23. Sneaking Off?

Isla’s POV

I didn’t believe in Brenda’s so-called girl’s night but the morning of the full moon. I had soaked myself in the bath with my all-time favourite lavender wash.

I spent long hours in the bathroom, pampering myself and washing my hair.

I decided to change my dress. Instead of wearing my usual gown filled with ruffles, I settled for a short mini-skirt, which I paired with a crop top. I packed my hair in a loose bun.

I felt chic. With my bag swung over my shoulders, I headed downstairs for breakfast. As usual, Dario wasn’t there, and so was Brenda. I was happy about that and wasn’t in the mood for any chit-chat this morning.

I didn’t really eat. I just grabbed the sandwiches and headed to the car. I was glad today was half a day, so I didn’t have to spend many hours sitting in a boring class.
