The basketball couples

Second day at school,

  

  

   The morning class went as usual,they were given a group assignment and the group members were to be picked at random the next day.The class was dismissed and everyone dispersed for lunch.A eating,Jake invited Cammy to the basketball team and naturally Alice tagged along as she walks side by side with Cammy.

  

  

   Jake has been wanting to take a step ahead towards courting Cammy but Alice is always in his way.in the morning when they were coming to class he has wanted to go meet her but someone when he was so close to reaching her ,Alice held her in the hand and ran fast,he found it weird because they weren’t late but just warded it off.He even had to use his flirting skills to get a girl sitting beside Cammy to move her desk so he can sit beside her but Alice proposed to the teacher to move the tall persons to the back that she can’t see from her seat and he was moved to the back while she got to sit with Cammy.

  

  He finally thought he had the chance now,Alice couldn’t know how to place basketball,she’s not good at anything anyways,but to his greatest surprise she tagged along.He was at the verge of losing his patience,he asked the team leader to fish out the people that cannot play basketball and only came for the sight and to get closer to the boys and the team leader naturally agreed .

  

  

  The team leader assembled all the members which is surprisingly more than the basketball team has ever had and it's all because of Jake.The team leader haron addressed them and proposed the idea of a competition and every new member is to participate or they would be kicked out. He gave them a week to prepare .

  

  

  

  Jake is naturally happy about the announcement,since he was scouted he didn’t need to participate but others do.The more reason he is happy is because he could finally get the chance to be alone with Cammy and without Alice supervision.

  

  

     Alice accompanied Cammy to the basketball team and stuck to her like glue. Earlier in the morning she had seen Jake get out of his expensive sports car and it seemed like he was waiting for them to arrive. She noticed Cammy didn’t see him and she thought of what to do to avoid Jake ,when she saw he was getting closer she panicked and dragged Cammy by the hand and ran as fast as she could. Cammy questioned her later but she just told her she thought they were late.

  

  

   Jake even had the audacity to try to sit beside Cammy on her watch,she did him dirty and used his height against him.She has never felt so satisfied and accomplished,messing around with people is so much fun but she wouldn’t want to stress herself unless it’s someone that has a relation to Cammy .

  

  

     Seeing the proposal made by the team leader,Alice wouldn’t be surprised if she knew it was Jake that actually proposed it,she also did him dirty and it was only normal for him to do the same but little did he know she’s a smart one,she might not be better than him in playing basketball but she could be sure they have the same level of skills.

  

  

  The team leader asked the members to warm up and just watch the original members play and they could also join if they can.Jake took the opportunity to approach Cammy.

  

  ‘Hi ,wanna join in the game? We have a slot for one person’ 

  

  Jake said as he made emphasis on one and Alice naturally knew she got the great devil pissed with the tricks she had been pulling. This time she didn’t make things difficult and let him have it his way,she didn’t want Cammy to be suspecting something is wrong.

  

  

  Jake leads Cammy to the dressing room and she got changed and  ready to play. 

  

  

  The game was between two teams,the red and blue teams . Cammy and Jake are both in the red team and they have 10 members each.The match would be going on for 30 minutes straight with 2 sets in total an hour.

  

  The game started and the referee signalled for both teams to begin. Jake, as one of their elite shooters, was giving the role of shooting while some others were to defend and block the other team.

  

  Even though it is Cammy's first time playing with them,she quickly adjusts to their style and plays skilfully. She and Jake took on the role of shooting and she easily shot a 3 points ball into the basket during the first round.

  

  

  The crowd were surprised,she is a new member and she is already playing so well better than the seniors ,the seniors in the red team seeing another basketball guru in their team gained more confidence in winning and played even better to defend Cammy and Jake as they shot the ball gracefully each points not less than 2 every time.

  

  During the second half of the game the red team was already winning by 104 points while the blue team were on four.

  

  The referee signalled for a short break before they continued and the blue team devised a plan to make a formation to block the best shooters. They thought since Cammy is a girl and would be physically weak they could easily block her and play well but to their greatest surprise,even when Cammy is in the middle and has boys blocking her left and right,when the ball is passed to her she easily shoots in a 3 point ball and before the end of the game their score skyrocketed to 200 points while the blue team could only get 10 points overall. 

  

  They were beaten badly,the teamwork between Cammy and Jake cannot be underestimated. It was as though they had been playing together for so long and are used to themselves.

  

   The crowd cheered for Cammy and Jake  and they were soon given a couple names, the basketball couples .

  

  The school journalists took photos of the biggest score ever and posted on the school platform and on other platforms,they were everywhere as the power couples. 

  

  Hearing those shipping Cammy and Jake so quickly made Alice so angry and nauseous,she felt like shoving a punch down their throats.

  

  

  Cammy could hear the cheers and felt very happy and great. Jake approaches her after they were announced as winners and hugs her tightly,he then pats her on the head and whispers ‘you did well’ into her ears.

  

  

  Cammy's face immediately flushed tomato red and she nodded and smiled gently as she replied with a thank you.

  

  She felt so stupid,shy and small in front of him,she couldn’t control her self ,her thoughts,her expression,everything felt as though she had no control over it. She likes him too much.
