7 years later.

Rodleigh's Point of View:

"Over the years, we can't deny to ourselves that many of us have changed. Just like our company, we started with just a small business, but because of the diligence and perseverance of all of us, there and now we are. Let's go up!"

We gave a round of applause after Daddy spoke.

"And not only that! Like I said before, many of us have changed. Like me, I can no longer manage the company..."

Suddenly everyone stopped at what Dad said next. His face also became sad. Perhaps he is sad because what he started he will now give up. Even Mommy and I were surprised. There was a rumor inside the hall because of what Daddy would unexpectedly say.

"I told you, my older brother will give me his position in the Company." It was Aunt Rezel, Dad's younger sister. She had been urging Daddy for a long time to give her his position in the company because of the illness that Dad was suffering from. I don't think that he will give up his CEO position now.

"That's why, I want to introduce you to our new CEO," Daddy looked at the behavior of Aunt Rezel and her husband. Auntie's smile widened because of that.

"Rodleigh Mariano Del Mundo! My only son. Everyone, our new CEO!" I was speechless. I'm not expecting Dad to gave me his position in the company. We never talked about him handing over the CEO position of the company to me.

"This can't be!" Suddenly Aunt Rezel stood up and glared at me.

"You don't deserve the position, Rodleigh!" It was auntie, again.

"Stop it, aunt Rezel, before I lost my respect to you." I calmly told her before she even made a mess.

"Son," Mommy pointed me down the red carpet towards Dad. I stood up and adjusted my clothes before finally approaching Daddy.

"What can you say about this surprise, son?" Dad asked with a laugh.

"Honestly speaking, I was got shocked, Dad." Daddy just laughed again before handing me the microphone.

"Everyone, I wanted to say thank you to all of you! Thank you so much for choosing our company to dedicate your diligence, perseverance, and for giving your whole self to every job you do." Loud applause stopped me for a moment as I spoke.

"The company would not have reached the pinnacle of success if it were not for you all, our workers. Therefore, I want to thank you all. You can count on me to be here anytime, ready to do my duty for the greater good of all of us! "

After I spoke, there was almost a shout and applause in the hall where we celebrated the 33rd anniversary of the Valle-Del Mundo Group of Companies.

Valle-Del Mundo Group of Companies is mom and Dad's own. They built it together after their marriage.

VDM Group of Companies supplies the number one best luxury furniture worldwide.

"Congrats, son!" Mom greeted me warmly.

"Thanks, mom."

After the event, Mom and Dad went home. While I left the office. I still have to finish something.

"Congrats, Del Mundo!" I looked up from my laptop here in the office when I suddenly heard Chua's voice.

"You're late, man!" I immediately stood up to greet him.

"I'm not Jacob Alejandro Chua if I came early." he laughed.

"Yeah, yeah." I shook my head while laughing. He's right, he's not Chua if he can't always come late. I offered him a chair, in front of my table.

"You're a CEO now, huh? We're moving forward, hmm? But sadly, no love life—ouch!"

"You know what, Chua? Your mouth is too much, it should be knocked down!" I joked.

"Fvck you!" He cursed.

"Back to you." I winked at him. I just laughed when he suddenly acted like he was going to vomit because of what I did.

"Why did you call me?" He asked me with a raised eyebrow.

"I need your help,"

His left eyebrow rose again.

"If you tell me to find you a wife because you're getting older, I'm sorry, Del Mundo but my wife might get mad at me when I do what you want—ouch!" I threw the ballpen I was holding at him. It's because his mouth is too much.

"Crazy!"

"Then, what help do you need from me?" he asked.

"You have been the CEO of your company for a long time, can you please give me some advice on how to be a better—"

"HAHAHAHAHA"

"HAHAHAHAHA"

"HAHAHAHAHA"

"What the hell, Chua?"

Because he looked crazy funny and it seemed like he had no intention of stopping from laughing so I got up from my chair and punched him on the table to stop him.

"Y-you're --- HAHAHHAHA"

"What's funny?" I asked him annoyed.

"You're actually ---- HAHAHHAHA"

"Damn you! Get out of my office, now!" I shouted at him because I was so annoyed.

