MAGNUS
I never expected that a playgirl Luna of the Yellowstone Pack would become my mate. I never thought this would happen not even in my wildest dreams. "You're my mate?" I spoke in disbelief. "You must be joking, Alpha. How could someone as womanizer as you become my mate?" Lara smiled sarcastically, raising her brow. Her words struck me and definitely hit my ego. With an impulse move, I approached her and kissed her passionately. I felt she was responding to my kiss and it made my heart fluttered. I paused and smiled mischievously. "Does it feel good, huh?" She was blushing, I could clearly see her cheeks turning out red. But her response was something I less expected. "It wasn't interesting at all. It was just like other men's kisses." After saying this, she quickly turned away from me, but I still managed to tell her in an exact domineering voice, "Just remember Lara, you are my mate and you belong to me!" "Oh, I'm glad you have finally found your mate, dude," Alex spoke behind my back. "See? My guess is absolutely right. Lara Jade is your mate," he chuckled as he approached me and tapped my shoulder. "This gonna be exciting dude. Between a womanizer and a playgirl, who would fall first?" Alex continued teasing. "I'm certain, it's not gonna be me, dude. Love is not in my vocabulary," I said intently. "Okay, fine. But for now, you need to tell your Dad about your newly found mate for your wedding to be arranged. I'm sure he would be happy to hear that," Alex suggested. "How sure you are that I'm going to marry her? I still believe in the sanctity of marriage. It's just only for two people who are deeply in love with each other. "So you mean, it's impossible for you to love Lara?" "Too impossible dude, because I don't believe in it, I don't believe in its stupidity. It will just ruin your wholebeing, just like what happened—" I could not finish what I wanted to say as tears started to form at the corner of my eyes.Alex tapped my shoulder and said, "That's enough, dude. I understand."
Together we went back to the banquet hall to enjoy the rest of the celebration. From one corner, I saw Lara, who was happily engaged in a conversation with Alpha Callum. I was aware, they were not real siblings and upon seeing their sweetness, I could tell Alpha Callum was one of Lara's casual flings. I suddenly got pissed off especially when they danced on the dance floor.
Out of annoyance, I grabbed the microphone and began speaking. "I apologize for the interruption, but I have a very important announcement."
The music was turned off and everyone returned to their seats.
All were stunned into silence as their eyes fixed on me. I could see Alex from one corner, smiling at me while showing a thumbs-up. I also looked at Dad who was eagerly anticipating what I wanted to say. Meanwhile, I took a glance at Lara, who was at their table sitting beside Apha Callum. Their special care towards each other was killing me inside and this reaction puzzled me.
"The truth is, I have already found my mate, and she is here with us," I uttered.
"Then who is she, my son?" Dad's curiosity piqued.
I cleared my throat before I spoke again. "She is Lara Jade of the Yellow Stone Pack."
Everyone's eyes widened as they heard the unexpected news. Lara smirked while crossing her arms, obviously did not like my announcement.
"If so, then I, as the current leader of the Silvercrest Pack gladly accept Lara Jade to be Alpha Magnus' Luna," Dad spoke while fixing his eyes on Lara and her family.
"If Lara is really your mate, then you were supposed to give her a red mark on her neck," Alpha Callum butted in, trying to test me.
"So you want me to put a red mark on her, right now? Right here?" I responded confidently.
"No need to do that now, Magnus. Better reserve it on the day of our wedding," Lara smiled and everyone chuckled.
"So you're really expecting a wedding to happen huh?" I responded, showing a silly smile. "Well, who would not want to be with me?"
Curious about Lara's response, I glanced at her, only to see a sly grin on her face as she rose, crossing her arms. "Perhaps other women have desired you, but not me, Alpha. However, as you are my mate, I have nothing to do but accept the mate bond or I will die. Of course, I don't want to die. Not now."
"That's enough." Lara's father, Alpha Damian abruptly interrupted.
"Let us set the wedding of Alpha Magnus and my daughter Lara on this month's last full moon. We have twenty days to prepare for the Grand Wedding."
