chapter 4 Strange things Love can do to a man

        On getting to her place ,I gat down to open the door for her. She invited me in but I declined and told her I would do so when she agrees to be my girlfriend and she chuckled softly hitting my shoulders playfully. 

       Vivian Tyler is the only one person that understand me all the time . She was the apple of my eyes when we were at school and I always take pleasure at scaring guys away from her. Some of my friends still call her my school sweetheart. She's always willing to hear me out even now and always carry out her assignments dutifully. "What can I do without my childhood sweetheart?, absolutely nothing"I thought grinning to myself as I pulled up at the gate of my house.

       I got in and met my parents staring expectantly at the clock. "Good evening everyone"I greeted and was hit with the news that my wife is yet to return from work. I checked the time and it was already nine-twenty-two.  What the hell is taking her so long?. I hissed and went to change into my night dress.

        Mom told me to pick her up at work that it might be possible she can't find cab on time since she didn't go to work with her car and I hissed again in impotent fury. I don't think I understand this woman at all,did she mean I should pick up a cheating slut that happens to be my wife all thanks to them that called themselves my parents who is always having my interest at mind?. Nay, I don't understand the language they are speaking not to talk of what it means. "I can't,I just can't..."I told my mom coldly and she shrank back into the cushion she's sitting on.

         After about an hour,we all started pacing about. Everyone including my very self started dialling her phone number and her office intercom but none of them was reachable. I forgot about the report my personal assistant gave me and started praying for her safety. Never have I gotten extremely worried because of a woman. I took my car keys when I couldn't wait anymore with the thought that I had to get my wife crowding my brain and I realised I wouldn't be myself if she didn't get back into the house today. Not caring about the fact that I was wearing a my night dress,I dashed out of the house . Mom,dad and Anna volunteered to come with me and I agreed to it ,we all got inside the car and I drove speedily to her office only to be told that she had gone home just now.

     We all sighed and I hurriedly told them that she was my wife and we had come to search for her cos she haven't come home. They were in awe and had told me it's possible she's at home now because she left some minutes before we arrived that I should give her a call but I couldn't,her phone number was unreachable . I thanked them and gat into my car with others following suit. No one dared to break the silence not even my talkative momma. 

       When we gat home,she was still no-where to be found and mom didn't stop expressing her discomfort telling me it might be because I drove speedily home . I decided not to bother arguing with her because it's gonna be pointless,no one,not even dad wins when he argues with mom . I took my sit beside dad peacefully and Anna excused herself to tidy up her room.

        No sooner had I started chatting with boards of directors in my second company that I heard the horn of a car . I had quickly suspended the meeting which is so unusual of me and gat up to check who it is through the window blinds. What I saw was so shocking,it was Linda and her boss. He had held open the door of the car for her and kissed her forehead just like people do when on dates before driving off .

     A slight warm touch on my shoulder and it dawned on me that dad and mom were beside me. "You brought this upon your self son ,if you had treated her so well,am sure she won't go on a date with another man"my annoying mother had said and I hissed. Can't she see things from a goodside ?,I wonder who her child really is and doubts if I was really her son . She's always on Linda's side all the time .

          I withdrew back to the chair and my parents did the same . Linda came in after some minutes, greeted my parents,mom asked her about who brought her home and she simply told that it was her boss. 

    She gat into the kitchen and cooked dinner of fried yam and sauce.

        We ate silently at the dining room and she excused herself after wishing everyone goodnight.

"Charles,stop being so cold to your wife , ladies wants to be cherished,cared for and loved by their husbands. If you continue this way, am scared Linda would opt out of the marriage"dad had advised and I gave him a curt reply of "okay". 

   Anna promises mom to make friends with Linda and convince her not to think of leaving me . With that ,Mom felt at ease and was glad. 

         I excused myself and went inside my room. I logged in to the internet and chatted my personal assistant till around 1:00am . I later laid on my bed and doze off.

KENNETH BLACK point of view

    I had called to pick my marketer up today and realised my heart beats in a really strange way whenever she calls me love . I also heard she is in an arranged marriage and doesn't love her husband so am thinking of confessing my feelings to her today. My secretary had told me to jump at this opportunity and make good use of it but the hell I don't know how to. 

      Well,am Kenneth Black. A handsome man in his early twenties. I've got lots of  ladies chrushing on me and some do think of me as a semi-god. I have a wife (Lucy)but she lives abroad, New York in London to be precise and she doesn't plan to live here at Kentucky on the basis that it is not as civilised as New York is . Practically, all I need to do is get another wife and divorce her. I've been making advances towards Linda but she doesn't seem to notice it at all,so today ,am thinking of confessing my feelings to her . She was my very good friend and first love but ever since she started working at my company as a marketer, the relationship between us was severed. I had rushed into marriage with Lucy Weintraub because my parents told me I would not be made CEO of their company if am yet to settle down,we didn't even organise a proper wedding party then ,we just went to court and were pronounced husband and wife.

       I pulled up at her home and a dashing beauty stepped out of the house. Linda looked so stunning even in a business suit,her hair was down only one ear was exposed,on it she wore a dazzling silver earring which fits with the cool blue suit she wore. She was full of smiles which made her dimples show . The suit she wore clung tightly to her luscious body showing her curves perfectly well,on her legs was a silver shoe which made her posture well poised and in her hand was a tiny fashion bag .

      Linda looked so good without any facial makeover which is not common in ladies nowadays. I got down from my car and walked towards her ,her husband was about getting into his car so she introduced us to each other. I couldn't resist her body scent and had scooped her up in my arms carrying her into my car. I thought her husband will at least say harsh words to me or beat me to death but to my very surprise ,he made no comments about it . I waved him goodbye and drove outta the compound,we had talked randomly in the car and Linda laughed all the while. Everything about her is unique,even her laugh can drive a man crazy with need.

      She resumed to her office when we get to work and I must say I wanted the little moment we shared to last forever. I just wanna be with her and I wasn't happy when we had to resume to our various offices.

       My secretary had asked about my moody face and I didn't waste time hiding it from her. I told it to her and she nudged me to confess to Linda as soon as possible.

       Disturbed,I went into my office and tried concentrating on my work but God!!!!!!, I couldn't focus, Linda's scent still lingered on my coat and I could feel her presence around me.

     I was still thinking about Linda when I heard a knock. "Come right in"I said and found Linda in front of me.

     She had removed her suit jacket and was looking so sexy . She told me she wanted to show me some things and wanted me to go through it but my mind was not in whatever she was saying and I Said no,"No ,why don't you let me go through you instead"which came as a shock to me as well.

        She said she didn't understand what I said so I grabbed the opportunity and confessed my feelings to her. I took her hands in mine and stroke it affectionately waiting for her to say something,then my secretary brought me some files I had told her to work on but I was in no mood to attend to her . I didn't let go of Linda's hand and when she turned to leave,I told her to stay that I was only discussing with their boss's girlfriend to be .

     Linda told me she needed time and that she don't think it can work out. Hell!!, I don't want to hear that Linda statement from her. When it dawned on me that she was still shivering from shock,I walked up to her and hugged her tightly. I told her to think things through carefully,I then withdraw from the hug and sat on the chair pulling her to my lap.
