The Informant

Addison’s POV

I opened my eyes when I heard my cell phone ringing very loudly. I raised my body to a sitting position and searched for the smart object that I forgot where I put it. My right hand flailed on the bed, looking for the smart object. The call was still ringing loudly, and I was finally able to get to it under my pillow.

The first thing I saw was Hayden's name on my phone screen. I quickly picked up the call, which I thought must be good information, considering our conversation a while ago. "Hello?"

"Addison, sorry if I disturbed you so early in the morning."

I smiled slightly at Hayden's voice, who felt reluctant to me. "Oh, that's okay. I happened to have woken up an hour ago." I lied a little about it because I didn't want him to feel guilty for calling me so early in the morning.

"Really? So my call didn't disturb your morning?" Hayden asked again to make sure.
