Chapter 2- Caught

Ivanna chewed her lower lips not to grumble in pain as the tether around her wrist tightened with each step she took. She was tied against a moving carriage that belongs to the Young Master. He didn't kill her as she thought, rather, he was attempting to make her walk through a crowd filled with deranged vampires.

She preferred a painless death to a demise rendered of ripped flesh by insane vampires. The option here was for her to survive, and she wasn't seeing a way that would happen. She had no fighting tools or power nor strength and speed like the vampires. She was a simple human.

She dreaded the day she fled her beautiful Mansion and maids at her call just to escape a marriage to an old man. Marrying the old man back then seemed a better option in her eyes now.

The carriage wasn't moving at high speed, thankfully, but her veins were hurting at how tight the tethers were clutching to her wrist.

Just then something sprinted past. She may not be as fast as the purebloods or vampires, but she'd seen too many not to know them.

A deranged vampire just ran past the carriage. And she noticed his blood-clothed fangs. The carriage wasn't even halfway into the empire yet, and a deranged vampire was already attempting to raid.

Her head swung from side to side as she glanced behind her with fear. The thoughts of her head soon to be ripped out lingered in her mind.

And just then…

BANG!

One of the deranged hit the carriage and growled. Ivanna shivered from the hit. But the door of the carriage only opened and pushed the vampire away. The Young Master inside didn't seem to care that his carriage was soon to be surrounded by deranged vampires.

"Y-young Master…" Ivanna's voice trailed as she called. "They are here," She whispered, hoping the Young Master would have a change of heart and let her Into the carriage. But the young master only snorted.

"And so? You aren't dead yet, are you?"

Ivanna's blood ran cold. It was always infertile trying to plead for your life when the young master was involved.

She didn't get to breathe properly when a body hit her from behind, causing her to collide with the back of the carriage. Blood crawled down her nose and tears filled her eyes. Her head hurts, but she wasn't gonna cry. The Young Master derives pleasure from many sadist things, and tears are one of them.

Before she could stabilize her body, a cold rigid pair of hands grabbed her neck from behind and brought her neck close to his body. Blood dripped on Ivanna's neck as a result of the blood on the deranged vampire's teeth. The vampire bent his head with fast speed on Ivanna's neck to take a bite, but then,

BANG!

Ivanna screamed as she heard the loud sound. She lifted her head and realized the hole in the vampire's heart. Her eyes traced the place the sound had come from, and she saw him, the young master with a gun filled with silver bullets pointing at the deranged vampire. His eyes were serene so also his mood. He didn't even glance at her and entered back into the carriage.

The carriage soon resumed trotting, the young master didn't even consider getting her into the carriage after that incident. As they entered the empire, Ivanna realized the deranged had been taken care of. Her mind calmed a little knowing her life had been spared from the deranged vampires. But who was gonna save her from the young master?

The carriage stopped at the entrance of the empire, the Mansion was dimly lit after the deranged vampires' appearance. The cold weather didn't have mercy on her as her tattered clothes let the cold air into her body.

The Young Master clutched onto the edge of her tether and pulled her into the Mansion. He hadn't said a word after what he said back then.

Soon she realized he wasn't taking her to her quarter, rather he was taking her to his main bedroom. No one had ever been to his main bedroom. Everyone, except his father, was banned from that room. So it was then marked as the devil's hell in the Mansion.

Nothing good comes out of that room.

"I expected a smarter move from you, not escaping." He paused as he opened the door to the bedroom. He pushed open the door and dragged her inside. He gestured at the small cage she noticed at the side of the room. "Get inside and sleep,"

This was getting too easy. Knowing the young master, he wasn't one to let an issue slide easily. She glanced with cautious looks as she walked closer to the cage. It was unlocked, so she entered.

"Lock it," He requested, and she jammed the padlock on the cage.

He turned around and walked to his bed. He didn't even take off his bloody coat and slid into his bed. Ivanna couldn't tell if he had a scheme inside his head.

But soon enough, the cage began to shrink. It wasn't big to begin with, but its shrinking would smash her. It was built with heavy metals.

"M-master…" She whispered carefully not to wake him with a loud voice. He was known for his short temper. "T-the- ahh!" She felt her nail squeeze against the bar. She covered her groan and raised her head to resume calling the young master. But she realized his eyes were open. He was watching her in pain with zero expression. "Help…"

Just when she thought it was about to grind her, the cage stopped shrinking. It had become very small, causing her to fold. She noticed the young master's eyes roaming the cage before he turned his back on her.

___________

The next day, Ivanna was sent out to the town by the young master to buy a red ruby he lost while returning with her. And no place sells such an item except the black market.

Such items weren't sent by a servant to buy them, the Mansion had special people assigned for such errands due to dangers. But yet, he requested her to get it.

As she walked past a blind man on the street, she paused when she heard what he said,

"You aren't gonna make it far, little girl, he's never going to free you." She tried to ignore his words, but he said again. "He ain't what you all think he is, you have to run while you still can. He's a-"

Bang!

A bullet was shot straight into his head. Ivanna slams her fingers around her mouth not to scream. She looked around to see where the bullet came from, but everybody seemed to be minding their business, Not caring if a man had just been shot dead in the middle of the street.
