Chapter 14

Amelia’s POV

I still couldn’t believe I had just made a promise to them and mostly a promise I wasn’t sure could ever happen.

I sat on my side of the room as the brides giggled and talked within themselves and Lucy continued to read a novel one of the guards had given to her as requested from her.

I tried to think of any alternative ways I could make this promise possible, I had driven Luther out of my way and Alpha Damian is the main reason why we are all here in the first place and top it all up Lady Rosa hates me more than her enemies.

I stood subconsciously and began to pace around while the brides who were giggling earlier suddenly kept shut, watching me move back and forth while I thought of a possible way out of this.

That’s when I had an excellent idea, if I could remember very clearly…when I first arrived Alpha Damian fell in love with my smile and I could still use that to my advantage, I could find another reason to exclude myself from the trouble Luther had placed me in and still get the brides out before seven days.

I ran to the gates and banged on it with great force, and one of the guards Immediately rushed to answer me.

“Tell the alpha that I need to talk to him, it’s very important and also critical.” I said with a voice that sounded more like I was in need of urgent attention, the guards stared at me for a while before reluctantly nodding.

“ I would do that but I doubt he would say anything to me.” The guard Said before leaving.

“I also doubt Alpha Damian would want to listen to your request as he is still very angry with you.” Susan said but I wasn't ready to give up on my chance to get to Damian.

I patiently waited for the guards to return and it didn’t take them too long and they returned but this time they didn’t knock but opened the door, I stood up and rushed to the door…the guard who I had sent walked into the cell room with a smile.

“Weirdly enough, he agreed to see you and he is in his study waiting for you.” The guard said, letting me out as I could hear the bride murmuring about how much they didn’t believe that Alpha Damian would actually realize me and if I was going to come back for them.

“I will be back guys, just have faith in me while I go talk to him.” I said to them before rushing to his study room as directed by the guards.

I stood in front of the door breathing heavily while I tried to calm myself down, I arranged my hair and placed a wide smile on my face and after being sure that I was calm… I raised my hand and knocked softly on the door.

“Come in.” He said to me, I made sure to be okay before opening the door and stepping in as he was busy with somes files, he looked so young like a young prince with the spec and he way the fell his hair on his face…but I was there to admire him, I cleared my throat before walking up to his desk…I was about to talk when his study room caught my attention, everything about the place was just so perfect and it seemed more like a bedroom in one side and the other a office and also looked like a library filled with books.

I turned to Alpha Damian who was now staring at me weirdly as he had already dropped the files and was now concentrated on me. I suddenly choked up on my own words, I didn’t know what to say or even remembered what I had planned to say.

“What do you want?” He questioned me.

“Your forgiveness.” I stuttered, he chuckled loudly before relaxing on his chair…his glare not leaving me for a second.

“So you finally learnt your mistakes?” He asked.

“Yes.” I murmured.

“But that was too soon I expected you to have taken a little while to enjoy yourself and think about why you shouldn’t disrespect me like you did.” He said, with those words he just said he soon stood up and was so close to me but i still tried to keep my act together.

He noticed I wasn’t saying anything and moved his face closer to mine while I began to feel uncomfortable and moved away but I had stood so close to the wall to avoid him and now he had me in his possession.

“Do you know how icy I felt when I hurted you?” He asked while I was just worrying my best to avoid his glares, he lifted my chin up so I would be staring into his eyes.

“No.” I stammered in response to his question, he soon smiled and moved even closer to me.

“I felt like a knife was stuck in my heart and as you cried in pain it hurts even more than you can imagine.”  He said to me but this time his full attention was on my lips .

“You are my right hand queen but yet you make me hurt you so much,” he said but it felt more like he was talking to himself than to me.

“I am sorry.” I said to him this time really meaning my apology.

“I already forgave you the minute the guard came to tell me you needed me.” He whispered his lips moving closer to mine as our nose slowly brushed past each other, why wasn’t I trying to resist his touch.. I always thought I hated him but I didn’t know what was wrong with him and why I couldn’t avoid his touch, like..like I was finding Alpha Damian attractive.

He smiled at the fact that I wasn’t pushing him away or acting weirdly, but I couldn’t understand myself even more as I stared at his lips.
