63. It Is Time To Move On

Isla's POV

I stood alone amidst the towering trees of the forest. My gaze fixated on the spot where Dario's retreating figure had disappeared from view. Each step he took felt like a dagger through my heart, each movement widening the chasm between us until it felt insurmountable.

"This can't be happening," I mummer, feeling a wave of pain crash against my chest, threatening to engulf me in its suffocating embrace.

“What are you doing?” I heard Nima’s voice as she stirred in my subconscious. “Go after him, he's our mate. He belongs to us.” I wiped my tears as I contemplated Nima's words. “Thanks, Nima.” I thanked my wolf earnestly.

I refused to succumb to despair. With determination coursing through my veins, I chased after him, my steps fueled by the desperate hope that I could somehow bridge the chasm and reach him before it was too late.

I saw him entering the manor, and I rushed in with him, hoping to catch him and probably find a way of changing his mind about us. But
