Getting Laura's attention

It was Friday and Federick had finished his work. On that day, he planned to meet Laura. He brought a bucket of roses from his table that he bought when he ate out for lunch before leaving his room. He knew that laura’s favorite flower was roses. He glanced at his wristwatch and then hurried up because the shop would be closed. Frederick would do his plan with his girlfriend, Natalie starting from that night.

His first mission was to make Laura fall in love with him again and also showed her if he loved her as well. He hoped that she was not in a relationship with anyone, so his mission would be easy to be done. 

Daniel saw Frederick when he went out of his room and brought a bucket of roses. He wondered where he wanted to go and to whom he would give those roses. Because he was curious, he decided to spy on him. When spying on Frederick, Daniel made a distance from him for about 12 meters away. He did not want Frederick to know if he spied on him.

After 7 minutes of walking, Frederick stopped in front of a place that was familiar for him. Frederick's destination was Laura’s shop and Daniel could guess to whom he would give the roses. 

Daniel's heart was broken when he realized that Frederick had a feeling for Laura, but he would never give up on her. He should tell Laura about his feelings as soon as possible before it was late. He would do anything to get her as long as Laura was not married to another man. 

Frederick hid the roses behind his back before he entered the shop. He wanted to give Laura a surprise. When he was already in, there were none of the customers inside because the shop would be closed. Frederick came when Laura was preparing for going home.

"Hi, beautiful Lady!" Frederick greeted Laura, so she would realize if there was someone coming in of the shop.

"Hi, Fred! Why do you come? Our shop is closed now.” 

“Yeah, I know. I come here because I have something for you." 

"Really? What is that?" Laura was curious.

"Beautiful roses for the most beautiful lady," Frederick then showed the roses behind his back to Laura and then gave it to her.

"Aww, thanks a lot, Fred. You are really sweet." Laura was blushing as red as a tomato when she got those roses from him. She was jubilant because of the man who she loved giving her a bucket of roses for the first time. 

"Do you like it?" 

"Yes, I do like it. These roses are beautiful," said Laura to Frederick.

When she was smelling the fragrance of those roses, Frederick called her name,

"Laura?"

"Yes?" Laura stared at Frederick.

"Are you free this weekend?" 

"Hmm, yes I am. I don't have any plans for this weekend." 

"Good. Do you want to hang out with me on Sunday?" 

"Hanging out? Just we two?" Laura did not believe what she just heard.

"Yes, we are hanging out together," Frederick made clear his words that he wanted to go out with her on the weekend.

"Hmm..." Laura was not sure if he would go with him.

"Why? You don't want to hang out with me?" asked Frederick when he did not get any answer from Laura.

"No, no. I'm just afraid if I am hanging out with you your girlfriend will get mad," Laura told him about her worry.

Getting that answer from Laura made Frederick surprised, 'Did Laura know that I am still with Natalie?' He wondered.

Frederick tried to hide his shocking face by acting as normal. He did not want Laura suspicious of him.

"No, no one will get mad. I broke up with her one year ago." Frederick answered spontaneously.

"Oh, okay." 

"So, will you hang out with me this weekend?" Frederick asked for hanging out with Laura for the second time.

"Yes," Laura nodded her head.

"Laura, are you in a relationship with someone?" Frederick tried to make sure Laura was still single.

"No, I am not. If I am in a relationship, I just only want a serious relationship that will lead to marriage. We cannot waste our time anymore by having a meaningless relationship," Laura told him about her though.

"I think you are right about that," Frederick agreed to Laura's statement.

Laura was ready to go home. She could not talk to Frederick for long because she should go home. She told Frederick that the shop would be closed.

“Fred, I should close my shop.”

“Oh, yeah. Let’s have a walk, go home together, and continue our conversation.” 

“It is a great idea."  

When they were outside and the shop was already locked, they started walking. Daniel who had waited for them across the shop spying on them. He closed his head with his hoodie, so they would not know it was him. 

Laura was happy because this was her first time going home with Frederick. While walking with Frederick she always smiled.

"Why do you smile?" Frederick asked the reason for her smiling.

"Nothing." 

"I wonder how you feel right now." 

"I am really happy," Laura told him what she felt.

"Why do you feel happy?" 

"Because this is my first time going home with you."

"How is going home with me can make you feel happy?" 

"I think you know the answer," Said Laura and then she ran because she was shy. 

"Hey, why do you run?" Frederick chased her.

"Haha..." Laura just laughed.

They laughed and ran together. Those were the two things that they never did when they were in college because they just read, had lunch, discussed, and repeated. All the things they did were just serious stuff. 

Daniel who was spying on them ran as well, but he tried to keep the distance from them. Laura was tired of running. She stopped herself from running and then had to sit on a bench with a gasping breath. 

Daniel, who spied on them, stopped running and then hid behind the tree. He wanted to eavesdrop to their conversation. 

"How long have you opened your shop?" 

"Hmm, maybe 9 months. Why?" 

"Nothing. I just want to know. What about Daniel? How long have you known him?" Daniel was a little bit shocked when he heard Frederick mention his name to his conversation with Laura. 

"I know him after I open my shop. He is one of my customers." 

"Oh, I see. I felt that he likes you,"

"How did you know? Did he tell you about that?"

"No, I knew it from his gesture and also his question. He asked many questions about you to me."

"When did he do that?" 

"When I came to your shop for the first time and he was already in when I got there."

"Oh, yeah. Maybe the reason why he always stares at me the first time he saw me at the shop because he likes me." Laura realized about Daniel's feelings for her.

"He did it? Staring at you?"

"Yeah, and it made me scared of him. But Emma always said that maybe he just liked me and did not have any bad intentions for me. And what she said is right. You confirm it for me."

"Honestly, I am jealous of him. I do not like it if he is around you," Laura giggled when she heard it.

"It is weird when you say you are jealous of him."

" Weird?"

"Yeah, because we are just friends. You do not have to be jealous when someone else likes me."

"Yeah, you are right. At this time we are just friends." 

"We should continue our walking. Let's go." 

Daniel stopped his spying and he decided to go back home. What he has heard was enough. He was sure to tell Laura about his feelings because he thought he still had hope.