"HAHAHAHAHA! I'm sorry—HAHAHHA"

Before I could be filled with him I dragged him out of my office.

What did he think of what I said, a joke? To make him laugh so badly?

Ugh!

Damn you, Chua!

You got married and had children all together! You're still really pissed me off!

What is wrong with me asking him for help? I just want to be a good CEO of the company, is that bad?

Is there something wrong with my question to make him laugh?

Annoying!

Cianna's Point of View:

"Hey, can you please answer my assignment too? I'm too sleepy. . ."

"Nah! Answer it with your own! Why too lazy, Lessana?"

"I'm not lazy, Lessandra!"

"Girls! Stop it already, okay?"

Before the two of them got into a fight, I intervened with them.

"Lessandra is right, you have to answer your assignment with your own." I explain to Lessana. She suddenly frowned and sniffed as she answered her notebook.

"No one will fight, okay? I'll be angry!"

"Yes," they both replied.

"Good. I'm watching you two . . ." I reminded them again before I returned to my table to continue what I was doing.

"Cianna, it looks like you need to help raise the two. I can feel you, and I can see right in your eyes that you can no longer afford to raise them alone,"

I stopped typing on the computer after I felt the presence of auntie behind me.

"Auntie I can do it, I have my stable job as a model. My manager said, when they turned seven she will also take my children as models. That was four months from now, they will soon be seven. Besides, they are already big I will also save—"

"That's not what I mean, hija. I mean, why don't you go back to the Philippines? Why don't you go back to your parents? To the father of your twins?"

Because of what auntie said so I suddenly felt anger in my heart.

"Auntie, if you don't want us here in your house anymore, just tell me. My children and I will just move to a condo,"

I couldn’t help but not raise my voice auntie. For seven years, only now has he been like this. It was as if he was driving us away.

"Hija, calm down okay? Calm down. Just because I'm telling you those things doesn't mean I'm driving you away. That I don't want you here at home anymore, of course, I want you and your kids to be here. "

"My only thing is that seven years have passed since you left the Philippines without warning. Don't you feel sorry for your parents? They're still looking for you. Your mama called again earlier, she still insisted asked if you were here. "

"Aren't those seven years old enough Cianna? Isn't that enough for you to go back to them again?"

I don’t know what to answer auntie. I just cried. I don't know but if you're the only one to ask me, I don't want to go back to the Philippines.

"Mommy, why are you crying? Are you still mad at us?"

My tears were suddenly wiped away when Lessandra suddenly approached me.

She's Lessandra Margarette Alvarez.

I nodded, "No baby, mommy isn't mad anymore. Mommy is okay," I explained to her as I wiped away my tears.

"Mommy I'm sorry, sorry for making you cry." Lessanna frowned. She's Lassanna Scarlett Alvarez.

"Ssh, mommy isn't mad at you. I'm just happy, babies, mommy is just happy that you two came into my life."

"We love you so much, mommy!" They said together before they kissed me on both cheeks. Because of what they did, I seem to have forgotten the problems I bring.

"Aww. The sweet-sweet of my grandchildren." Suddenly auntie said that she was just looking at us.

"Let's have a group hug!" Suddenly the two said so my auntie and I just went together.

"Group hug!" At once we said.

"Are you done with your homework?" I asked the two of them.

"Yes, mommy!" They respond simultaneously.

"Very good! All right, go to your room."

"Okay, Mommy. Good night, sweet dreams."

"Good night babies. Mommy loves you both!" I said and gave them kisses on their cheeks.

"Think about it Cianna, your parents can't take it anymore. You're their only child, remember?"

I was just swayed by what my auntie said again. I thought she was already done about that topic, but, oh yeah!

"I'll think about it, auntie. Don't worry," I gave her my sweetest smile so that she'll end this nonsense conversation.

"Okay. Good night, hija. Get some rest after he does you."

"Yes auntie, the good night too."

In my almost seven years here in Paris, it's only now that I'm under pressure from what my auntie is saying.

Seven years ago, I left the Philippines to forget. To forget the pain that my ex-husband's given me. To forget all about him.

I left to get away from my parents. To my parents who did nothing but ignore me, and force me to do things I didn't want to do.

I left to change myself. I left to change what I used to be weak.

