Hopeful fantasies

After what felt like hours of intense conversation and emotional revelations, a rumbling from my stomach broke the seriousness of the atmosphere. The sound was undeniable, and I glanced down at my belly, a blush of embarrassment coloring my cheeks. To my relief, laughter bubbled up among us, a much-needed release that lightened the air.

Feeling the pangs of hunger now more pronounced, I addressed the group with a rueful smile, "I think I should head to the cafeteria to grab something to eat."

Ava, who had been a comforting presence throughout the discussion, nodded in agreement, "You really should!" Her concern was evident, her eyes reflecting amusement and empathy.

She then glanced at her own watch, a small frown crossing her faceas she considered the time. "Actually, I need to get going myself; I have things to get done," Ava announced, a hint of reluctance in her voice.

I felt a pang of disappointment at her departure but covered it with gratitude. "No problem at all, I'm so happy
