Unknown POV
Have you ever been in a situation where you found yourself drowning in the endless ocean you call your nightmares? Every single night. They make your heart race, your palms sweaty and they sucked the air out of your lungs to the point where you sometimes woke up and found that you couldn't breathe. Then you began to panic because you're desperate for air, but none is coming because your mind suddenly shut down on you and suddenly you don't remember how to breathe.
Then while you're there gasping for breath, your mind began to get hazy, vision darkening and limbs twitching as your heart pounded painfully in your chest. Then in that brief moment where it finally hits you that you're about to die, you accept that fact and then everything becomes calm again.
Your best friend is like a drug. They tempt you with ideas and trick you into forgetting about the consequences, influencing your mind, and rooting devious schemes into every action made.Or at least that was how I described my best friend. She was a wild and to my horror adventurous girl. She pushed me against my limits and made me experience the joys of life even though I would much rather stay at home, buried deep under my silky sheets with my phone screen marking the words 'Wattpad'.I never found interest in many things in my life. I was happy enough to say I at least had a favourite colour, not much else interested me.Especially the outdoors. But that of course didn't stop Liza from dragging me out of bed on a bright Saturday morning and forcing me into some hiking gear she bought. Her words that morning would forever circulate in my mind like an overbearing song that just wouldn't stop playing."We're going hiking to see the garden o
All my thoughts froze in total disbelief as my heart got poked with little pins of annoyance. I should have expected this. The urge to face palm was so hard right now but I resisted and instead turned to scowl at the idiot. "You're saying this is illegal and that we can potentially get killed in the process?" My voice sliced through the amusement on her face and caused her to chuckle nervously as she stared at my raging eyes.
Among the many trees and shrubs, there stood many statues of both wolves and people...which took me by surprise because I thought it was only going to be wolf statues.Old vines clung to the statues as tree roots sprung from the ground and staked their claim around the foot of the statues. The area was strangely silent. No rustle of trees, no sightings of birds or the sound of any wildlife anywhere. It was as if the place was barren from all life except the lingering vegetation.Liza moved from beside me in awe and started trekking
Meanwhile.... back at the garden...Axil collapsed onto the ground with a groan. His body aching as if something heavy was pressed down on him, which technically it was since he was buried under stone for such a long time. His limbs were throbbing, weak and defenceless. He laid his paws out in front of him and cuddled with the ground, panting in exhaustion. He was free.He inha
The ride home took about half an hour. Liza and I sat in the car in tense silence, Liza probably contemplating on what we should do next. I already knew the answer to that though. We were going to get the hell out of town.As she pulled into the driveway of our little two-story house, I quickly jumped out of the car before she even managed to park properly.I wasted no time.I quickly entered th
"Liza!"With my heart stuck in my throat, I quickly left my bedroom and headed straight towards Liza's room. She didn't answer, which was justified considering the fight we just had but that was the least of my concerns at this point.I quickly opened her bedroom door and strayed my eyes across her baby blue walls before my eyes locked onto her, lying on her bed with a cup of yogurt in her hands. She gla
"Hell no!" The words slipped out of my mouth before I could think it through, causing me to wince at how aggressive my voice sounded. I cuddled Liza to my chest and hauled her up into my arms, grunting at the heavy weight that she put on my shoulders. "She'd probably kill me if I let a naked man beast lift her defenceless body off the ground," I mumbled as I dragged Liza through the door and left the man behind, my priorities shifting from dealing with a threat to making sure that Liza was safely laying down on our sofa, in the living room. As soon as I touched the dark grey loveseat, I dumped Liza's body onto it, exhaling sharply and rolling my shoulders to ease the discomfort from having Liza there. "Why did you free me? " A voice came up from behind me. I turned around and saw that the man followed me into the house, standing in my doorway with his intense brown eyes staring right at me. It was hard for me to focus with him being na
I cleared my throat and gestured to the doorway that led us into the hall, "follow me, I'll show you where you'll be staying and get you cleaned up." I lead him out into the hall and directly up the stairs, wary of his eyes that were drilling into my back. So creepy... Once up the stairs, I turned the corner and opened the very first door to my left and entered. I spread my arms wide, "this is your room for the time being, the bathroom is literally next door." Axil entered the room behind me, finally removing his gaze as he eyed everything in the room in curiosity. From the bed that stood in the middle of the room covered in dark red and white sheets to the dresser on the sides and the white silky curtains that blew from the wind and revealed the windows. Something told me he's never seen most of these things before. I walked up to the bed and patted it, explaining, "this is a bed. We use it to sleep on. It's very soft and comfy so you don't h
