CHAPTER TWO.

He had driven the main street of Texas as he owned it to the address Derek Walker had given him, he wasn't supposed to arrive until next week but he was eager to see Alyssa, he was eager to see her facial expression when she sees him, he eager to be in the same room as her, he grinned he hadn't been excited about anything since he was a kid when his grandparents had let him keep the puppy he found in a construction site his grandpa was working on, even though she had walked out on him, he always kept an eye on her, he always knew what she was up to, he knew how many relationships she had been in since she walked out on him and which of them was serious, after all, she was his world and he always kept an eye on things priceless to him, three years ago, he had been a complete fool to let her walk away from him without a fight, he had let his ego stop him form going after her, he had let his desire to win broke her but not again.

pulling into Walker's driveway he killed the engine Of his Grand Cherokee SRT, taking a deep breath, he step out making his way towards their door, he slightly knocked loud enough for anyone closed by to hear after about 30 seconds the door swung open, revealing a young lady in her early twenties "Oh my God" she screamed, something Lucas was used to, as much as he hated it, he couldn't help It, he was a famous man

"Is this Walker's residence?" he asked trying to confirm his destination.

she nodded like a child who has been asking if he wanted desserts for breakfast

"Sorry, I have never been up close with a celebrity before not to talk of one who is extremely popular, I'm Alexa Walker" she smiled and opened the door wide enough for him to come in "come in" he nodded and walked in, closing the door behind him, " I thought Derek was joking when he said he secure one of Los Angeles famous construction company," she said, Lucas didn't say anything he just followed her as she leads him to the sitting room "my sister is going to freak but I doubt she knows who you are, she doesn't keep up with celebrities and stuff like that you see but then again she might, she went to the University of California and might have heard about you" Lucas grinned, Alyssa would freak out alright but not from meeting a celebrity.

"Mr. Ramirez, I didn't know you were coming today," the man he assumes to be Derek Walker said to him as he reaches they reached the sitting room, he stretched out his hand and they shooked

"Alexa why did you sc....."

Alyssa froze immediately her eyes fell on him 'please, please, please let this be a nightmare ' Alyssa thought frantically, the black Grand Cherokee SRT that had past the B&B window while she was serving a guest but never in a million years did she expected the driver to be Lucas Ramirez, the man who had played and broke her heart into a million pieces.

and as big as life itself, he had strolled into her life dressed in a black suit, looking like a gentleman but there was nothing gentle about him and she still loved him, she mentally punched herself in the gut for thinking about him, she brought her eyes to those piercing smokey gray eyes, which could mesmerize you into forgetting about all that he did, she tore her gaze from him and focus them on her sister "Alexa why did you scream?"

"you know Lucas Ramirez?"

Alyssa turned to look at him "no, never heard of him"

before Lucas could say anything, Derek chimed in "He owns a construction company in L.A he would be handling the expansion of the B&B." he continued "Ally please get him some tea" she simply nodded, she made her way to the kitchen to make his tea with different thoughts running through her mind "what was he up to?"," how did he find her?", she added to cubes of sugar just how she knew he liked it, she took the tea and carried it through the double door to the sitting room, by the time she reached her destination she was shaking "hope you liked the tea"

her soft feminine voice brought his focus from Derek to her, Alyssa, her beauty still cut him off guard. that freshly scrubbed look appealed to him more even though she wasn't wearing any makeup .he met her gaze "thank you" he reached out to help her with the tea and their hands brushed, she jerked back nearly knocking the cup away.

he managed to keep a firm hand on it "Whoa, I didn't mean to scare you, I'm harmless"

they both knew that was a lie, Derek's laughter broke the awkward moments "Relax Ally", managing a weak smile she took a break beside Alexa.

Alyssa sat for over an hour listening to her brother and Lucas discussed their plan for the expansion of the B&B and Alexa telling her all about Lucas and his achievements, flings, and businesses, but her eyes never left him, there were tiny crinkles he acquires beside his smokey gray eyes, his black jet hair looked shorter than she remembered, if she didn't know any better she would have sworn he had grown another ten inches, his chest was broader, she still remembered the feel of her hand against his chest, she mentally punched herself in the gut snd bring herself back to reality, As if sensing she was looking at him he turned his gazed to her and smiled before returning his attention to Derek, butterflies filled her stomach, she hates that he still had such effect on her even after 3 years.

" Alyssa?" Alexa gently nudge her

"hmm?"

"Derek said you should take Mr.Ramirez to the guest room

she turned to look at him and he was already on his feet, she slowly got up and lead him to the guest's room at the end of the hallway

" what are you doing here Lucas? what do you want?"

he grinned "work"

she shot him a dagger look "there is no way Lucas Ramirez would give an all-expenses-paid construction to anyone, so what exactly do you want"

He smiled he had missed that fiery "you know me quite well Alyssa"

her eyebrows creased into a frown "Lucas what do you want?"

he smiled "YOU".
