CHAPTER 31

NELLY

NELLY NARRATING...

"Omelette?" he asks when he looks at me and I realize it's a question. I nod and he smiled. "Great, I made the best omelette you've ever had in your life. My eggs are special. "

He winks at the last part and I try not to think maliciously. "And yes. I'm real and so are you. " He added after a few seconds, bringing a piece of tomato to my mouth.

I open it and he smiles.

"Good girl. Greens?" he asks, holding up a handful of leaves in different shades of green. I shrug, and he pours a good amount over the scrambled eggs in the frying pan, adding pieces of tomato and pickled mushrooms. He puts everything on a large plate and asks me to take it to the part of the balcony where there is a table. I do as he asks, and his friend brings the cutlery, juice, plates, toast and some diced fruit. As I start to tinker with my plate, waiting for hunger to strike, his loud growl almost makes me fall off my chair, and he threatens to devour me again.
