Dawn’s POV:
Tears streamed down my face and I winced when I was thrown to the floor like I was nothing but a rag doll. Pain shot up my spine from the impact of my body hitting the marble and I cried out in anguish. I was only distracted for a minute when my view came into focus and I realized that indeed I had been thrown into the lion’s den. Into that beast’s chamber, and there was practically nothing I could do about it. The place was luxurious and beautiful and had me gasping from the sheer beauty of it all. The entire interior decoration had been done in gray and white, from the furniture, the walls, even the curtains and the fluffy rug beside the bed. The only thing of a different color was the golden chandelier hanging high in the ceiling… but it screamed class. I couldn’t comprehend how just one person was able to acquire so much wealth but before I could let my thoughts stray into thinking about that, I remembered my plight. I needed to get out of here and I needed to find a way fast. Growing up, I heard stories, stories of what happened when Werewolves took humans into their territories and none of the stories I heard were good. While some were used as laborers, a few were turned into food… and some were sex slaves. I didn’t want my case to be like one of those and with that in mind, I rushed to my feet, dashed to the door and tried to pry it open. Unfortunately, it was locked. I tried several more times, crying hysterically when the door wouldn’t budge, and after about an eternity of trying, I slumped to the floor, wailing, hoping that somehow he would no longer find me useful and then he would let me go. This thought was all I had in mind, the only wish I made as I cried myself to sleep, oblivious to the agonizing screams coming from the dungeon several floors below. * I woke up with a start, peeling my eyes open when I heard the sound of footsteps close by. Sitting up, I was shocked to find a girl of about my age in the room holding up a dress and when she caught me watching her, she chuckled nervously and then came to squat in front of me. “Hi, I’m Selene and I’m sorry I woke you up but Alpha Xavier asked me to get you.” She said softly, eyeing my face. Oh, so his name is Xavier? “What is your name?” She asked me and when I still wouldn’t speak, she added; “I can’t waste his time more than I already have so you need to get up, you need to change into this dress… it’s his orders, not mine.” Still, I didn’t say a word. I didn’t even glance at the dress she was talking about. Selene’s countenance shifted and suddenly, I was no longer staring into the face of the pretty teenage-looking girl anymore. I was looking into the eyes of an enraged werewolf whose orbs seemed to be set ablaze with an emotion I was so used to now. Rage. I was also angry myself but in this case, there wasn’t much I could do; after all, I was only a human. Quickly scrambling to my feet, I eyed the dress just once before I shed off the clothes I had been wearing and threw it over my head. All these while, Selene’s gaze did not leave my body once. She combed my hair and after styling it into a ponytail, she began to tug at my arm, pushing me in the direction of the door, and oh boy, her grip was like stone. Very hard and impossible to shake off. She led me downstairs to a room that was so wide and beautiful, it looked like it was straight out of a movie, and then suddenly, she turned to whisper to me; “I like you, I really do, so I’ll tell you this just once… whatever happens in there, behave yourself. My brother can be a monster when he wants to and I wouldn’t like it if you were brought out of there several minutes later as a corpse.” Her not-so-subtle warning made a sudden shiver run up my spine. I wanted to thank her for the advice, to let her know that I appreciated her efforts even though she didn’t do anything for me but I couldn’t. Instead, I simply said; “My name is Dawn.” She seemed taken aback for a second and when she recovered, she flashed a smile at me. I was just about to smile back when we arrived in front of a large double door, she pushed the door open and just then, another hand, bigger and rougher this time wrapped itself around my arm. I winced at the impact. “Thank you, princess,” the gruff voice called out to her and just like that, she disappeared down the hallway. It was then that her words registered in my mind. She was the princess. The stupid arrogant Alpha was her brother! Before I could get to ponder over the weirdness of the last few minutes of my life, I was led into a small dimly lit room that was painted all in red. The ambiance screamed wealth, but at the same time, it looked dangerous. Too dangerous. It made me shiver from fear. From the distance, I could hear voices, the voices of men that spoke too loudly. They sounded like they were in a business meeting… up until I heard Alpha Xavier’s voice loud and clear. “I know that it’s not every time that vampires and werewolves get to deal, Don, and to seal the deal, I