The idiot woke up from her sleep with no recollection of what she had been dreaming about.
Yes, you already know I am Ginny. I woke up feeling like I just recovered from a night of drinking and it wasn’t a good feeling. My head felt heavy and the vein in my temple throbbed badly. When I tried to open my eyes, I realized my lashes were crusty and that was when it all came back to me.
I cried to sleep last night and it was all because of what Leo said. Even now with the early morning taste in my mouth, I still felt the urge to cry some more. It hurt really bad, so bad that I thought my chest was going to cave in. Was Leo so blind to everything Emerald did to me since I got into the school? I guess I shouldn’t blame him, she is after all his next challenge. When he gets into her pussy, he will move on to the next, maybe Jeannie and Lizzie.
Why does he hate me so much? Can’t he see how much he means to me?
And then what happened next?
I couldn’t remember as I stood up from the floor where I had obviously fallen asleep. And that was when I noticed that my laptop was on the table. And it was on.
I know I didn’t turn on my laptop last night. As I rose from the floor I noted with a shocking realization that the window above my bed was open and the curtains bellowed in the breeze. I ran to my window to shut it, casting a quick glance at the clock, it was 5:45 am, 15 minutes until I have to wake up. When I reached out to pulled the windows shut I realized that clouds had gathered, very obvious even in the dark sky. I pulled the windows shut and almost immediately a strong wind blew rattling them.
I turned back to the mystery of my laptop. Who came into my room and why? Whoever it was left my window open and I realized that it was the sound of the wind in my window that woke me up.
Now the mystery of the laptop.
I pulled my chair back and took a seat at my desk. My charger was plugged in as it had been last night and when I touched the mouse lightly the percentage of my battery was 30%. So whoever it was just left then?
Maybe it was Leo?
Could he be snooping around to know what I thought about Emerald besides her being a bitch?
But Leo wouldn’t do that.
Would he? My mind argued. After all he had accused me of being small-minded and rude to Emerald even though everything that happened was all her fault.
I sat there for a few seconds staring at the screen of my laptop and after a while noticed the opened search engine in the search box.
I clicked on it surprised to find that someone has logged into a social media account and was interacting on the class group chat as a stranger.
“What was so interesting in the class group chat?” I wondered out loud scanning the screen with my eyes. The last message has been sent 5:00 in the morning and it was a laughing emoji. I scrolled up to see what laughter had been for.
It was just a bunch of jokes at first about Emerald and her crew. The message was so much that for a long time, I read them and found nothing interesting I’m them until my eyes began to hurt.
Then I saw it.
‘Ginny definitely did it. She called her a bitch after all.’
I frowned and leaned forward.
‘I know she did it but honestly she had it coming and I agree with Ginny, I think we all agree with Ginny, Emerald was and is a bitch!’
I continued to scroll, my heart beating as the memories came back. Emerald was found after school at the bottom of the assembly hall sprawled in an unnatural angle. Her neck was twisted and even to the inexperienced eye, it was obvious she died from that fall.
Which meant…
It meant Emerald was dead!
But my classmates clearly thought it was a joke because there edits of the accident image with different captions.
Someone had edited the picture with a bottle of wine in Emerald’s hand and several other bottles around her and captioned it: Felt drunk might delete later.
Someone else even made an edit with a doodle of a dick on her right eye and one on her exposed thigh and the caption read: Open on Thursdays, credit cards only.
I guess they were supposed to be funny but death is no joke and I couldn’t laugh at any of the cruel jokes. Emerald may be bitch but she’s a human being and she at least deserves some respect. Unable to take the sickening cruel jokes about her anymore, I turned my laptop off and pushed it aside. Just as I was about to get up from the chair, I thought better of it and swiped the thin laptop into my arms instead, heading to my closet to locked it in one of the drawers on my dresser.
If someone was coming into my room to use my laptop they will have a hard time finding my laptop. That being said I must close my door and windows more securely next time.
Everyone in the mansion denies coming into my room, no problem, I’ll make sure they never have any reason to come in again.
I had just hidden my laptop, got into the bathroom to have my bath and I was getting out with my towel, getting ready for school when someone knocked at my door.
I wanted to tell whoever it was to get the hell away when Maggie’s voice came softly through the door.
“Ginny? Are you there?”
“I reluctantly responded. “Yes I am.”
“Can I come in?”
“The door is locked.”
There was a long paused and she called again, her voice sounding even closer. “Will you open the door?”
“Why do you want to come in?” I queried as I got into my uniform and laced up my boots.
“I want to talk.”
I discarded my towel and made my way to open the door. There she was in the pyjamas I gave her this past Christmas. She had a small smile on her face so I guess this is her idea of the perfect mother to daughter binding moment.
I offered her a smile and her eyes immediately drifted to my head.
“Leo told me about what happened.”
