body. I was
EMMAMason and I sat across from each other, quietly having our meal when he suddenly spoke, his voice tinged with amusement."You know, Emma," he said, tilting his head slightly, "I've been sitting here for the past hour trying to decide something very important."I looked up, my brows knitting together. "What?"Mason reached across the table, placing his hand over mine, his gaze turning soft. "I've been alone for a long time, and I think... I need a partner. Someone who understands me, who loves me through thick and thin."A lump formed in my throat as an awkward tension settled between us. His fingers lightly massaged my palm, his hopeful eyes searching mine. But I couldn’t do this—I couldn’t play with his feelings.I quickly jerked my hand away and pushed back my chair. "I—I need to go home," I said, my voice uneven.Without waiting for his reaction, I grabbed my bag and rushed out of the café, my heart pounding. Even as I stepped inside the car, I could still feel the weight of h
EMMAI wake up in Elijah's arms, and last night was as steamy as ever. Each night, our passion grows, and it feels like our love blooms more each day, like a fresh flower. This is what drives me to do all the wrong things, just to experience more of his love.I carefully get out of bed, not wanting to disturb him, and prepare for my clinical duties. I don’t think Joanna will be coming in today, considering her husband passed away yesterday. I slip into a simple black shirt and white trousers. Elijah is still sleeping, and I don't blame him. He trains every day to protect this pack from all threats. It's only 6 AM, and I need to hurry. I lean down to kiss Elijah on the forehead. He stirs a little in his sleep, but I don't want to wake him, so I quietly leave. When I arrive at the pack clinic, I’m surprised to see Joanna there."Hey," I say, surprised."Don’t look so surprised. My husband is dead, and I’m still grieving, but as a doctor, it’s my responsibility to care for the pack membe
EMMAAfter strolling around the garden with Mason, I entered the pack house and froze. Derrick’s lifeless body lay on the floor, and Joanna was crying over him. Elijah and Violet were standing by, comforting the pack members."Today, we’ve lost one of our soldiers, but we must fight our emotions," Elijah announced in his authoritative tone. Violet stood by him, embodying her role as Luna."What the hell happened to him? We weren’t at war, and no one should be able to enter the pack house," Mason whispered to himself, but I caught his words."What do you mean?" I asked him, my curiosity piqued."Look at his chest," he said, nodding toward Derrick’s body. "His heart’s been removed, and this is the signature of Alpha Elijah when he kills an enemy. But why would he do this to his own pack member?" Mason’s words struck me. I realized Elijah had killed his father the same way, but why would he kill his own?"How can you be so sure?" I asked, trying to process the information."Alpha trained
EMMAI glance at Elijah, but he avoids making eye contact with me.“But Alpha, she’s not staying here permanently. Eventually, she has to go back to her home with our dad,” Violet said. She had a point, but I wasn’t thinking about leaving for my dad’s place. My place is with Elijah, and I wasn’t willing to leave him. Dad could manage without me, but I couldn’t manage without Elijah."Sweetheart, Violet, do you forget that I’m the Alpha of this pack? The final decision is mine, and no one can argue with that," Elijah said, flashing a tight smile, almost mocking her. Violet fell silent because she knew exactly what it meant to go against Elijah.Elijah is a force to be reckoned with when he's not with me. He’s never shown his love for anyone else, and I can’t exactly argue with him in front of all the pack members."Alpha, are you going to send her to the brothel in our pack house to fulfill the needs of our pack members?" one of them suggested, and the room fell into complete silence.
EMMAHe pulled me up onto his chest, and we looked into each other's eyes for a long moment."Do you know how much power you have over me?" Elijah asked, his voice low, and I chuckled softly."Trust me, I know. And that’s exactly why I can convince you to do things you don’t want to do," I replied, placing a gentle kiss on his chest.“Elijah, I’ve been thinking... does Violet give you more satisfaction than I do?” I asked hesitantly, unsure of his response. He made a confused face at me.“When you left, I only slept with her once. It was just to get her pregnant. But since you’ve come back, I haven’t had the desire to touch her. There’s a big difference between sex and making love,” he said, and I felt a wave of relief wash over me. The pang of jealousy inside me melted away."I have no interest in her. I want only you. And this is the last time I’m answering to your insecurities. After this, I won’t entertain any more of your questions. Don’t ever doubt me again," he said, pinching m
EMMA“Shut the fuck up, Violet. I don’t want to hear any nonsense while we’re eating. Don’t ask questions that have no relevance,” Elijah’s deadly voice cut through the tension, and Violet immediately fell silent. I felt a sense of relief. Her presence had been stirring up all the horrible memories of what I had been through.I glanced at Elijah’s hand, noticing the bruise was slowly fading, thanks to his wolf powers. I really needed to learn how to do that. The rest of the breakfast was consumed in silence, but I couldn’t shake the feeling of Mason’s eyes on me. He was watching my every move.I was afraid of him, but I knew he wouldn’t dare do anything to me, not with Elijah here. He’d be chopped to pieces if he even thought about it.“I need you in my office, Violet,” Elijah said as he stood from the table. Violet and Mason left, and I headed to my room. My stomach was full, and I needed to rest. I wanted to heal properly so that I could be with Elijah soon.Just as I was about to c
EMMA“I feel dirty all over. They all touched me. I’m only meant for you, not for anyone else,” I said, holding onto him tightly. His arms wrapped around me, pulling me closer.“I’ll protect you. This will never happen again,” he whispered, soothing my back.“How can you still love me? Can’t you see that I’m ruined beyond redemption? When you touch me, don’t you feel disgusted? You can’t find the same Emma you once loved,” I said, my voice filled with frustration. I was angry at myself, angry at my fate for putting me through so much pain. This was never what I wanted in life, but here I was, struggling to face it.He pulled away from the hug, gazing directly into my tear-filled eyes. “I love you. And every time I touch you, I feel alive. I feel like I have a reason to live again. Maybe your body is no longer pure, but it’s never been your body I’ve craved. It’s your soul. You’re still my love, my Emma, and nothing will ever change that. No power in this world can make me stop loving