I left to have a better and peaceful life. In almost seven years, I can say I have achieved all of that.

I was living my life now to its fullest, with my twin.

If it was just me, I'm contented with what I have and where I am right now.

Not until auntie Carmilla started pressuring me about going back to the Philippines. Like, what do I do there?

Just oppress them again?

No way!

I don't feel like seeing them again.

But,

And at some point, I also think about what auntie said. She's right, mama and papa can't take it anymore.

According to auntie, mama has been going back and forth to the hospital because of her illness which until now has not been diagnosed by doctors.

I want to see and talk to mama. But it's not possible, because when they find out where I am, they will go to me. Worst is, my children may even be affected by the things they will force me to do again.

Auntie Carmilla Alvarez was my Papa's older sister. The night I left the country, she's the one who helped me.

She had known for a long time what my situation was with my ex-husband and how my father dictated my life.

As a child, I was very close to my auntie, because when mama was at work, she was always with me.

So maybe almost all my secret is she was one of the two people I trusted. Auntie Carmilla and Jacob Chua, my ex-husband's best friends.

She also arranged my paper to save the country without anyone seeing or knowing my records. I know that mama and papa will search the whole country to find me then, and even Rodleigh will probably do that.

As I was refreshing some of my past my cellphone suddenly rang.

Manager Dei is calling...

I immediately answered it with a smile on my lips. She's my manager in my modeling career here in Paris.

"Good evening manager Dei," I greeted her over the phone.

"A pleasant evening to Miss Alvarez," she greeted me back.

"I suggest you go early to the studio tomorrow, I have good news for you, my dear!" She sounds so happy and excited while saying those words to me. So, I also feel the same.

"Really? Wah! Can't wait to hear that good news from you, manager Dei!"

"Yeah, I know you'll be happy and excited after our talk tomorrow. See you tom my dear, have sweet dreams!" She said that makes me smile even wider.

"Sweet dreams too, manager Dei! Good night," After saying goodbye to each other, our conversation over the phone ended.

The next day, as manager Dei and I talked on the phone, I went in early.

After hearing her good news, I feel the opposite of what I felt last night.

"I can't promise to accept this offer manager," I said lazily after hearing the good news she was saying.

"Why? What's the problem of it, Cianna?" She's disappointed that's why she's calling me by my name.

"I can't go to the Philippines for the shoot. It's personal reason—"

"Your issue isn't an acceptable reason to refuse this project, Cianna! Come on! It's the company itself who approached me! I can't believe you, you're working with me for almost five years and now you're declining this offer because of your issues? It's about your work Cianna, not about your pride! "

I almost lost my words to defend myself from manager Dei. I can't find the right words to explain my side.

I understand her, I understand why she is angry. Of course, this was the first time someone had offered her a project outside of Paris, it was her very big achievement that can be considered for almost twenty years in this field.

But I'm not ready to return to the Philippines yet. First of all, this is where my children study. Second, I’m happy to be here in Paris. I've been living here for seven years.

Finished like this? First, it's auntie Carmilla, now it's manager Dei.

"I'll think of it manager Dei," I shyly told her.

"Give me your answer as soon as possible. Or else I'll find another model for this project. I can't lose this project, Cianna, it's very important to me."

I nodded, "Yeah, I understand you manager Dei. I'm sorry for bringing here my issues. I almost forgot your rules," I said nodding. Manager Dei did not utter a word. She nodded slowly before finally leaving the room.

Rodleigh's Point of View: "Sir, do you know her?" I just got to my office room and that was the first question Danielle, my personal assistant, asked me. "Next time, don't you ever dare to touched my things, Danielle!" I violently grabbed the picture frame she was holding and returned it to where I first placed it. "Get out!" I shouted at her. "I'm sorry, Sir, I'm really sorry." She nodded before rushing out of the room. I sat down in my swivel chair and slowly looked at her picture. "It's been seven years, Cianna, but why I can't find you no matter what I do?" I asked myself as I started touching her face through the picture frame that I am holding. "Excuse me!" "Chua!" I quickly stood up to face Chua. "What was that?" He asked meaningfully as he slowly stepped closer to me. "What are you hiding behind you, Del Mundo?" "None of your business! What's bring you here?" I asked. "Really? I thought you already moved on?" He said with a smile after he took the picture of Cianna

