chapter 6 Watch out for your wife

Ring ring ring!!!,I woke up to the buzzing of my phone. "Who the hell is calling me so early this morning?"I groaned putting my hands on my forehead.

I sat up lazily on the bed resting my arm on a pillow and reached for my phone on the dressing mirror. To my very surprise,it was Kenneth. "What's it again now?"I muttered under my breath before picking up his call .

"Hello dear, good morning..oh yeah am still home......what?..... alright then pick me up in thirty minutes....... goodbye........see you soon"I then ended the call. I don't seem to understand Kenneth at all. He wants to pick me up at home because we have lots to do at office.

I dragged myself out of bed and took my bath quite quickly. I rummaged my wardrobe not knowing what to wear and later decided to wear my short sleeveless pink gown. I realised that it's been long that I've applied makeup on my face so when I was done dressing up,I sat in front of my dressing mirror, took out my make-up kits and applied light makeup on my face. I took a last long look at myself and was pleased with what I saw.i picked out a blue -black jacket and handbag, rummaged my treasure chest for a blue-black costume and luckily I found a really pretty one. "I need to go on a shopping spree soon"I said to myself feeling so giddy as I headed towards the living room.

"Mom,dad, Anna goodmorning,hope you all had a good night rest?"I asked when I met them all in the living room. "Yeah ,am sure we all did, good morning sweetie,hope you also had a good night rest cos I realised you were so tired yesterday. Hope your boss isn't too demanding,you had to work till 10:00pm yesterday honey ,am so concerned about you ,how about you quit working?. Don't worry,I will make sure Charles gives you enough pocket money cos if you continue working this way ,am not sure when to hope for grandchildren"mum said speaking her and dad's mind and I just nodded inanely telling them not to worry too much that their grandchildren are forthcoming.....of course I was joking but it seems she took it to heart. Not like I care anyways.

I asked Anna about breakfast and she said it's gonna be ready in some minutes but by the way I haven't seen Charles this morning at all maybe he had an urgent meeting that he couldn't even have breakfast before leaving or he is still sleeping but I don't think he........

"Good morning everyone,how was your nights?"Charles said whilst coming into the living room interrupting my thoughts. "Great"we chorused and he had simply said"alright".

But then his attention was on me. "Linda, where are you going so early this morning all dressed up?, you look so appealing and gorgeous, I thought you do resume work at 9:00am and it's still 7:42am,did you perhaps want to visit your parents?,if so I would love to tag along cos I have not seen my in-laws ever since we got married"Charles questioned. I had looked at him and scoffed,it's so good of him to act like he cares about me when I know very well that he doesn't. "I'm not paying any visits to my parents,my boss called so early this morning to tell me that we have tons of work to do today. He said he's gonna pick me up at home and am still waiting for him"I replied resisting the urge to hiss at him but he didn't bother saying anything again.

Anna announced that breakfast was ready and I was about to sit in the dining room when my phone rang. "Hello dear.......am done already just wanna have breakfast, where are you now?........are u serious?....... you mean the new Spanish restaurant?........okay then ........ would be on my way now......byeeee.......see you soon take care then.....we meet later"I said ending the call. "That was my boss,he said I should meet up with him in the new Spanish restaurant down the street so I gotta go now, can't stay for breakfast. Mom, dad, Charles, Anna take care , goodbye everyone,see ya later at night, have a great day ahead"I had said excusing myself picking up my coat,bag and car key.

I was about to get out of the house when a voice stopped me,I turned to see who it was and it turned out to be Charles and what he said was mind blowing"how about I drop you off there?,I also feel like having breakfast at that restaurant and having a little chitchat with your boss is gonna be great, you wouldn't refuse your husband,right honey?. This son of a bitch,what the hell did you think you are doing,well two can play the game. "It's not like am refusing you hubby buh it wouldn't be easy for me to take cab when coming back from work in the evening,we can go in separate car's,right?"I replied not wanting to spend any minute with him. But what he said was countering that I was in awe ,he said if that's the problem he's gonna pick me up at night.

I no longer had anything to say so I nodded in approval. I was with no choice other than to succumb to his request because I don't know what his parents might say if I am persistent. I sighed dejectedly and asked him the car he's gonna take but he told me he's gonna take the dark blue sports car that dad gave us as a wedding present because it matched with not only my coat ,shoe and bag but also his suit. I don't know what went on overnight with Charles but am bound to say he's changed into a really cool-headed husband.

Tsk tsk tsk,I still feel suspicious about his behaviour towards me . I waited for him inside the car and in some minutes he was done and was driving down to the Spanish restaurant.

