Chapter 2

"There it is, Jane said while pointing at the direction of the cafe. 

They were still holding hands while they walk towards the cafe'. It was a nice small cozy cafe, it only offer a small menu choices like drinks, pastas and cakes. When they went in, Dan chose where to sit, he sat down by the table up second floor only then he let go of Janes hands. 

"Jane, don't ever apologize for being yourself.... starting today! I liked holding your hands" He said to Jane. 

"Jane, felt flushed as she heard this words from Dan, "I liked holding your hand too. Ahh I mean "Gosh. "I mean, you might get lost, there was too many people in the shopping park earlier. Jane embarrasingly explained. 

"Yes, I agree" Dan Said. It's been 3 years since I've been here I think I'll get lost, well I did until fortunately I seen you. 

Jane saw the sadness in his eyes again, and wondered. 

"Why are you here anyway, I mean this is not somewhere a person of your status will go? Jane asked. 

Dan laughed "Jane, you have too many questions. Dan answered as he continued laughing. 

"Alright then,since you don't want to tell. Jane said. 

Dan heard Janes stomach rumbling and laughed. "It's sounds like someone needs feeding" teased Dan. Jane smile in embarrassment. "Yes, I guess so!

"Let me buy you lunch" Offered Dan. "Thats fine, I'll get mine myself" Declined Jane, she never liked someone paying for her food. 

"No I insist, then maybe I can answer 5 questions that you may have and then maybe you can answer my questions while we eat, if that's okay with you? Dan asked. 

"Yeah, okay, I don't mind at all... Answered Jane- "but let's get something to eat first, I'm starving... add Jane.

Few minutes later the waiter came with their food, Janes eyes smiled as she watched the waiter laid the food infront of her. 

"I'm starving, She said as she grabbed her fork and digged in the Carbonara she ordered. 

"Alright then, Jane, ask away! Dan uttered. 

"hmmm, Ano gusto mo sa isang babae? Ha! I'm kidding! Why is this the first time I saw you in the office? Jane asked- " For a long time I have always thought that Mr. Parc doesn't have a family. So I was wondering who you were when Mr. Gibbson mentioned you. She added. 

"What? you thought that dad was childless? why would you think that? Dan uttered in confusion?

"I don't mean to insult you nor your father, its just me! I don't really get into anyones business. Your dad was a very quiet man, and I wasn't really working closely with him anyway so I don't really know a thing. Jane explained. 

"You mean for the 3 years that you were working for my dad, not once you were curious about him and his family? Dan was intrigue. 

"I was too busy doing my job and also, I have targets! I wanted to get promoted as soon as I can! I don't really have time to gossip nor talk about our bosses. I just carry on. Jane explained. 

"Wow, you amazed me Jane, no wonder your work is flawless not a single mistake! Dan said. 

"You still haven't answered my question? How come I have never seen you in the office? All of the sudden, you are this 'KNOW IT ALL, who wants to change every single thing in the office" Janes blurted, "Ahm I mean sorry, I didn't mean it like that" Jane added embarrassed and tapped her mouth. 

Dan laughed "I thought you are not the gossip type?" Jane flushed red with embarrassment. 

"I've lived in NEW YORK for a long time, I was doing my post graduate degree in Entrepreneurship in one of the Universities there, I have completed it now, I was so excited to tell my dad about it but got a call from Mr. Gibbson about what happen to dad. I only went to the office yesterday because for the last few months I was sorting out some affairs that involves my dads accident" Explained Dan. 

"Is the Parc Industries part of that affairs you're trying to sort out? She asked. 

"This is your 2nd question now Jane, follow up questions are counted too you know" Dan smirked. 

"Jane, giggled as she thought she could get away with it. 

"You are quite an interesting person Ms. Devi, and yes a big part of my return is to lead the Parc Industries now that my Father is gone. I need to save the company for the memory of my father. I can't just let it die, I wouldn't want to dissappoint my Dad. He explained. 

She was about to ask more question when the waiter came to ask them if they needed anything else. Jane was looking at Dan while he was kindly declining the waiter. He's not suitable for her, He's way out of her league. I am simple, born from a working class family and He's a handsome rich guy. I wouldn't expect anything to happen between us. It's just ridiculous. She thought to herself. 

"Now its my turn to ask" Dan said teasingly. 

"You graduated top of your class, I bet a lot of companies are trying to get you on board. Why did you choose Parc Industries? Dan asked curiously. 

"Is this an interview Mr. Parc? are you offering me another position? Jane said jokingly.

"Well it has been a dream for me to work in property developement and management. I am a frustrated interior designer and architect ha" she laughingly added. 

She hysterically laughed on her own joke that she didn't see the glass next to her. She accidentally knocked it over spilling the liquid all over the table and to Dans chest. 

