CHAPTER 137- Despair and Devastation

Lara slowly regained consciousness, her eyelids fluttering open as a dull ache pulsed through her body. The sterile smell of antiseptic filled her nostrils, and the faint hum of machinery buzzed in the background. Her vision was blurry at first, but as her senses sharpened, she realized she was lying on a cold metal bed inside the infirmary of Tribiano. White walls and the soft glow of fluorescent lights above cast a sterile, almost haunting ambiance around her.

It took several moments before the fog in her mind began to clear. She blinked, her breath quickening as fragmented memories came rushing back—flashes of Magnus, the battle, and, most of all, the dark figure of Thana taking her son's life.

Her heart leaped in her chest as panic set in.

"Where is Magnus? I want to see him!" she rasped, her throat dry, the words barely audible. She tried to sit up, her body trembling with weakness, but a sharp pain in her ribs forced her back down. Her head spun, but her desperation overpower
