My apologies for the late Chapter.
"And there goes the last wad of twenty thousand dollars" Cage said, tossing the wad which had a band carefully wrapped around it into the black duffel bag on the floor "Cool cash, isn't it?" Baron said, crouching and taking one of the wads out of the bag. There were five wads in total, making a hundred thousand dollars. "Of course. Bastard money!" Cage replied, slightly kicking the duffel bagBaron sniffed the crisp notes as he flipped them back and forth against his nose bridge and nostrils. "There's something the smell of dollar notes does to me" Baron muttered slowly against the notes which were now slightly pressed against his lips "Boss, I know right. Money's just everything" "It'll get you penthouses with luxurious swimming pools, designers and of course, sleek rides" "We live for the money, boss. But it seems like you're forgetting something" Cage said, a sly grin playing at the corner of his lips"And what's that?" Baron caressed his beards "Good punani" "Oh yeah" Baro
The door to Steven's office slid open and Vandana walked in. "Seems like someone is way too busy to even notice my presence" Vandana feigned annoyance, pouting her lips She dropped her bag on the table making its silver embellishments jiggle, causing Steven to finally raise his head. "Fuck!" Steven scratched his head with the pen he was holding before tossing it on the stack of papers in front of him "I didn't know you were coming, Dana" Steven breathed out, pulling his tie slightly down his neck "Yeah, right" Sarcasm laced Vandana's voice "I haven't heard from you for three days now, Steven" "And to think that I've placed a call through to you countless times without receiving any response" She said, gesticulating, before folding her arms "I'm so sorry, baby" Steven gave her the puppy dog eyes "Work here in the office has been choking life out of me" He sighed "And I'm wondering why you're not yet dead" She said, sitting on the table "Do you really wish me dead, Barbie?"
A tear rolled down Alexandra's left cheek as she stared for the umpteenth time at the small white object in her hand. It was a thin white strip with two red vertical bars in it. That only meant one thing - she was pregnant. Another tear rolled down her cheek as she looked at the pregnancy kit once again. She didn't understand how she could have been so careless. Everything about the pregnancy had started when she, in her drunk state, had offered herself to Baron. From there, her boss, Mrs. Wong had called and she had gone to the office on a Saturday. There at the office, she and her colleagues had been assigned tasks and given deadlines to submit the task. The task had been so cumbersome and had taken so much of her time, so that most times she came home so tired and worn out and all she needed was rest and sleep. Hence, she totally forgot everything about the pill and had fallen pregnant. A state she never planned to end up in. Her mind traveling back to the night she shared wit
"Shit, shit, shit!" Steven cussed thrice under his breath "Uh oh!" Alexandra mouthed as she got off Steven's laps "Speaking of the devil" She smirked "I was about to leave, you know. You just walked in at the wrong time" Alexandra said, facing Vandana as she rounded up knotting Steven's tie "Don't forget to take your lunch" Alexandra placed a kiss on Steven's cheek before grabbing her bag from the table and sashaying her way out of the office As she passed by Vandana who had chosen to stay silent which surprised her to her marrows, both ladies raked their eyes over each other, sizing each other up. Alexandra let out a short laugh before walking out of the office. The next minute saw Vandana in front of Steven's table. Tossing her bag angrily on the table, she sucked in a breath and flipped her hair backwards. "Are you just gonna stare at me or offer some explanation?!" She expounded, folding her arms "Dana, you need to believe me, what you saw back there wasn't anything serio
Darkness. Pitch darkness was all that Kane saw. As his almost lifeless body struggled to maintain its stance between reality and a totally different world he knew nothing about - most likely, ghost town, his forehead welcomed another bullet which shot right through his skull, maiming both hemispheres in his brain. Blood vessels were not spared. They bowed in obeisance to the bullet as it walked through their midst. The bullet finally completed its mission when it passed through Kane's occiput, creating a large hole afterwards, blood seeping out in large amounts. Shrill cries pierced the dark night as ladies made good use of their vocal cords. A pool party turned into a pandemonium as everyone ran helter skelter, scampering to safety. Brain damaged, eyes wide open in shock, Kane's now lifeless body fell forward into the pool, making a loud splash. That was his last moment on planet earth. He was dead and gone, never to return. Kane's blood filled up the pool, leaving rippling effe
Men at one end of the room tossed bags to men at the other end. These bags were caught swiftly and dumped into cartons which were sealed. These cartons were either shipped out of the country to bidders who paid huge or to interested buyers within the country. This hall was in the underground part of a large mansion located in a place of it's own - It had no other buildings around it. Other halls, both medium sized and small, surrounded this hall, but they had one thing in common: They were used for making money. The large lonely mansion which oozed nothing but affluence did not only house these money making halls but also had rooms above which caged workers who made this money and the bosses who ruled over them. The workers were members of X-habit, a crime conglomerate whose activities were no lesser than running guns, doing drugs and the like. The Big Four: Steven Chase, Baron Sage, Iphan Carter and Kane Richmond bossed over the congl
With arms wrapped around her waist, Kane locked lips with Jhene, kissing the hell out of her. Both were standing on one of the spread out mats they had brought for their picnic.Jhene had been out of the country for a vacation with her parents in Paris and Kane had missed her like crazy. What hadn't they done in the span of one month while Jhene was away? Video calls were an every night thing. Voice notes were not excluded, talk more or less text messages. They did that too. Even the normal phone calls were not left out. When she had come back to New York City, she had suggested an outdoor picnic at one of the best and popular resorts as a kind of get together, not only for herself and her boyfriend, but for his friends as well: The Big Four and their girlfriends - those who had and only Iphan had; Summers was her name.Baron and Steven were single but still, Baron brought a girl along, one of his fuck buddie
Adjusting his bow tie in front of the mirror, Steven admired himself. Clad in a Classic fit Giorgio Armani designer suit with matching pants and a pair of suede oxford wingtips, Steven knew he looked more than handsome. I mean, he was dressed up to the nines. After strapping on his million dollar wristwatch, he donned his deodorant, grabbed his phone and walked out of his room. He was all set for the solemnization of holy matrimony between Tammy Manaois, Jhene's cousin and her fiance, Viktor Petrova.Descending the stairs, he slipped into a Rolls Royce and zoomed off. He wasn't headed directly for the church; he had somewhere else in mind - Alexandra's place. Both had agreed to come as a pair to the ceremony. After a while of waiting in traffic, Steve
