Chapter 617

The interior of the house had more or less returned to its original state. However, the repairs on some of the modified decorations of the house exterior still needed some time.

At the dinner table, Ruth poked at the food in her bowl. Her eyes were downcast, and she was lost in thought.

George passed her a spare rib. “Finish your meal, then hurry home after you’re done. You still have work tomorrow, so there’s no need to linger here.”

Ruth thought. “Grandpa, that’s cold!”

But she said seriously, “Grandpa, I still think this place is too far away. It’s not good for you to stay here.”

George’s hand paused. He looked into her eyes and did not answer. Her words did not sound like she was trying to persuade him to go back to Kingsland Manor with her.

“We understand that you’re nostalgic, so we won’t force you to stay with us,” Ruth continued, “But the Goldwell family’s mansion is where we used to live. You could consider moving there!”