"Oh shit" I'm so sorry Dan, I'm so clumsy!. She took a table napkin and started tapping Dans chest and arsm attempting to dry it off. Jane flustered in embarrasment as she continued to pat him dry. Everything was wet, the floor, the table and the seat where Dan was seated. 

"Your apolgies is not accepted Jane, while reaching out the water next to him flick a little water to Janes face playfully. They laughed and continued drying the area. 

"That ain't nice, I didn't mean to soak you! she splashed the little puddle of water to Dan. 

Dan was laughing his heart out as Jane missed her shot. They look like 2 little children as they giggle on the table spalshing the water on the table. 

They stopped playing when they heard something smashed and banged. It was the waiter, he and the plates full of food fell on the floor as he stepped on the puddle of water and slipped. Dan ran towards him to help him up and apologize for the mess, reach down his pocket and hand over a massive tip to the waiter. 

"I'm okay sir, thank you for the tip" the waiter said cheerfully!

Jane was sat quietly while the cafe staff was busy cleaning their table. They went back to their meal as soon as the staff finished cleaning. Jane could't help but to burst out laughing thinking about what happen earlier, she forced herself to stop laughing when she noticed that Dan was looking at her with a big grin in his face. 

"You are one of a kind Ms. Devi. Dan blurted out.

"And why is that Mr. Parc? asked Jane. 

"Because you are the most beautiful, real person I have met so far since I came back, You are true to yourself and I like that kind of personality. Dan uttered. 

"Thank you" as she flustered, she couldn't think of any other answer. It made her feel tingly like something is tickling her from within. 

"And that' by the way, is considered your second question2" he continued. 

"That is unfair" she blurted with a smile. 

"What did you say? I'm handsome? he said teasingly. 

"Fine, whatever you say! She didn't expect him to answer back when she noticed that he was staring at her. 'Oh Gosh is he going to kiss me? She thought quietly. They didn;t say a word for a while, they were just staring to each others eyes. A few moments later, Dan raised his right hand and stroke Janes cheeks "There's still water here" he uttered softly. 

Dan then slid his fingers down her lips, Jane felt the sensations and closed her eyes. "Too beautiful" he whispered to himself. Jane didnt expect him to say that when she heard him whisper those words. 

Jane couldn't control her feelings, she felt a sudden weakness on her feet, she thought it seems like she is in one of those dramas she watches on TV. Is he going to kiss me? She thought to herself but nothing happend, It was taking so long that she decided to open her eyes. She saw Dan looking out the window again and in deep thought, staring blankly. There goes the romantic moment, she said to herself sighing. 

She sighed "Dan?" she started talking to him. 

"Don't say it Jane, don't apologize again, he suddenly said to Jane.

Misty just kept silent, she felt like something is troubling Dan. It made her want to help him let go of the pain he is hiding inside. If only she knows how to. 

"Question number 2: What are you really doing here in a very crowded shopping park? She asked to break the silence. 

"I am looking for a specific flower, this is the only place I could get it from, for the life of me I could not remember where the shop is" He answered as he smacked his head. 

"What kind of flowers are you looking for? she asked

"Blue roses." 

"Ohh, ""ooooh" she wanted to ask who the flowers are for, but she felt something struck her heart knowing she might not like what he will answer her. 

"I know where you could get them, Come' I'll show you where it is" She added and smiled at him. 

They went through a huge crowd of people again to get to the flower shop that she knows that are selling blue roses. 

While they were walking throught he huge crowd of shoppers, Dan tried to get hold of Janes hands but Jane is trying to avoid it. He attempted many times and finally got her hand. "I might get lost again" He told Jane as he smirked. 

Jane looked at him with a grin in his face like a puppy desparate for attention. 

"Fine, lets go. She said! and smiled secretly. 

They arrived at the shop, Dan was so happy to see that the shop that Jane took him was the same shop that he was talking about. He bought 2 dozens of Blue roses and asked them to have it arrange in a beautiful vase. It looked very special, it seems like he'll be giving these to a very special person 'she thought to herself, she could't help feel jelous about it. Who could be the lucky girl recieving these beutiful flowers. 

"Let me drive you home"Dan offered after pciking up the flowers he bought. He seems to be in a hurry to get these flowers to the person he's giving it to - Jane thought. 

"Lets go, my car is just parked by the outskirts of the shopping park. Let me take you home. 

"That's okay, I'll go home myself. I'm fine. Also, I need to go get some stuff for myself. She said to Dan. Thank you for the treat. She added smiling at him. 

"It was my pleasure Jane, thank you for the company. I enjoyed talking to you. Dan answered with a smile. You also owe me 4 more questions that you need to answer!. He giggled. 

"Yes, Boss" she answered with a laugh. 

"You are one funny girl Jane"

Dan was still holding her hand while they were walking to the car, he asked again if he could drive her home. She refused kindly. 

"Okay then, I'll see you soon Jane. 

She waved as he drove off.
