PROLOGUE

Beep! My phone's alarm keeps on ringing. I pulled it under my pillow and dismissed the alarm quickly not wanting to awake yet but today was the first day of school so I woke up and prepared myself para di ako ma-late. Time flew by and right now nakatayo na ako in front of the school. I looked at my watch para tingan ang oras tsaka napabuntong-hininga ng malalim. Buti nalang, I made it to the place on time. It took me about twenty minutes bago makarating sa school at sakto namang hindi ma-traffic ngayon kaya umabot ako. Di ako late, naglakad na ako palapit sa gate and showed my school ID card to the security and walked towards the entrance.

I was now confused upon seeing Steven sitting at the bench in our school. “Hey, What a pleasant surprise! Anong ginagawa mo dito?” I asked showing my beautiful smile. Steven's face lit up but soon fade away.

“Actually, may sinamahan lang ako dito ngayon but he disappeared and left me here. Ewan ko ba saan na nagpunta iyon.”

“Why is there so much commotion in there?” I asked out of curiosity.

Steven just hummed in response. “I don't know -- it's your school though.”

“Hannah, ingat ka ha?" Steven said in a husky voice. Napakunot-noo tuloy ako dahil sa sinabi nya.

“And why do you say that? We're at school, wala naman siguro aswang dito noh?" I joked.

“Uh! Uh! Don't tell me I didn't remind yah,” he put on an evil smile.

Iniwan ko na siya at naglakad na ako papasok ng hallway nang biglang may bumangga sakin, tinakpan ng panyo ang aking mga mata and shoved me on the wall by my shoulders and crashed his lips on mine against my will for what seemed like three seconds. Pilit akong kumawala sa pagkakayapos sakin but the guy had a strong grip on my waist, stopping me to move further. I tried to push him away para makawala at makita mukha niya but I failed horribly. He was so strong, at saka ko lang na realized na 'yong perfume niya ay parang familiar. I knew someone na gumagamit non walang iba kundi si...Jake.

Jake--? Napalakas yata ang pagkasambit ko ng pangalan niya kaya he finally loosened his grip, inalis ang piring sa mata ko and he stepped aside with a smirk on his lips, aba at nakuha pang kindatan ako. The nerve ng mokong na ito. I really hate his guts and his attitude. Alam kong gwapo siya but he has overconfidence, also cold and arrogant and other people's emotions never really mattered to him.

“Jake Andrew Smithhhhh!" I yelled out his name loudly.

“Yes, Honey?” He looked at me with an evil smile on his face. Gustong-gusto ko na siyang haltakin at sapukin with my bare hands and wipe his smirk off his pretty face pero di pwede baka ma-guidance ako ng wala sa oras dahil nasa school campus kami. I felt the sudden urge to kick him, but I had mercy on him and instead, I slapped his cheek, the smack echoed through the hallway gaining everyone's attention at napalingon ang lahat sa gawi namin. He was completely taken off guard.

“Don't you dare do that agin, di lahat ng gusto mo makukuha mo.” Sinampal ko siya ulit, satisfied with my actions I walked past him ignoring his glare.

“You humiliated me in front of everyone and even slapped me just because I kissed you? Tandaan mo 'to Hannah, I will do everything just to make you mine, no matter what!”

I trembled and my legs were shaking. He can't be serious. I walked out at nakita ko si Steven na nakatulala in front of me. His jaw clinched, I guess he saw everything, siguradong nagtataka siya that Jake do that to me dahil ang alam niya magpinsan kami. Steven just looked at me, magkasalubong ang kilay at kita ko ang lungkot sa kanyang mga mata.

“It's all your fault Steven, Bakit mo siya sinama dito? I thought we're friends, why didn't you ask me first or atleast called me over the phone?”

“I didn't know at all he would do that! I'm sorry Hannah. If I only knew I wouldn't have agreed na samahan sya dito. He begged me sabi nya gusto ka lang niyang makausap kasi umalis ka daw ng di nagsabi sa kanya.”

”Still its your fault.” I said but my hands are shaking in great annoyance.

“I thought you were cousins, so why did he kiss you?” Steven asked and stared at me with those hazel brown eyes.

“Why not ask your best friend, Steven? And please if you dont mind, 'wag na kayong babalik.”

“Hannah wait - -” Steven chased me and grabbed me by the shoulder. “Don't you get mad at me pleaseee?”

I looked at him and removed his hand from my shoulder. ”Di ako galit sayo, pero sa kaibigan mo? I hate him so much.” I hurriedly ran out of school.

I didn't come back right away, I stayed in 7/11 in front of the school building where I could see the school parking lot. Only a few cars are parked there. My eyes searched for Steven's but I couldn't find it. What I saw was Jake's Honda Civic. I've been staying on minimart for almost fifteen minutes and I've had my snacks but Jake's car still hasn't left. I shoved the cellphone in my pocket and called Astrid.

”Hello, Hannah!” Astrid's voice echoed on the other line.

“Where in the world are you and Nathan? Just when I need you the most di ko kayo mahagilap.” I heard some screaming and shouting in the background.

“We're here at school, Dito lang kami sa cafe.”

Astrid screamed on the other line at halos mabingi ako sa hiyaw nya. “What's with the noise?” I asked.

“Hannah-- Guess who? Yong pogi na naghatid sayo...Uhm Steven right? Omg! He's here with someone super handsome.”

“Hoy! Astrid pde pakihinaan mo boses mo, sasabog na eardrum ko kasisigaw mo jan eh.”

“Ano ka ba Hannah, may tsika ako sayo, san ka ba? Alam mo ba ang latest? Mr. Pogi kissed someone in the hallway daw pero sinapok siya nong girl!”

Dinig na dinig ko pa ang hagalpak ng tawa niya at saka bungisngis kahit sa phone lang, may pagka-tsismosa talaga etong bestfriend ko. "Where did you hear that?" Tanong ko sa kanya.

Ngayon pa lang iniisip ko na kung paano ko sasabihin sa kanya, kapag nalaman niya na ako iyon, malamang sabunutan nya ako ng wala sa oras at kurutin ng walang humpay.

“Omg! Hannah, It's all over campus, alam mo na ang tsismis madaling kumalat. These handsome guys are here in the Cafe right now having a snack the girls are already making a fuss nga eh.”

“Okay, Astrid I'll hang up the phone now. I'm just here sa 7/11 tapat ng school, may sasabihin ako sayo, bilisan mo!” I hang up the call and put my phone back to my bag.

Kaya pala andon pa sasakyan niya nasa Cafe pa pala sila at mukhang wala pa balak umalis. Napailing na lamang ako at inantay ang pagdating ni Astrid.