"I agree. So shall we have a wine toast?" my father, spoke while pouring wine into his glass. Everyone did the same and as soon as they were ready, my father said loudly, "For the upcoming marital union of Alpha Magnus of the Silvercrest Pack and Beta Lara Jade of the Yellow Stone Pack---Cheers!"
A warm applause echoed the whole place, but just as it died down, Lara turned away and walked into the door. Looking at her reaction, I could tell, she did not want the idea of marriage. Well, the feeling was mutual, but we had to make a deal.
Eager to catch up with her, I hastened my steps. We had to make things clear to avoid confusion. I was aware of her strong objection to the marriage primarily because she only desired to flirt with men. Feeling restricted and unable to pursue her desires any longer left her feeling disheartened. Well, the same with me. But how could I turn down my father's request? I owe him my life.
I scanned the entire villa grounds, searching for Lara but to no avail. The moon was still high in the sky so it was unsafe for her to wander alone as rogues and vampires were just around the corner. I sniffed and I could smell her scent, going into the forest.
But in no time, the piercing howl of the dire wolves echoed in the air, and it only meant one thing—Lara's life was in danger!
LARAAlpha Magnus' announcement totally put me in a bad mood. It was obvious that he wasn't really attracted to me. It was just his male ego that pushed him to pursue the wedding, without even considering my feelings. Conceited! Too confident in himself that all women were attracted to him! Damn, I hate him! I muttered to myself as I made my way towards the forest. Alpha Callum was supposed to accompany me, but I insisted on being alone. Suddenly, I heard the menacing growls of the dire wolves which I believed were the rogues. The moon was still at its peak, so these rogues roamed the forest, searching for prey. All of a sudden, three rogues in their human forms, appeared before my sight and I was trapped. Their faces were not familiar, so I was certain they were new members of the rogue community. "What does a beautiful lady do in this place?" they asked, showing a silly smile as they drew nearer to me. "Don't come near me, or you will regret it," I said while preparing for m
MAGNUS"Let go of me, Magnus!" Lara shouted, trying to get out of my grip. A powerful slap landed on my face as she was fiercely staring at me."Do you really want to claim me, Magnus? Then, leave me a red mark!" Lara demanded. Her words prevented me from losing control, so I stepped back and bolted out of the room. How could I put a red mark on her when I had no plan of having a serious relationship with her?Damn!I murmured as I made my way back to the banquet hall. The four Gammas from my pack who were with Lara earlier were now gone, perhaps they had hidden elsewhere out of fear of me."Hey dude, are you okay? I saw what happened a while ago. Where is Lara now?" Alex asked as he showed me a teasing smile."I left her in my room. Damn her!" I muttered."And why you were acting like that? Are you jealous that she was with other men?" "Jealous? Of course not! It's just that it hit my male ego. You know she is my mate and she is supposed to behave, right?" I explained, trying to ge
LARAEveryone was busy with wedding preparations, but not me. If only I could reject the mate bond, it would have been better. However, we were all bound by the rules of the Silvercrest Pack and mandated by the Wolf Code. I was standing on the terrace with my hands resting on the balustrade as thoughts of the impending wedding swirled in my mind. A deep sigh escaped me as I looked at the clear blue sky. "How does it feel to be Magnus' soon-to-be-wife, hmm?" Alpha Callum spoke behind, showing a teasing smile. "Not in the mood for your jokes, bro. In fact, I wanted to step back," I replied. "You can't do that, sis. You know what will happen right?" he retorted, wrapping his arms around my shoulders. "You know sis, if I were you, I would just accept it. Who knows, Alpha Magnus would become a good husband to you." "What can you expect from a womanizer bro?" I smiled sarcastically. "He even doesn't want to put a red mark on me, so it means he would just consider me as one of his
