Jennifer changed the subject. "By the way, where are the gloves you said you'd give me?"

Quincy cheerfully took them out. "Here. Do you like them?"

The gloves were made with red wool. There were even two white deer antlers sewn on it. It was adorable.

Jennifer was touched. "They're beautiful. Thank you, Quincy."

Quincy blushed at Jennifer's sincerity and waved her off. "You're too kind. They're not worth much, anyway."

Jennifer put the gloves on. "How do I look?"

"You look great." Quincy smiled. "See, this is how it should be. We girls should treat ourselves better and not be affected by those who aren't worth it, right?"

Jennifer knew what she meant.

She looked at the warm gloves and recalled the messages Laura sent her every few days.

Jennifer consoled herself. There were still many wonderful things to focus on. She shouldn't let the past tie her down.

To cheer her up, Quincy suggested, "How about this? Let's take an afternoon nap and watch a movie tonight."
