59. Keep Running

Isla's POV

The afternoon sun cast its warm glow across the landscape. Dario and I lay in the car's back seat, entwined in each other's arms, the remnants of our passionate lovemaking still lingering in the air.

“I want us to drive to the west wing of the forest at the back of our house,” he said as he kissed my forehead.

"Dario, what was this about going to the west wing?" I inquired as I let out a yawn, a hint of confusion and tiredness tingeing my voice.

"It was time to see your wolf in the daylight, without the moon's influence," Dario explained, his tone gentle yet firm. "And the healer would be bringing the potion later, so you'd need to make three runs."

I nodded, but my eyes threatened to betray my tiredness.

“Sleep, Isla, I'll drive us there. I'll wake you up when we get there.” Dario kisses me again as he puts on his shirt, goes to the driver's seat, and starts the car.

I looked at him lovingly, and then a wave of tiredness hit me like a wave and immediately fell asleep.
