Chapter 2

Kayla’s POV

It was not long after that I found myself in a stall, not know what to do with myself but laying down and ha off some much-needed rest, it was not long after I must have drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

A couple of hours later, I was woken up by some old guy. I have honestly never seen him before, so I have no idea who he is, and by the shock on his face I am guessing he has no idea who I am either. When he goes to put a head collar on me, so I freak out, I have no idea who this wolf is I do not want him touching me, just like I do not want anyone else touching me at all. On the bright side I have had a good couple of hours to sleep and come around, but mu injuries are still sore so sadly I do not even attempt to get up.

Not long after I see Seth walking through the door and walking up to the old man that tried to touch me. After they exchange a few words, Seth starts walking towards me, one thing is for sure is I will find out if he is my mate tomorrow since it will be my 17^th birthday, but no one knows I have not celebrated a birthday well even I have always been on my own, so I never saw the point in having a party for myself since I do not have any friends or family. Anyway, back to Seth he is stood at my stall door now just looking at me, that when he says, “hey little filly, I know you're a shifter, can you shift back for me please?” That scared me to the bone, how did he know what I am, what am I going to do now? I honestly have no idea, but I cannot shift back not yet I do not know him well enough yet, plus I would not be much use I have not use my voice in a long time since I do not have any friends there does not ever seem to be any point in been in human form, I would rather be in my horse form where I can get away if there is any danger.

As Seth is staring at me expecting me to change back, which I am not going to do any time soon, he starts to open the stall door, and walks in, “I’m going to put this head collar on you now, if you won’t change back I will have to get my vet to take a look at you, please don’t act up” I mean I can understand where he is coming from, I do need looking at after what the white wolf did, so I slowly try get the my feet and walk towards him. As he is putting the head collar on, I can feel a slight tingle in my cheek. I rub my head shines this hand since the little tingles I feel come with so much warmth and comfort I have not felt for such a long time, well since ever really, I was abandoned as a child in the wild and left to defend for myself, so I do not know much about trusting other people. That scares me.

After Seth put the head collar on me and walked me out of the stable, I was still lame, my leg was still throbbing and in agony. And that when a lovely looking lady started walking over, I was still unsure and started shaking and tried to move backwards but Seth kept a tight hold and started stroking my neck in a soothing man at to try help calm me down, which helped but I still was not happy about her touching my wounds and After a little while of her poking me and me trying to kick or bite her, she was finally done, thank god all I want to do it go lie down and go to sleep. Thankfully, nothing is too serious she just put some cream on and said I must stay in the stall for a few days, which honestly does not bother me since I just want to sleep, and it is nice and warm in here.

When she walk away I found out her name was Grace, Seth slowly started walking me back to my stall, I may have put up a fight if I had the energy but Grace had sedated me after I kicked her, so I am still a bit out of it as well, as soon and we get to my stall he let me go inside and I go to lay down straight away which causes Seth to chuckle at me. After Seth walked away, I dozed off.

The next day I woke up and realised I had been asleep since the vet visit and today is my 17^th birthday, time will tell is Seth is truly my mate or not, I honestly cannot wait to find out I may not trust him yet but if he is my mate, it should hopefully help me settle a lot more.

Not long after waking up Seth walked in, I am guessing to see how I am and that is when I felt it, the mate bond pulls me towards him, so I do something that not just shocks Seth bit me as well, I shift back to my human self. Seth looked at me wide eyed and shocked, “you changed back?” Was his response in his shock like state. I may not fully trust Seth but he is my mate so there is some sort of trust there through the mate bond, coughing I try speaking but I have not used my voice in such a long time, that when Seth goes somewhere and grabs me a bottle of water, which I open and drink greedily. After having the whole bottle, I try speaking again, “my mate” is all I say.

Seth's POV

After seeing her change for me was a total and utter surprise, so I run and grab her a bottle of water assuming she has not spoken for a long time since when she tried she just coughing, after she drinks the whole thing she speaks, “your my mate” is all she says but she has such a sweet quite voice I almost did not catch it if I did not have werewolf hearing I would not of heard her at all. I slowly take steps towards her till I am right in front of her, she has not moved away which is a good sign, but I can tell she is scared.

I go to touch her, and she flinched away from me, so I live my hand away and ask her for her name, she just looks at me for a couple of minutes before she replies “Kayla Smith” what a lovely name. “Well, my name is Seth Summers, your stunning Kayla can I hold you? I’ll take you to my house fir a shower and to lay in a comfortable bed?” She looks shocked for a couple of minutes before nodding her head, so I go a scoop her up in my arms and hold her close to my chest. When we get to my house, I head straight for my room, but my mum blocks my path looking at my little mate in my arms. She is extremely nervous with people I can tell with how she starts shaking in my arms.

“Who is this?” My mum asks me as she standing in front of us, “this is my mate mum, Kayla Smith” all of a sudden my mum squeals and goes to hug me and Kayla in one of her motherly hugs but Kayla squeals herself and pushed herself further in to me and hid her face in my neck, “please mum she very nervous, she’s only just changed for me let me spend some time with her and let her get use to things and me first” my mum nods her head and steps aside for us to get past and I take Kayla straight to my room and put her on the bed. I put the bath on and put some bubble bath in for her to relax I to, once it was ready, I picked Kayla up again and took her to the bathroom slowly helped he take her clothes off and let me tell you she is stunning she has the most amazing body, but anyway I pick her up and slowly put her in the bath and leave her to relax.

Kayla's Pov:

After Seth leaves the room after putting me in bath, I relax into the tub I may not like staying in my human form, but God have I missed having a bath. I do not even remember the last time I had a proper bath if I am honest. I close my eyes and just settle laying down and I just feel like I could just go to sleep. After about an hour I was finally finished in the bath, so I get out and use the towel that Seth left me at the side of the tub and go into the bedroom on wobbly legs. Once I am in there, I see some clothes on the bed which I am guessing are for me so put them on, but I want to go for a run I mean I know I should not, but I just cannot help myself.

I slowly make my way towards the door and walk out seeing if there is anyone around, which there is not I go back the way Seth brought me and find my way to the front door. Once I am outside, I go towards the woods and quickly turn into my horse, Blue. I take off in a full-blown gallop and can feel the wind in my mane and tail, I love every minute of it. I was out for around 20 minutes before I heard it, a twig snapping somewhere in the distance, with no idea what it is I turn to go back to the house, but that is when I saw it... and then complete blackness.