have come with a peace offering, a blood bank. Take it as a treaty. She’s my most recent prisoner and has never been fed off before but while you go at it, please do not drain her clean.” I stopped walking. Of all the things I had thought he wanted to do to me, this was not one of them. My heart hammered in my chest painfully as tears began to stream down my face immediately. I hated this. I hated that I was in this situation, and worst of all, I hated that that arrogant prick was my mate. Obviously, he was doing all of these to spite me. He probably felt the mate bond and was disgusted by it, he was irritated because I am a human girl and that is why he decided to punish me this way. I couldn’t stop crying and the soldier, the one who held me, didn't stop dragging me toward the room despite my reluctance. “That sounds like a lovely treaty!” Another voice rang out, another voice that sounded so familiar but I was too scared to pay attention. “Indeed, it is…” Alpha Xavier announced, and with a smile in his voice, he added; “…and she’s here!” As we neared the room, I closed my eyes. I prayed that I would just drop dead right now just so that I would never get to experience the feeling of having someone’s fangs sinking into my skin. However, my prayers were not answered. I didn't even get the chance to start praying as the soldier suddenly shoved me into a room with so much force that I fell to the floor. My breath hitched. My heart stopped beating. I wouldn’t even open my eyes. A minute passed and so did several more minutes, and after what felt like an eternity, I slowly pried my eyes open. I glanced up carefully, gasping when I was met with three sets of beautiful eyes. Two out of the three called out that word I have grown to abhor so much now; “Mate!” And while one was Zade, my sweet vampire from the other day, the other was someone else, someone I had never seen in my life. From his facial features, it was obvious that he was a werewolf but he didn’t exude so much power like Alpha Xavier did. … And Alpha Xavier, the worst of them all, was standing in a corner, fuming and confused. I was confused too.Dawn's POV "What...is going on?" I asked, as my eyes moved from Alpha Xavier's to Zade's to the stranger's. Zade looked a bit amused to see me there, it was as if he knew that we were still going to meet again after our last encounter. The stranger stood up and started walking towards me, with his eyes not leaving mine. I looked away from him, and stared at Alpha Xavier, waiting for some kind of answer but he just stood there and...watched. Zade did too. "Mate," the stranger said again, but this time, he was barely two feet away from me. He crouched down, and placed two fingers under my chin, raising my head to meet his gaze. "My name is Ryan. What's your name, mate?" He asked. His deep voice rang in my head, and I struggled to form a word. I gulped down, and managed to say my name. He nodded and helped me get up. I didn't know what to do. It was so funny how I went from being a very normal human to having...three mates now? Especially those who'd kill me in a heartbeat.
Alpha Xavier's POV After pacing around for five minutes, I finally stopped to think. With my recent prisoner in a room just a few feet away from me, I just couldn't sleep, even when I wanted to. There was definitely something about her. I have tried ignoring it, but it's still there. By this time tomorrow, the Don, Zade, would have made his decision and she might finally be his. That was the plan, but did I want that? The mere presence of my prisoner annoyed me but still, I wanted it so badly. "Fuck!" I cursed, as I found myself strolling towards the door, going to meet Dawn. I twisted the knob, and opened the door but I was stopped before I could step in. "What are you doing here?" I asked Cassidy, as she stared at me wide eyed. I knew that look. When it came from her, it only meant one thing. "What do you mean, alpha Xavier? Or, do I dare say Xavier?" She asked in a soft tone, one she only used when she wanted me. I averted my gaze from her, and took a step forw
Dawn's POV As Zade’s and my lips glided against each other’s, soft moans escaped my lips. I wrapped my hands around his neck, and bent my head a little to make it deeper. I softly rubbed the back of his neck, as I continued moaning into his mouth. For a split second, I pulled out of the kiss to catch my breath, but he pulled me closer, and took my bottom lip into his. When I pulled out of the kiss, I noticed that his eyes were a very dark shade of red. It looked scary, but surprisingly, I wasn't scared at all. In fact, it looked sexy to me and at that moment, I wanted him so bad. I wanted him to use more than his lips to explore every part of my body. Heat radiated from my body, and a pool of sweat gathered on my forehead. But my forehead wasn't the only part that was wet. Without thinking, I took his hand and guided it down, in between my thighs. It was so warm and wet and the thought of his cold finger slipping in and out of me even made me wetter. He slipped my pa