  • When A Martyr Wife Gets Tired   Chapter 7: Her Comeback

Rodleigh's Point of View: "Good morning, Mr. Del Mundo!" It was manager Dei who greeted me. "Good morning," I replied. "Is your model ready?" I asked her. "Yes, yes, she's ready. Still, I just wanted to say sorry—" "It's not your fault manager, it was me who caused trouble yesterday, so let me do it instead of you." A woman who had just arrived stopped manager Dei from telling her. She has a long silky straight hair. She's also wearing a six inches highheels, (I don't know the exact size, actually) I couldn’t face her because of the sunglasses she was wearing. She's really a model the way she dresses up. "I'm sorry for not showing up yesterday, Mr. Del Mundo." At the same time she said she remove the brown shades she was wearing. "Cianna?" From the moment I sat down I stood up after I faced her. "Cianna, it's you—" When I about to touch her hands she suddenly grab it back. "Excuse me, Mr. Del Mundo, do you know me?" She asked without showing an emotion. "Ye-yeah—" "Really?

  • When A Martyr Wife Gets Tired   Chapter 8: Accident

Cianna's POV: Today is the last day of my shoot here in VDM Group of Companies, I was excited of course, because my kids and I are going back to Paris. I've been in the Philippines for a month but I haven't visited mama and papa yet. I also don't know how to deal with them again. That's why I'm planning to see them tomorrow. I want to apologize to them for what I did, leaving and hiding for almost seven years. I really miss them too. About Rod, he's always trying to talk to me about our past but I never give him a chance. I'd rather deny it forever than talk to him about it. "Break time is over!" Manager Dei shouted, so, I immediately got up to return to my seat. When I focused my attention on what I was doing, my cellphone suddenly rang. But since the cameras are already set up, I don't know if I will answer the call first or continue my pose. I looked around at manager Dei and at the bag where my cellphone was. "Go ahead, answer it first." I breathed a sigh of relief because my

Cianna's POV: It's also been a week since we got out of the hospital. I am thankful that my daughters are doing well now. Because of what happened, so much realization hits me. I want to introduce my daughters to my parents, I also want to apologize to them for what I did, leaving them before."Mommy, where are we going?" Lessanna asked crookedly as I dressed her with her twins, Lessandra. "Secret!" I said smiling. She suddenly frowned at my response. "Mommy, you're now keeping secrets!" Lessandra suddenly said while frowning. She even rolled her eyes at me. "That's bad, Baby." I said seriously before I combed her long hair. "You know that I hate secrets, Mom." She said pouting. She's so cute doing that. "All right, just now." My tenderness to them. "Promise? No more secrets after this?" They both asked while their eyes are shining. I was stunned for a moment. I can't promise not to keep it a secret from them. I've been keeping something a secret from them for almost three years

  • When A Martyr Wife Gets Tired   Chapter 10: Tell Me What To Do

Cianna's POV: "Thank you!" I smiled in gratitude to Rum for helping me lift the twins to their room. Rum just smiled back at me. When we put them both down on their bed, Rum slowly stepped out of the twin's room. While we were on our way home earlier, the twins fell asleep. Maybe they were tired of playing with their Grandma Marianne. After I arranged and covered the two with blanket, I slowly left their room. "Cianna, let's talk." Rum said calmly to me as I exited the twin room. "What's your plan?" he asked. I bowed. I also don't know what my plan is after what happened. My twins birthday is coming next month, Mommy and Daddy requested that they will prepare for my children's 7th birthday, they said they want to make up for the years they haven't been with us. Something out of the plan, this week, after our project with the VDM Group of Companies we were scheduled to go home to Paris. But it looks like that won’t happen because we still have to stay until my daughters' birthday. "To

