Chapter 58

Ava walked down the hallways of the palace while her dress and the long sleeves almost swept the floor. Her bodyguard followed closely behind. She walked inside her room and shut the door, walking towards the window and looking out at the city that now stretched beyond its previous boundaries.

It had been months since the king, her husband, left the kingdom; and months since she was sober. When she heard of the king's departure, she almost celebrated in front of the entire kingdom.
