BAEKALIS’ POV

I rested my hands on my knees, somewhat bent over as I panted, struggling to catch my breath. My legs were trembling, and I managed to walk a few more steps so I could rest against a tree instead. My back slid down the tree bark, my ass landing on the grass as I spread my legs on the ground, exhaustion weighing me down.

Closing my eyes, I tried my best to pay attention. I could barely hear the footsteps of Natalia's wolf, so it was safe to assume that she was still further away, giving me more time to rest.

I reached for the zipper of my cropped hoodie, rolling it down, a part of the lace bra I was wearing underneath peeking through, as I used my hand to fan my self — not like it was doing much really — very much desperate to feel some sort of relief on my heated skin.

The sun wasn't helping either, and neither were the trees surprisingly, as it seemed they were burning holes through the leaves just to attack me in all their glory.
