BAEKALIS’ POV

I stared at the ceiling, absent mindedly twisting and turning the silver ring on my left ring finger, feeling the foreign object. I took a deep breath in, my chest swelling before it went back to its original size as I exhaled a puff of air.

I turned my head to the side, watching as Cyrus slept peacefully shirtless, his arms underneath his head as he laid on his side, his fist still curled as if he was preparing to punch anyone at any given moment.

It was almost sad, how high his walls were, and how tense he was even when he was too deep in the confines of sleep. I could see his bloodied and bruised knuckles, the joints reddish and purple. It irked me how swollen they had gotten, how I couldn't do anything but watch as the area rose and swelled as time passed by.