Dawn's POV When I got to the door of the guest room, I stood in front of it and was about to hold the knob when it suddenly opened with Zade standing right there. "How-" I started asking but stopped when I remembered that he was a vampire lord. I nodded at him, and walked into the room. It was so bright and well arranged and the bed looked more than comfortable. "The bed looks comfy," I subconsciously said, as I ran my hands through the soft cotton sheet. "Do you want to sleep on it now, or you would have a shower before?" He asked, and sat on the edge of the bed. The question hung in the air, as I hadn't thought about it. Sleeping without having a shower was something that I had never done before, back at my house when things were still normal. But now, nothing was normal. In the last 48 hours, I had made out with a vampire lord without getting biten, and I had two other werewolves as my mates. In fact, I was probably the only human in a house filled with so many pe
Dawn’s POV:I pushed my hands deeper into my pockets as the winter wind blew against my face, biting into my pale skin. I winced when it blew again, almost peeling off my chapped lips. My full ginger red hair was tied into a ponytail in the way I liked it and my attention was drawn to the massive black mansion which stood high into the sky like something straight from a horror movie.I hated winter. It was the time when the vampires ravaged the city the most. It was their season… one that was just as cold as they were.To them, we humans were nothing but slaves… or food. They ruled by night, while the shifters, mostly the werewolves, ruled by day. That was the new reality of earth ever since the fourth world war.“Dawn!” A voice cut through my thought, forcing me to turn in its direction. From a distance, I saw my friend, Autumn, waving at me with her long wavy hair floating around her as the wind blew at her.“Autumn!” I yelled back,“C’mon, you can’t stand there all day. It’s gettin
Dawn’s POV:I was wrong. The thing came after me. Growing up, we had always been educated with the implications of coming out at night… worst of all, full moon nights. It was one rule I never intended to break. Until Logan happened tonight. As I ran, I couldn’t help but look around, hoping to see Logan or something, anything that could lead me to him but I didn’t, and it made me panic even more. I suddenly felt a gush of wind from behind me but before I could comprehend what was happening, I was running headfirst into a wall. Wincing, I staggered backward and held my throbbing head in my hands. However, I gasped when I realized to my absolute dismay that it wasn’t a wall. It was a person. A person whose eyes were glowing a fiery red.My breath hitched in my throat and my body trembled when I slowly raised my gaze to meet that of this person and I couldn’t help but worry that maybe, just maybe this was my end.He had the handsomest face I had ever seen with a chiseled jawline, high s
Dawn’s POV:It’s been a few days since my encounter with Zade, the vampire and ever since, I couldn’t help but feel like I was being watched.True to his words, he had helped me look for Logan whom we found at a ditch, crying out his lungs and looking all scared and bloody. Zade says that it was a miracle that other vampires hadn’t reached that ditch first or he would have been steak by the end of the day.Mother, on the other hand, always asked me how I found Logan and how we both made it out alive but I couldn’t tell her the truth. Zade had forced me into promising him to keep my mouth sealed.Damn, I sound like a teenage schoolgirl in love with my constant Zade this, Zade that nowadays. It was only a shame that I couldn’t tell anyone else about him.Pushing thoughts of the striking vampire out of my mind, I stepped into the room with about fifteen people scrambling about looking for a seat. Autumn was right beside me and she seemed like she was just as lost in thought as I was.Ju
Dawn’s POV:Mate. The word rang over and over in my head, causing a small headache to begin to form at the back of my head. Despite being human, I knew exactly what that meant. I knew that it meant that I was in a way connected to him… or to use their terms, I was fated to him or something.“This is impossible!” He muttered under his breath, and then glancing at me again, he spat; “I don’t want this!”My breath hitched in my chest from the blatant rejection but he still didn’t let me go. Instead, his fingers dug deeper into my arms until beads of blood had begun to pool under his nails as he turned his attention to the blonde woman who I had initially thought was the boss.“Who are these people?” He spat at her, sounding almost disgusted to be in the same space as us. Almost. The woman regarded us with a frown that I never knew was possible on that pretty face of hers and after beaming a fake smile at us, she rushed out; “they’re humans… laborers. They were part of the people who clea
