“You can move into Harriet’s place. I can speak to her on your behalf.” Mary said, offering me a light smile that didn't reach her eyes.

I shook my head. “I… I don't think so. I don't want to be a burden to anyone.” I told her. I was already an orphan and a divorced ex-wife now. Not the glorified useless Scott’s daughter.

This morning, I prayed mentally in my subconscious that last night was a dream and that it wasn't true but after opening my eyes to see the damage I had done to the room last night, I knew it was real. What more? The empty glass of wine that lay on the ground reminded me of the reason behind my heavy headache.

“You are not a burden to anyone… and especially not to me.” Harriet entered the kitchen, handing a file over to me. I knew by instinct what the file was and with shaky hands, I collected it from her.

So soon?

“He sent it through a lawyer. He is waiting to take back a copy of it.” She informed me. “And yes, he said Sean reduced the moving out date. Tomorrow is the deadline.” She grimaced.

Guess his mistress was done being patient with him then.

Clearing my mind and exhaling deeply, I took a pen from Mary’s pocket and signed on it, catching sight of Sean’s signature there. He had planned this for a long time, and I soon realized that.

I closed it, handing the file back to her. She pursed her lips, taking it from me then headed back to the door. I noticed they were talking about something and her brows seemed to crease before she glanced back at me before turning her face. She closed the door and came back to us.

“What is the issue?” Mary asked her, returning the cup to the rack.

“He said Sean has decided to give you an alimony of one million dollars and a house in Dallas.” She said, smiling as if that was to relieve me.

Always. He never saw me as a wife but as his younger sister and this act was done out of pity.

My eyes twitched as a tear peppered it. I sniffed in, looking away and sighing. “I don't need his money or his house.”I gritted out, feeling anger waves curl around my fist.  All I wanted was his heart but he refused to give me that.

“But I think you should take it. Don't be foolish, Glory. I know Sean hurt you and I would want nothing else for you than to take anything that was his but… you need it as well. You can sell it and move to somewhere far away.” Harriet suggested, shrugging.

That was also a good idea.

I said nothing as Mary offered me a bowl of fruits to eat which I ate in silence.

Packing and moving out have been the order of my day and guess what, Sean didn't return home to check on me. He maintained his distance from me and I was grateful that he didn't let the media know about our divorce. It would stain his name.

The fact that he cheated? Oh, I shook my head, imagining the damage that would be done to the Kingston family.

I heeded Mary’s advice to move into Harriet’s house since Sean hadn't really given me the access to his house in Dallas and I couldn't be waiting to be evicted by the guards he had sent. Or Clara sent?

“Anyway, this is the bathroom and if you need anything, you can let me know. The kitchen, you saw it. And yes, you should always close your window because the cold breeze here isn't for the weak, okay?” She raised her brows, giving me a skeptical look.

“I know it is a small space unlike what you are used to, Glory but you should try to—”

“I like it.” I cut her off, turning to her. “It gives the peace of mind I want. I am sorry for making it seem like I was… anyway, thank you so much, Harriet. I can't appreciate you enough.” I took her hands into mine and gave it a little tug.

I didn't want to feel emotional but the little stray tear that slipped down my cheek made me close my eyes. Because I was sure that rivers will flow soon.

“It is nothing. You have been kind to us as well.” She wiped away the tears and I opened my eyes.

“I have to get back to work. Take care and make sure you get a lot of rest. The fridge is packed. You can make yourself something.” She picked up her purse, giving me one last smile before exiting the house.

I slumped on the chair, remembering that even Mary and the girls didn't know I was pregnant. No one knew and I wanted it to stay that way. I would take care of my kids myself and surprise them all.

My phone beeped with a message alert and I stared down at it. Swiping it to the left, the screen unlocked, and Sophia’s name was displayed on the screen.

You are divorced?- SOPHIA

I let out a hiss before looking away. Another message beeped in and this time I picked up my phone to give her the insult of her life when I saw a video footage of Sean and his father, Drey, in his office.

I didn't want to click on play but like they say, curiosity kills the cat. I clicked on it.

“I am highly disappointed in you!” His father hit the desk, rising to his feet as he glared daggers at his favorite son.

Sean snorted. “Disappointed? I should be the one to be disappointed!” He yelled back, tugging at his tie as he approached his father’s desk.

“You made me get married to a mediocre girl because you wanted me to inherit the Scott Empire and guess what? It went wrong and I had to endure five years of staying with his useless, good for nothing daughter even though all I wanted to do was send her out of my life!” He snarled.

My jaw went slack as I heard the recording. The only reason he got married to me was because of the inheritance which was not mine at the beginning! So all of it was a lie!

My husband. It has been five years of pure bliss with him and today clocked our fifth anniversary. Coupled with that, I have great news for him which I know he would be glad to hear. Maybe it was the little bundles of joy I carried in my belly that were causing this but… a knock rapped on the door, interrupting my thoughts. I twirled around, seeing as Mary stepped into the room, her mouth widening almost immediate