I stepped back for her to enter. “Did he also tell you about why my hair was cut so short in front of my classmates? They want me to be like everyone else but I am not everyone else.”
“I know that. I understand that, that’s why I have made up my mind, you don’t have to go to school anymore. You can take off that uniform and let them deal with their consciences for doing this to you.”
I opened my mouth aghast. “You are not mad?”
“I am mad,” she nodded. “But not at you. I am mad at the idiots who did this to you. I’ll sue them…”
“Not so fast,” I laughed at the vehemence in her voice. “They will hate me even more if you do that.”
“But they are trying to crush your spirit. Ginny, you are different and that is fine, it is wonderful!”
“Leo doesn’t think so. He thinks I should blend in.”
Maggie sighed. Leo and I was a sour topic for her. “Ginny I have told you, a guy like Leo doesn’t deserve you. He doesn’t even see how much you love him.”
I tried not to cry. “And it hurts.”
“It only hurts because you let it. You expect him to love you, you expect him to notice your feelings for you and return them and that’s why you are disappointed. Let him go. Aren’t there better boys at school?”
I nodded even though I never really noticed any of them.
Maggie moved closer to clean my eyes and I’m sure she smeared my eyeliner in the process because the corner of her lips turned down but I didn’t care.
“Stay at home today.”
“I can’t,” I shook my head and decided to tell her why. “The girl in school had a pretty nasty accident and everyone thinks I did it. If I don’t show up they’ll think I’m guilty.”
I expected her to ask, ‘Did you do it?’ but she frowned.
“That’s a stupid thing to think. You’ll never hurt a fly.”
I couldn’t hold it anymore. I jumped into her arms and hugged her, letting the tears flow freely. I felt her smile against my shoulder.
“It’s okay, honey,” she whispered and smoothed my bald head. “It’s okay.”
I tried to nod but Maggie is slightly shorter than me so my chin ended up hitting her shoulder.
“Stay home, I’ll send a notice to school…”
I pulled back. “No, don’t worry about it. I’ll go to school and face the haters.”
She searched my face and after a while nodded and stepped back. “You are a big girl, but I want you to know that if you can’t take it, just give me a call and I’ll come pick you up.”
I tried to smile through my tears. “You won’t send Noah?”
“No because I need to beat your principal with a bat over the head for doing this to my baby.”
I laughed. Could this be happening? Could it be that I was opening up to someone for the first time in my life?
Leo was downstairs having breakfast and he was sort of taking his time since the rain was still coming down heavily. I ignored breakfast because I didn’t want to sit at the table with him, I might just kill him if I do.I went into the kitchen instead where Maggie was holding a blueberry muffin for me.“I had a feeling you were going to skip breakfast this morning.”“I’ll be fine.” But I took the muffin and took a bite before dropping it on the kitchen counter in favor of a bottle of water. For some reason I couldn’t stomach food and it had everything to do with Emerald’s death. How can Leo who is actually friends with her bear to eat?“Should I keep that for later?” Maggie asked worried.“Uh – uh,” I said.I just couldn’t wait to get out of the house and so I snapped the hood of my sweater over my head and went outside to the garage through the kitchen door. Noah was waiting as always, dressed in suit, again. Almost immediately all thoughts about Emerald flew out of the window and I
Still not saying a word to each other, Leo and I got out of the car and made our way into the school building. There was a change in the atmosphere and was expected and everyone was silently moving from the front doors to the assembly hall. And in the assembly hall the administrators and teachers stood on the stage waiting as students filled in the seats. I went upstairs leaving Leo behind and took a seat away from him. My other classmates began to troop into the hall and leading then was Parker, Todd, Keith, Lizzie and Jeannie. Jeannie’s nose was red as if she had been blowing her nose all night but strangely her eyes were as dry as a desert. She looked up and saw Leo and immediately left her group of friends to hook her arm through his, that was the only time any sign of tears appeared in her eyes as she clung to him. “It’s so awful,” I heard her say. “I don’t think I can stand being here knowing that only a few hours ago Emerald had an accident here.” She turned her big blue eyes
“Did Parker just leave after spending like 10 minutes with you?”I looked up to see Lindsay’s awe. She looked like Taylor Swift just offered her a ticket to her concert. She pushed the chair Parker just stood up from and very reverently lowered herself on it. I fought hard against rolling my eyes. Any second from now she might get home and take the chair to a museum because you know, Parker Farrell sat on it.“He did. What about that?”“I didn’t expect him to move on so soon and even if he was, I didn’t think you would be his next option.”I eyed her from the corner of my eyes. “Did ever occur to you that he came to pickup from where his girlfriend stopped?”She shrugged. “I don’t know, it never did. Maybe because Todd came over to talk to me. I didn’t think he even knew my name but he congratulated me on my promotion from C to A class.”I watched her go on and on about Todd while my mind drifted off to Parker. He was on his seat and Keith and come to join him. They were talking and l