On getting there,he asked me not to move and alighted from the car but I just did not understand what he was trying to do until he came over to my side , opened the car door for me and told me to hold unto his hands.

It seems Charles has been out of his fucking mind recently, he's trying to make my boss feel so bad by acting like a hen-pecked husband.

Boiling with fury,I slapped his hands away and got out of the car on my own. Who needs him anyways,if he played his game too far ,I would make sure he doesn't enjoy watching it .

"Just Watch out for Ur wife Charles, she's not the weak woman you married some days ago"I thought to myself with a devilish grin plastered on my face as I walked into the restaurant without waiting for him.

I saw my boss waving at me when I gat inside and I walked over to his place with Charles who was trying to keep up his pace with me.

"Good morning Kenneth,hope you had a good night rest?"I asked my boss smiling so sweetly at him and he looked fondly at me,took my hands in his helping me to a chair in front of him. "Good morning to you also babe ,I did have a great night rest, what about you?he replied flirting with me in front of my husband and I nodded.

Pleased,he extended his hands to Charles and said"nice meeting you again Mr Williams,you need not to accompany Linda here actually but since you did please have your sit beside her". "Nice meeting you again also Mr Black,I didn't mean to escort her ,I just wanted to make sure I get my wife to work safely, hope you didn't mind me joining you for breakfast or did I ruin something? Charles retorted back angrily and for what seems like hours,they stared dagger at each other.

If stares can kill,am sure one of them will have been lying lifelessly on the floor. How come I feel like am some sort of price being fighted over by two rich men,I love this Kinda feeling. It's so absurd but special.

"Stop"I shouted banging my hands on the table when I couldn't take it in any thereby earning angry and curious glances from those in the restaurant. Thank God it's still morning else I might not make it out without being embarrassed. With that ,they sat down quietly and calmly. We soon placed our orders and ate in silence that I almost choke on my meal. Kenneth paid for the meal and Charles took my hands into his leading me to his car again but then stopped abruptly. He turned my face to his , placed his big hands on my waist and pulled me closer to himself that my breath hitched. He slowly lowered his lips to mine and kissed my lips so hard. The kiss was alluring, it was so captivating. He kissed me slowly at first then it became rough, demanding and teasing,his tongue invaded mine and played with it . After the kiss,he bit my lower lip and bite my neck . It all happened so soon that I could not retaliate it. He pulled outta the kiss and carried me into his car in a bridal way.

"Gross"I thought to myself awkwardly wearing a faint smile on my face. But then,my heart dropped,it seems he did that to tell Kenneth to stay off me . It then dawned on me that Kenneth was watching us all the while,annoyed ,I hit Charles who was now in the driver's seat and cursed at him angrily "I hate you,I hate everything about you,why did you do that Charles, you are a fucking bastard,what gave you the audacity to kiss me in a public place you sly fox,Hun?,tell me ". "Baby,what do you mean?, aren't you my wife?,did I need to get anyone's consent to kiss you?,why cursing me when am sure you enjoyed every bit of it"came the infatuated Charles reply and I could say nothing. The truth is I loved the kiss but I can't admit it to him ,I can feel my face heating up in embarrassment.

The drive to work was silent and so uncomfortable like I guessed and I couldn't wait to get out of his car. We arrived at work at last and unfortunately for me,my co-workers were outside. They encircled me the minute I gat out of the car and could not help but Ogle at Charles.

"Gosh, your husband is so hot, luck you Linda"

"How come I find him familiar,oh no , don't tell me he's the fifth most powerful young man in Kentucky, Charles Williams,honey you are more than Lucky.

"I can't believe you are married to my dream man ,it seems he loves you so much that he's so possessive. If you treat him bad ,I will spank your butts for you and give you a hard time in the company".

I allowed them to say what was on their minds and was about to walk away when I felt a man's hand tighten around my waist and my face blushed crimson. "Don't go around having fun with your boss and wait for me here at night,I would like to introduce my girlfriend to you later tonight"he whispered into the shells of my ear. He then made me face him and pecked me lightly on the lips before driving off and my co-workers kept squirming.

Gawd , I can't believe what Charles just told me. Did my co-workers just tell me that am lucky?, am the real opposite of it. Which kind of husband tells his wife that trash?.

He's nothing but a self-centred unabased, heinous and totally unscrupulous freak. I gat this man more than anything that I feel like squeezing his neck to death .Mr Williams,it better you watch out for your wife cos I can be cool but also be a great gangster some times.