  • When A Martyr Wife Gets Tired   Chapter 11: I Want To D*e

Jacob's POV:"What do you think you're doing, Del Mundo?" I asked him angrily the moment he wakes up. He was still asleep last night when he was taken to the hospital, only this morning he woke up."Why I am here?" He asked, not answering my question."Damn!" He cursed after I hit his forehead. He tried as hard as he could to remove the serum that was attached to him. I know he's a doctor, but I guess he don't have the right to remove that apparatus because he's a patient now, not a doctor."Who told you to take that off?" I stared at him. He did not say a word. He seems problematic, I mean, he's obviously problematic."Why haven't I died yet?" He's asking his self. I narrowed my eyes at him. This man!I was about to hit his forehead again, hoping that he'll back to his senses, but I got stunned from what I have seen. He's crying! This is the first time I saw him cried. I often saw him angry before.I don't know how to comfort him. I'm not used to this. I've never seen him like this h

Cianna's POV:"I'm sorry, my friend called." Jacob apologizes. I just smiled at him, saying that it's okay."No problem." I told him. I heard everything, I don’t know if it was his intentions, to let me know what happened to Rodleigh.I felt guilty for what I have done. I shouldn’t have said those words to him. I only said those words because I was so angry. I admit, I was wrong on that point."If you don't have anything else to say, can I go home? The kids are already waiting for me." I asked.Jacob seems bothered. There seems to be something in him that he wants to say, I don’t know what’s stopping him."If you want to say something, that's fine. You can say it." I smiled and told him."Is it okay?" He asked. I nodded."Go on." I smiled at him."Del Mundo, he changed a lot." I looked into his eyes. He's saying the truth.Jacob's a nice friend. He's actually one of my nicest friend. I'm grateful for that. What he did for me then, I won't forget it all, his kindness and care for me.A

Rodleigh's POV:It's been a week since I got out of the hospital. I'm so happy right now, honestly.I called Cianna yesterday, we've talked about our meeting today.I made reservations at the most beautiful and famous restaurant just near my office. I also arrived earlier for our date, I don’t know if she will consider this as a date, but for me it is."Good evening!"I quickly stood up to greet Cianna. She just arrives and she's smiling at me. My heart also seemed to leap with joy, seeing her smile genuinely, it's heart whelming. I feel like she is slowly opening her heart to me—again."Good evening!" I help her sit up. She didn’t complain or say anything that would hurt me, I’m glad. I know how kind she is. What she is showing me now is her true identity."What do you want to eat?" I asked her. The waiter also approached us to pick up our order."I'll see what I like." She smiled at me before looking at the menu. I was swallowed. Her smiles were strange to me. It seems that my confi

I first checked to see if Owwsic had an update on his new story, but when I saw nothing else I was annoyed and threw away my phone and went downstairs. I hated Franz, but I didn't want to sleep without eating. When I came down, I found him busy preparing food on the table. "You know how to cook." I commented coldly as I looked at the food he served on the table. "There's nothing I can't do." he bragged. "I guess the arrogance was over. You're lifting your own chair. Nice." I said sarcastically before he turned away. "Where are you going?" he asked. But I ignored him. He's at fault for me, maybe he forgot? "Wife, I'm asking you." he said sternly. I almost smiled after he called me 'wife' but no, I'm still angry. I continued looking for instant noodles in the food container cabinet. When I saw the cup noodles I smiled as I am try

"You know what Dos? You're bothering me. Look, I'm playing! Why don't you sit beside Tres who is just quiet?" annoyed, Quattro said to Dos. "Look! I'm already dead! You know how good it is to hit you?" He sighed even more after his opponent shot him while he was playing online. "Hey, you two!"We stood up at the same time when Uno arrived. "Why are you late now?" I almost asked Uno. "There's an opponent in the house, I made sure of her safety first." He said without emotion. I smiled after hearing his reasoning. Everyone seems to agree with the plan. Lessanna's POV:Everything went too fast. Then that morning Franz and I got together he immediately offered me marriage. And I never thought our wedding would be held in Canada. Just the other day we came here to the Carters mansion in Canada. Franz says this Mansion in Canada is owned by his Grandfather on his father side. I feel like I'm just in a dream. So there’s no time I don’t pat my cheek to confirm if these things are really happening in my life. I mean, this, today. It never crossed my mind that at the age of twenty-three I would get pregnant and get married. Yes, my dream is to get married but I hope not now. If only I could follow in the footsteps of my Mom Cianna, to become a famous international model. But I feel vague when that thing happens. Maybe, this is really destined and expected to happen, so I have to accept that from this day I am married. I stared at Franz intently after he took my hand to say his vows. "I, Franz Kyle Carter, take you, Lessanna Scarlett D