MAGNUSThoughts about Lara occupied my mind which made me sleepless for several nights. Thinking about the wedding, really pissed me off since it would happen a few days from now. I couldn't imagine myself being married to a certified playgirl Beta of the Yellow Stone Pack. Damn!I murmured to myself."Hey dude, are you okay? You seem uneasy. Excited about the wedding?" Alex spoke behind. "Of course not. If only I could turn down Dad's request, I would rather do that than get married to Lara Jade. I don't want to end up heartbroken. No, over my dead body! I would never fall for such a woman who had been with numerous men in bed," I grumbled, settling back on the swivel chair.Alex just chuckled while looking at me. "Oh, how sure you are that Lara had slept with plenty of men, dude, huh?" He said as he sat on a separate couch."I knew it. She had no serious relationship. She was just enjoying herself from playing around with men.""Just like you, dude." Alex chuckled again."I'm a man
LARAThe day of my marriage to Alpha Magnus was the most awaited event by everyone in the town of Tribiano. However, for me, it turned out to be the worst day of my life. Even though I acknowledged my attraction to Magnus, I still detested the concept of marriage. But there was no turning back. All were set, from the wedding location to the bridal party and the post-ceremony celebrations. My bridesmaids hailed from the Betas of my pack, while Magnus' groomsmen were selected from the Alphas and Betas of the Silvercrest Pack.A crimson carpet was unfurled along the central aisle, starting from the forest glade up to the serene woodland that I chose as the wedding venue. The whole place was decorated with ornamental flowers and bistro lights were dangled from the trees, creating a magical ambiance that bathed the reception area in a soft, enchanting light. Chiffon fabrics that were used for draping added a billowing effect to make the venue more elegant and luxurious. Despite the ambianc
MAGNUSIt was already ten o'clock, yet drowsiness seemed to evade me. Seeking some relaxation, I left my room and grabbed a drink from the fridge. Dad was now resting in his room after returning from his business trip, and Alex was likely asleep, exhausted from the wedding preparations.Thoughts of the upcoming marital union consumed my mind, along with Lara's scent—Damn! My inner wolf yearned for her, as we had adhered to the tradition of not seeing each other until the wedding day."Hey, are you okay?" Alex's voice startled me from behind."Oh, I thought you were already asleep.""Why are you drinking alone? You should rest now. Tomorrow is your big day," Alex remarked as he settled on the couch across from me."Is this real, dude? Sometimes I wish it was just a dream, and I'm not truly meant to marry Lara," I mused as I poured him a glass of wine."You're not dreaming. Your union with Lara is set tomorrow, coinciding with this month's final full moon," Alex reassured.Suddenly, my c
LARAUpon arriving at the wedding venue, my heart pounded in my chest, especially when I noticed Alpha Magnus and his best man, Alex, standing in the glade forest. Although I tried to appear unaffected, my inner wolf yearned for him. Walking through the entrance, I maintained my composure, though I couldn't shake the awareness of all eyes on me. I maintained my distance from Magnus while waiting for the moon to reach its peak. My gaze landed again on him, and I couldn't help but admire his irresistible charm like the painstaking art of heaven. Under his furrowed brows, his blue-grey eyes held a captivating allure like stormy seas swirling with depth and mystery. His straight and refined nose added a touch of elegance to his features, perfectly balanced against his strong and chiseled jawline, which emanated confidence and determination. His well-defined chin added a touch of masculinity to his overall appearance. Each line and contour seemed carefully crafted, enhancing his oozing sex
MAGNUSThe faces of everyone after the wedding ceremony were filled with a mix of emotions, including joy, contentment, and a hint of nostalgia. Smiles, tears of happiness, and expressions of relief were observed as they congratulated us. This was followed by a photo session and the giving of wedding gifts."Congratulations dude!" Alex approached me and gave me a high-five. He smiled as he opened his arms for a hug. Dad followed him and did the same, "Congratulations son, I am happy for you."I just showed a brittle smile as I put my arms around Dad's shoulder. "Thank you for doing this favor, Magnus. I understand your strong aversion to this marriage but you know that we are all bound by what is stated in the Wolf Code," Dad spoke seriously."It's fine, Dad. This is the Will of the Moon Goddess. However—" I paused and cleared my throat. "I can only be a good leader like you, but I couldn't promise that I would be a good husband to Lara.""Just give it a try, dude," Alex butted in.
