HYPOCRITE

Halle quickly got to work, she brought out his favorite cotton pants and hoodie.

Then she stripped him of the clothes he had worn earlier in the morning. The pants were harder to take off because they were wet so she had to use the scissor in his bedside drawer to cut it off. She listened for his heart best every twenty seconds as she dressed him up. Too disoriented to focus on anything other than his health and warmth.

Maybe not too disoriented. At some point her hands had lingered on his abs, loving how the ridges felt under her palm but of course no one needed to know that.

Once he was in completely dry clothes, Halle began to strip as well, she put on one of his shirts and paired it with a dark blue underwear that also belonged to Xavier, her fingers lingering on the baby bump that was beginning to show. The reality of her situation glaringly unsettling.
