Maia nodded as she walked toward Hans. When she was next to him, he immediately yelled at Cedric.

“How could you do this to your family?”

Grandpa?” Maia’s heart skipped a beat as she looked at Cedric nervously. Cedric just looked at his grandfather stoically.

“Your uncle is missing, and your aunt has come to me asking questions. Are you responsible for this?” Hans questioned Cedric sternly.

“Yes,” Cedric admitted honestly.

“I told you not to dig into this. Why didn’t you listen to me? I’ve told you to leave this alone! How am I supposed to answer to my brother now?” Hans was furious as he hit his walking stick on the ground.

“Where is he now? What did you do to him? Is he still alive?” Hans asked.

“He’s alive,” Cedric replied truthfully.

“Let him go and bring him here!” Even though Hans had managed to recover from the poisoning, his memory was still foggy. His body had also suffered damage, and he coughed incessantly whenever he got emotional.