Lara woke up slowly, her eyes adjusting to the soft glow of sunlight streaming through the window. As she blinked, she felt the warmth of someone next to her—Magnus. She turned her head and gasped softly. Could this be real? Her heart pounded in disbelief, and she pinched her cheek to make sure she wasn’t dreaming. The slight sting confirmed it. Tears welled up in her eyes, spilling over as the weight of everything sank in. They were back. It was all real.A snort of emotion escaped her, startling Magnus awake. He stirred and turned his head towards her, his brows furrowing as he took in her tear-streaked face. “Lara?” His voice was rough with sleep and confusion.Without hesitation, Lara threw her arms around him, hugging him tightly. "Magnus, we’re back," she sobbed, her voice full of both relief and joy. "It’s all over. We defeated the Queen of Darkness." She pulled back slightly, smiling through her tears as they continued to fall, each drop carrying the weight of everything they h
The battle between Lara and Thana was fierce and unrelenting. Fangs bared, the two clashed in a whirlwind of primal fury—fangs versus fangs, strength against strength. The air crackled with dark magic, but Lara's resolve remained unshaken. She was driven not only by her love for her family but by the unyielding belief that good would always triumph over evil. Her heart beat faster as she recalled the words of the Wolf Healer from her dream, telling her that the power to defeat Thana lay within her.As she dodged Thana's swift attack, Lara caught a fleeting glimpse of the wedding ring on her finger. It glittered, as if trying to speak to her. The ring, a symbol of her bond with Magnus, seemed to pulse with an energy she'd never noticed before. "Embrace the power within it." The Wolf Healer’s voice echoed in her mind. When Thana lunged again, her claws poised to strike, Lara tripped and fell hard onto the cold, rocky ground. For a moment, her breath was knocked out of her, the impact jar
Lara had spent three agonizing, sleepless nights by the side of her husband and son's lifeless bodies, refusing to leave them even for a moment. Their once-warm faces were now cold and still, yet she couldn't bring herself to believe they were truly gone. The pain was unbearable, gnawing at her soul, but her denial ran deeper. The entire town of Tribiano shared in her mourning; whispers of grief echoed through the streets, and the wolves howled in sorrow for the loss of their Alpha and his heir. But Lara would not let them be buried. Not yet. She wasn't ready to say goodbye. She sat by their side, her eyes hollow, the weight of loss pressing down on her chest. Her heart still clung to the smallest shred of hope, a whisper that perhaps this was all a nightmare she would soon wake from. The thought of moving on without them, of continuing life alone, was unimaginable.Exhaustion finally caught up with her. Her eyelids grew heavy, and despite her resistance, she fell into a deep sleep, h
Lara slowly regained consciousness, her eyelids fluttering open as a dull ache pulsed through her body. The sterile smell of antiseptic filled her nostrils, and the faint hum of machinery buzzed in the background. Her vision was blurry at first, but as her senses sharpened, she realized she was lying on a cold metal bed inside the infirmary of Tribiano. White walls and the soft glow of fluorescent lights above cast a sterile, almost haunting ambiance around her.It took several moments before the fog in her mind began to clear. She blinked, her breath quickening as fragmented memories came rushing back—flashes of Magnus, the battle, and, most of all, the dark figure of Thana taking her son's life. Her heart leaped in her chest as panic set in"Where is Magnus? I want to see him!" she rasped, her throat dry, the words barely audible. She tried to sit up, her body trembling with weakness, but a sharp pain in her ribs forced her back down. Her head spun, but her desperation overpowered th
