Chapter 1 - Escaping from the Breguet's Mansion

"Would you want it served bare or clothed?"

Ivanna felt nauseous inside her stomach as she listened to what the chief servant referred to as a dish. It was another slave being emancipated to the Youngest Master of the Breguet family as a meal.

Slaves were dined as food for the nobles. They were molested and fucked, which often led to death, but the nobles never felt any concern. To them, humans were just food and sex slaves.

Ivanna continued to swab the floor as she stared daggers at the young master as he walked down the stairs she just mopped. He didn't even care if it was recently wiped and stepped on with his blood-clothed shoes.

The Young Master walked towards an elderly man, his father, and sat on the chair across from him. Ivanna knew they were about to talk business. And when that's about to happen, everybody leaves the room. Including other nobles.

So she thanked her stars and picked up her bucket, before striding towards the exit door. She hissed inaudibly as she felt a pain in her waist. Being on the ground for hours had made her waist almost stiff.

She made her way directly toward the servants' quarters since she wanted to avoid the wrath of the chief servant. She was supposed to wipe the floor completely before the business talk between the father and son commenced.

"Fleeing again, aren't you," A female said with a smirk connected to her lips. She was Mildred, one of the females that never goes along with her. Well, it wasn't their fault, she wasn't brought into the palace like the rest of them. She was bought, or rather, given as a pet to the youngest master to rear since she was just nine at that time. She had tried to run to the Northern Empire, a place her mother was from, to escape a brutal marriage arrangement. Her parents were trying to get her engaged at such a young age instead of her older sister.

The man was much older than her, and if she grows up to a respectable age to marry, then he'll be a grandpa by then since he already had a few wives and mature children.

Well, she never expected to be captured in a faraway empire and sold to an elderly bald man who then gave her as a gift to the young master to win favors with him. But none of them knew she was a princess. No one knew her here.

At age nineteen now, the mansion had shown her different aspects of torture. But the only privilege she had and the others didn't, was that the Young Master denied everyone from drinking from her. So right now, a fang hasn't touched her.

"I'm not a lazy lass like yourself, Mildred," Ivanna tried to walk past Mildred, but Mildred wasn't planning on letting the issue slide peacefully.

"Lazy?" Mildred chuckled and walked slowly around Ivanna. "Don't tell me you think being in the young master's bedroom and serving his animalistic needs means you're hardworking," She cracked up. "You're nothing but a whore like the rest of them."

No matter how angry Ivanna was, she covered it up with a smile. She walked closer to Mildred with a piercing gaze. "Animalistic needs? I didn't know his needs were animalistic, nor did the others. Except if you've gotten a taste of it yourself."

Mildred shrugged. "I'm not that cheap, I might be a servant like the rest of you, but my class Is way better." She bragged. "And don't tell me you didn't know his needs were animalistic, he's a beast in bed, and we all know. And that's because he's a beast in reality."

"But I've never thought that," Ivanna forged an innocent look in her eyes, angering Mildred. "Does he kill the ladies in bed? Is that why you and the others think he's a beast in bed?"

This annoyed Mildred. She gave a hard glare at Ivanna and walked away, right after she hissed.

Ivanna shrugged and walked into her room. Inside the room had only a tiny space, the rooms were built almost like cages. Or they were cages, since the Butler had told her the Mansion used to have many cages.

It would be dark sooner than expected due to the rain that fell earlier today. Ivanna stared out of her window and sighed into the air. She was tired of staying here. She wanted to be reunited with her family and the servants. Her parents might think she's dead now.

That night she slept without dinner. The chief servant had refused to give her food because she wasn't able to finish wiping.

Later that night, alarm bells went off. The entire Mansion was in chaos.

Ivanna jerked off her bed hearing the terrible sounds. She glanced out of her window and noticed the guards in a defending stance. What was happening?

She fiddled her eyes to chase the sleep away. Servants weren't supposed to leave their room during such an occasion. But she had planned for this moment for a long time. Time to be free.

The commotions were caused by rogues. It attacks almost every pure-blood family in the West. This made tourists clear away from the west. It was said to be a land of death.

The Rogue vampires were created, but by who? All it takes is for a golden-flower to turn a healthy vampire into a blood tasty monster. But the King had made sure the entire Empire was free of them.

And she was taking this to her advantage. Before the guards could get rid of the rogues completely, she would be halfway out of the empire. Leaving safely wasn't her problem, she knew the empire like the back of her hand.

She tugged off her bed and stepped hurriedly towards her box at the side of the room. She picked up the small backpack at the top of the suitcase. It contained food and a few other clothes; maybe a pair or two. She needed to make a move before the rogues were taken down.

She opened her door silently not to alert other servants and tiptoed towards the back door. She had a spare key to unlock that door. And as she moved closer to it, she noticed it was empty. Lucky for her. She quickly unlocked the door and ran out.

She ran at full speed as she had noticed a girl at the corner watching her. It was Mildred. Mildred had seen her escape.

The bushes slapped her face as she ran. Her breathing hitched when she noticed the rogues not far from her. She didn't know if the pitch-black eyes were more terrifying than the pure bright red eyes of the pure-blood vampires. They would bite her and turn her into a Rogue human, and she'll die in less than two weeks. So to avoid them, she jumped into the almost invincible hole covered by grasses. The hole had a tunnel that led straight out of the empire, although it was covered with filth.

She crawled out of the hole with a stinky smell, but she didn't care as she ran away from the empire to find refuge.

As she glanced behind her while she ran, she didn't get to turn and look ahead of her when a relaxed voice came.

"I don't suppose you lost your way, troublemaker,"

Her legs missed their step alongside her heart as she slammed heavily on the ground. She dreaded looking at the direction the voice came through.

She was caught, and that too by him.

She was Dead.
