Sweet.
There’s that sweet scent again. it’s invading Gavin’s nose, assaulting his insides and he knows, the sweeter it gets, the faster he has to run.
He panted hard as he stumbled for the nth time, springing back up almost automatically by now just to continue running. He whimpered when he saw the blood trickling down his leg but he pushed himself to continue running. They can’t catch him.

The next time Gavin opened his eyes, it was to darkness. He’s lying somewhere soft but he could not figure out where he was beyond his clouded senses and vision. For a second, he thought he was dreaming again, panic immediately settled in his chest, his breathing quickly turning erratic. An involuntary whine built up in his throat, high and pitchy—a distressed call. His body grew taut with tension, legs curling close to his chest as he threaded closer to another pit of panic attack when a door to his left burst open. He could not see the person well, with the sudden flood of light blinding him, but he was able to catch his scent. The warm hands cupping Gavin’s cheeks is the only thing keeping him grounded at the moment. The soft mattress dipping under his weight, the darkness of Ainar’s cabin with only a few candles providing them of small light and the akoha’s spoiled scent is barely keeping him afloat. Gavin took a sharp intake of breath. Ainar is silent in front of him, his mouth is open but not a single word has come out of his mouth after the omega’s confession. He has been silent, but his eyes are loud, glinting gold in the darkness of the room, and even more so, his scent, that is struggling to remain neutral in an attempt to soothe the distressed omega despite the anger that is threatening to implode.“How long?” Ainar asked in a whisper, his eyes are searching. Ainar is angry—no, scratch that—he’s fucking livid. He can feel the gazes of the pack members lingering on him as he passed by them, probably wondering why the pack alpha’s son is waking around while radiating and smelling of so much rage, but he paid them no mind. The events of the past days, especially for those who had been there to witness, were already enough of an answer as to why the alpha is in his current state, others murmured against each other, asking for answers, shutting their mouths once they hear it. Other times, Ainar would have stopped to greet them, especially the older ones as they seemed fond of him, but not today. Gavin woke up to the feeling of slender fingers gently carding through his silvery white locks. He hummed in content as he felt Ainar shift from somewhere beside him, scooting closer to the warmth and pushing his head further into the touch. He heard a fond chuckle, making way for a smile on his own lips before he decided to open his eyes, blearily blinking up at the alpha.“Slept well?” the alpha asked as he looked down at Gavin fondly. His voice sounds deeper in the morning, causing a pleasant shiver to run through Gavin’s body. Ainar watched the omega stretch his body on the soft mattress, sleepy eyes staring up at him.“Hmm,” Gavin hummed, closing his eyes again as he fought the haze of sleep still clouding his system. His hands reached out to Ainar, which the alpha immediately took, and intertwined their fingers. Gavin made another contented sound from deep within his chest.