By two in the afternoon the bell went off. Our next period was gym class. When we picked our subjects for our entrance exam into Princeton, I skipped gym because I kinda thought it would be unfair to surpass these poor human kids with my supernatural powers. Leo was on the football team. I don’t know how he plans to manage his powers when he has to play in slow motion with pathetic human speed.I’m sure he will figure it out though. He is not my concern right now.My target was moving out of class and I made sure I got behind him while still keeping a safe distance away. I didn’t want to lose him in case he slipped into the shadows or hid among students moving up and down the hall. Also the last thing I want is for him to notice I was onto him.I knew where he was heading to but I just couldn’t let him out of my sight. He turned around a corner same as other people. I did the same but waited a few feet behind so that he wouldn’t sense me. After a few minutes of walking we passed anoth
I jerked my arm free from Colin’s hold as soon as he swung the door of the art room close. The place smelled of paint and wood and brushes and many of the easels were covered with tarps. The place looked airy since it was currently not in use, which was why the windows were shut.At least Colin hadn’t locked the door. Even if he did I’m sure that whatever he is I am faster than him with my wolf powers.“What’s the big idea?” I demanded.“The fact that you’re stalking me or the fact that you are surprise I actually noticed?”“That’s not an answer to my question,” I said defensively.“Why are you following me?”I scoffed. “What makes you think I am following you, Colin?” I crossed my hands in front of me and glared at him. “What do you have to hide?”He didn’t answer quickly. He was careful, watching my face as if he was trying to decide how much I knew. Not much from my perspective. In fact, I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to know. I didn’t know what to think; first his odd behavior
I couldn’t wait for the final bell and when it did ring I grabbed my books and shoved them into my bag, hurrying to get up and leave. If I leave early I can make it and do what I have to do.I know you are curious to know what that is, you will find out soon enough. Right now, I think what I am about to do is extremely dangerous and if I get caught , well, I don’t think I’ll be in too much trouble, I just think everyone in school will think I’m even weirder than they do now.I hurried to the pack and sure enough there was Noah as early as ever. I was about to smile, feeling that rush of warmth in my body again, when my joy was cut short when Miss Aurora ran across the pack to the car. She put her arms around Noah’s neck right in front of everyone who cared to look at them. She was smiling when she pulled back and as I got to them I heard them talking.“Thanks for last night,” she was saying.“It’s nothing,” Noah said in his sexy deep voice.Miss Aurora’s eyes were bright as she looked
I don’t know when the thought came but I remember thinking that whoever Lindsay’s driver is needs to be sacked for not noticing us behind him. If someone was behind us and Noah failed to notice I know I’ll be telling Maggie to replace him. The way it is though, I don’t think Noah will ever be caught lacking. The man is a true wolf and nothing misses his attention. The silver car went off the road and moved along a lone road toward private property and I expected Noah to go after it but surprisingly he went past the private road and continued to drive down. I sat up in the seat to glare at him. “We were following that car!” “And we are still following it.” “Yeah we were until you stopped going after it. It turned a corner right there.” “And that corner leads to a private road. I’m guessing you don’t want the girl in that car knowing that you are trailing her. This is the best way to prevent her from discovering that her classmate is a stalker.” “So how do you intend to find them
I sat back in the seat thinking about what I had just seen. “No, there’s nothing to talk about.” Noah said nothing but I felt his eyes on me when be backed out of the street and went back out through the secret road and joined the main traffic again. I was wrong about Lindsay. I thought she was an annoying rich girl struggling to climb the social ladder in school. I thought she was treating me as a pity case, trying to befriend the outcast like a social savior of some sort. But her life was far from that she was…sad. Very sad. I couldn’t get the image of her toasting her sandwich in the pan and the sound of her tears from my mind. Why was she crying? Did even need to ask? Wasn’t it obvious? The way she hurried to make sure the vase was okay…I don’t know what else to think. I slumped back in the seat and reached into my boots for the note that I stuffed there. Who could have written it? Emerald had many enemies and anyone could be one of them. “Whatever you are thinking about,
Imagine my surprise and satisfaction when I saw that my laptop remained right where I had locked it. At least I know for sure that whoever has been sneaking into my room to use my stuff doesn’t know that I locked it. I should probably keep locking it from now on. As I pulled the laptop out of my drawer I thought about the possibility that it was Stark who had been coming into my room to use my laptop but Maggie had gotten one for her too and I know Stark well enough to know that she wouldn’t use my stuff without telling me. Besides whoever has been using my laptop has been checking stuff about school so that completely rules out any possibility that Stark is behind this. So I have come to one natural conclusion, someone snuck into my room. Whoever that person is is behind the chocolate chips cookies I found in my room and the same person used my computer to log into our class group chat. That person obviously has a grudge against Emerald. Now that one is not a surprise.Emerald has ma