Everything had yet to fully register in Lara’s mind. It felt as if the world had come crashing down around her. Magnus, her husband, her mate, was now lying lifeless in her lap, his body cold, his once-strong heartbeat silenced forever. The grief was overwhelming, suffocating her. How could she ever accept that he was truly gone? The love of her life, taken from her in a heartbeat. Her heart shattered, and she felt like she was sinking into a void of despair. Nothing mattered anymore.Around her, the sounds of battle raged on. Her warriors fought fiercely against Thana's minions, but the noise barely penetrated her fog of mourning. She was numb to it all, lost in the devastation of Magnus’s death. Everything else faded into the background. It was as if the world had come to a stop, except for the aching void in her heart. But even in her grief, danger loomed. Cyrus, the one who had driven the blade into Magnus’s heart, stood not far from her. Unbeknownst to Lara, he had raised his weap
With Magnus by her side, Lara felt a surge of renewed energy coursing through her veins, her strength reigniting like a wildfire. Magnus handed Lara the ancient blade. Its silver edge shimmered with a soft glow beneath the radiant moonlight. The intense battle began in a violent clash of power and fury. Magnus, with his fierce wolf instincts and unparalleled combat prowess, charged at Cyrus, the ruthless commander of Thana's dark army. Their claws met in a deadly dance of strength, each move calculated yet savage. The ground beneath them shook as they exchanged blows, their growls echoing through the forest like thunder. Cyrus, a formidable opponent, wielded dark magic in tandem with his brute strength, but Magnus’s determination was fueled by something far stronger—his love for Lara and the need to save their son. However, a troubling thought crossed Magnus's mind. What if Thana had left Ethan in the past while transporting them into the future? The idea gnawed at him, deepening hi
An hour had passed, and the moon now hung fully in the sky, its pale light casting a ghostly glow across the clearing. The silvery beams seemed sharper, more menacing, illuminating every shadow with an unsettling clarity. The air felt heavy with power, thick and charged with an unnatural energy that made the hair on Lara's arms stand on end.Thana’s minions, creatures born of darkness and ancient curses, stirred from the edges of the clearing. Their twisted forms emerged from the shadows, hunched and grotesque, their eyes gleaming with a sickly yellow light. They moved like shadows themselves, their elongated limbs barely making a sound as they gathered in a wide circle around the altar where Lara lay bound. The eerie quiet that had lingered over the clearing was shattered by their sudden, discordant noise—a grotesque symphony of guttural growls, snarls, and hisses. It was as if they were celebrating the arrival of the full moon, their voices rising in twisted, manic glee. They swayed
One hour before the moon reached its peak, the sound of the heavy door creaking open echoed through the cold chamber. The air grew thick with an ominous energy as two shadowy figures approached. Without warning, rough hands grabbed Lara, yanking her from the cold stone floor. Her heart raced as she was dragged out of the chamber, the clinking of chains around her wrists growing louder with each step. She could feel the biting cold of the iron shackles against her skin, already bruised from earlier struggles.Outside, the chilling night air hit her face, carrying with it a scent of damp earth and decaying leaves. The open space of Thana’s dwelling stretched out before her—an ancient, desolate clearing surrounded by towering black trees, their twisted branches clawing at the sky. In the center stood a large, stone altar—a wide rectangular table carved with dark runes that pulsed with malevolent energy.Lara was thrown onto the table with brutal force, her back hitting the cold stone as
Magnus and his companions stood among the lifeless bodies of Thana’s fallen minions, their breathing heavy, muscles tensed with the aftermath of battle. Blood and dirt clung to their armor, but they stood victorious—yet Magnus’s heart was far from settled. His eyes scanned the thick, twisted forest, searching desperately for the dark whirlwind that was said to be the entrance to Thana’s ominous dwelling. Time was running out, and every second spent searching was another moment Lara remained in danger. The dense forest was unnervingly silent now, only the rustle of leaves underfoot and the faint crackle of energy from the magic that still lingered in the air. Magnus’s thoughts raced as they moved through the shadowy terrain, his mind a storm of worry for Lara. Every passing second without finding her gnawed at his soul. He knew Thana was preparing to carry out her evil plan, and if they didn’t find the entrance soon, it would be too late.Suddenly, a faint gust of wind brushed past him
