Confusing Circumstances

Addison’s POV

I opened my eyes and smiled when I saw Hayden standing not far from the bed. Then, I felt something grasping my hand. Was it Dad? However, when I looked down to get a better look, it wasn't Dad but Damon. That, of course, surprised me a lot.

Hayden just looked at me without wanting to come closer to me, so I knew the man who was holding my fingers was Damon. Shouldn't Hayden be angry?

"Why is that man here?" I asked Hayden while pointing at Damon. However, Hayden remained silent and said nothing at all.

Suddenly, Damon raised his head and smiled at me. "Addison."

I looked at him in astonishment. How could Dad and Hayden let him be here? I looked back at Hayden, and he was still staring at me silently and showing no signs of preventing Damon.