"I've heard everything, I'm so sorry to hear what happened to you. If only I know that Franz's going to betrayed you, I shouldn't have let him gets you." Ashton said. I just shrugged at the two then hugged them tightly. About my pregnancy, my twin doesn't know about it yet. "It's all right. I'm very much fine." I told them. Lessandra and Ashton just looked at each other, they look like they're not convinced to what I said. Fine. "Hi, baby Hope!" I greeted my niece. She just look straight to me. Her eyes were so beautiful and her face was peaceful. I wish I was still a child like Hope, no problem, no heartache, and peaceful. "Okay, let's go? I know you're tired and you need rest." Lessandra said while smiling."Yeah. Thanks." I said and got into the car. While we were on the way, I was just looking outside. I

Lessanna's POV:It's been almost three days since I found out that I was pregnant. It's just crazy, how come I didn't know I was pregnant? Seriously, you'd think that, who would have thought that Franz Kyle Carter would get me pregnant? Well, he's just sorry because he cheated on me, so it's me and my baby now. I'll take care of this baby in my womb alone.Since it's Sunday now so I'm not in my Boss Tanner's office. By the way, he already knew that I was pregnant. He was the one who took me to the hospital, 3 days ago. It's a good thing that their meeting hasn't started yet, I'm still guilty because I thought I ruined the meeting that we're supposed to be attending because of me, it's a good thing and it's not. As what I am saying, it's Sunday and I'm at the mall now. Cristy also has a walk so she just took me to the mall, she said she would just pass me later. As I was walking, two men suddenly approached me. "Ma'am please come with us." They whispered from behind me. I was sudden

Lessanna's POV:"Lessanna!" Franz called me when he saw me at the restaurant with my new Boss. I did not look at him, instead I accelerated my walk so that he could not reach me."Lessanna, wait!" When he finally chased me, he pulled me closer to him, causing my heart to beat faster."What is your problem?" I asked him annoyed."What's wrong with you? Why did you suddenly leave the hospital yesterday?" He asked me angrily. I laughed at him because of his question."Why, what do you want me to do? Stay there even if your Dad kicks me out? Are you kidding me?" I said full of sarcasm."But we have a deal, right? Haven't we already talked about it? Besides, you said you didn't care what Dad said, did you?" he said. Yes, I said those words but I didn't expect it that it was that painful to hear."But I'm hurt!" my defense of myself."I'm just human too, Franz! How about you, when you're hurt, you're still going to stay? Aren't you?" I shouted angrily at him."Of course, I will stay! Especi

Lessanna's POV:"Good morning!" Franz greeted me warmly when I came out of my room. "Good morning." I greeted him back. It's embarrassing if I'm going to be cursed, isn't it? I'm here at their house so I have to be kind. "Are you nervous?" he asked me so the left side of my eyebrow was raised. "Why would I be nervous?" I raised my eyebrows at him. "I'm just asking because you'll be meeting my father now, right?" he said. I just rolled my eyes. "There's nothing to be nervous about, I don't care what your Dad thinks of me. I don't love you." I said calmly before I turned my back on him. I saw the sudden change in his aura. Maybe he got offended to what I said. Even though I knew he was offended I didn’t apologize. I was right. I don't care if her Dad accepts me or not. After Franz and I had talked earlier, he never spoke again. I can feel that he's really upset to what happened earlier, but it's not my fault. It's his fault for being offended. Now we are currently walking into h

  • When A Martyr Wife Gets Tired   Chapter 52: Trying to be a Responsible Wife

Lessanna's POV:After our conversation at the hospital I could do nothing but agree to his request. We just arrived in Los Angeles today and he took me right away to his office here and introduced me to his employees as his wife. "Franz, what's that?" I asked Franz angrily when we got home to his mansion. He first took off his coat then he just threw it on the headboard of his bed. Messy! "What?" He asked. He is now sitting on the bed and taking off his socks. "Why so fast? And who told you you could kiss me? It was my first kiss!" I said angrily.
