Chapter Seventy Eight

Adaline Point of View.

"This is called Farewell's Embrace." Lily says, and I nod, standing opposite her.

"This is what we need." Selena says, and I look at her.

"A lock of your hair," She says, and I pinch it out, giving it to her.

"Something that belonged to Zoe." Blu says, and I go inside, bring out her necklace, give it to them.

"A vail of moonlit water, and a spring of nightshade, which we have here." Lola says and I nod.

"One last thing," Mom says

"A piece of parchment and quill."

Alex hands it to her, and I nod at him. We are in Zoe's room, the one she spent her last days. They light candles around the space to create a boundary and invoke protective energies.

Everyone walks out, leaving us alone. Lily places Zoe's necklace at the center of the circle, and I sit in said circle, holding a lock of my hair in one hand, and the parchment with quill in another.
