The captain gave a courteous bow to lady Karilaya, making her giggle. The two had just finished discussing something and were now saying their farewells.
Just from afar, Soraya had remained watching seeing as how the two had been always seeing each other these past few days. When they finally parted it was then that the female soldier decided to approach her lady.
“My lady,” Soraya quickly bows to the woman, placing her hand on her chest as a sign of respect.
Karilaya was startled when she saw her soldier waiting there in the hall, quickly removing the smile and cheer off her face.
“Soraya, have you been there long?” she asks a bit taken aback by being seen like that with the captain.
“No, my lady,” Soraya just remained lowering her head in order not to embarrass her lady.
The princess quickly fixes herself and puts on a sm
“Are you all right, my lady,” the captain asked as he reached out to her while she was about to step into the carriage.“Oh, yes,” Karilaya quickly smiled at the man and just continued her stepping inside. The captain remained by the door of the carriage, taking a good look at the lady who seemed a bit no herself, as she would turn silent every now and then.“I heard you collapsed yesterday, are you perchance not feeling well or maybe you are lacking sleep, my lady, you know you can take a rest any time you want,” the man reminds her, worry etched onto his face as he examined her further. There was a sudden jolt of tingling sensation in Karilaya’s hand that quickly made her clench her fist, as she was reminded of the cause of it. She could still feel that surge of energy that invaded her the night before. It was like her energy was overflowing and she was hav
Captain Maxwell was still busy ordering the guard to make a perimeter and secure the whole area. That was why he was suddenly caught by surprise when the carriage arrived, and its doors flew open, releasing a lady clad in a white gown.“Captain, I need to talk to you,” The lady did not waste any time saying when she finally got to him.Gazing at their surroundings, there were already shadows lurking around them within the broken-down buildings and some within the alleys.“My lady, it is still not safe to come out here, so if you will just go back in the carriage first,” he tries to coax her to go back, gently nudging her to return to the carriage. But the woman just frowned at him with a sharp look in her eyes. She shrugs his hand to face him. Maxwell ended up sighing as the other two women alighted the carriage to follow their lady.“I am quit
As Karilaya lost her balance and was slowly falling to her knees, all she could do was pray and scream in her mind for everyone to flee and hide. The fight was a lost cause and there was no point for them to even stay there. It was the only reason why she ended up using her magic, even though she knew it may end up becoming the end of her.Within her mind, she still did not regret having healed everyone and give them a blessing that will be able to improve their chances of escaping, now all she was asking for was for everyone to run.“My lady,” She heard a deep yet caring muffled voice within her head along with the familiar voices around her.Large, strong, and warm arms then instantly cradled her, keeping her from completely falling face flat on the ground. No longer having any strength left after what had happened, all she could do was let herself be carried off, as she was still trying to rega
They’d arrive at the castle at half the time from before because of the captain's efforts, along the way she had managed to tell the concerns of the maids that have been plaguing her mind, along with some other problems that she knew needed some attention.Karilaya had been thinking of the other repercussions that might happen all because of the things that had recently happened, she was sure there was something that she was missing along the way. The problem is she couldn’t really see what it was.“Do not worry about the guards, my lady, I will immediately look into it,” The captain informs her as he was dismounting from his steed. They had just arrived at the castle but were still waiting for all the knights, the only people that were behind them was the carriage that carried nana and Soraya. She could not help but look past the man, trying to see what was behind him, trying to see what happened
‘And once the fireth cometh knoweth yond thee shall suffer the same fate as the people thee ruleth.’Tapping her fingers on those words that she had written, she was still unable to find anything that was related to the said quote. There was also only one book that had mentioned it, but the hard part was finding something that had a similar book that actually explained what was happening and was able to tell more about the said quote, something that was clearer and more reliable than the riddle. The words themselves would not leave Karilaya, keeping her awake every night, knowing that it was something of grave importance to stop the nearing doom of their kingdom. The princess rubbed her forehead from the ache in her head from all that thinking. Added the fact that she only had a glimpse of what was happening with her premonition. There wasn’t much to go with right now, especially since she wasn’t
Voices were silenced within the entire room, no one dared usher a word, only the metallic tapping on the throne wooden arm could be heard as the prince's face remained crumpled from frowning. His eyes were still glaring as he stays still, keeping his gaze at the window, looking outside.Lord Slog just ended up swallowing hard, feeling the lump on his throat as he kept getting glances from the commander. The two have been silently communicating to one another this whole time, still thinking of what to say since they did not want to further increase their liege’s anger.“Sire,” The old man finally broke the silence and lowered his head to his prince. The Black Knight slowly turned his head to look at the man who was already kneeling before him. Yet with that, the man just remained quiet and continued to tap on his throne.Lord Slog cleared his throat before speaking once more. “
An array of fruits, pastries, dishes were covering the whole table almost making Karilaya feel overwhelmed just by looking at it.Karilaya had been staring for quite some time, not moving as she still did not feel comfortable being in front of the man. The prince was only wearing a black tunic, embellished with gold and silver, and a red shoulder cape. The thin cloth properly displayed the full, well-fit form, and large frame of his body, showing that he was truly a man honed by battle. From his well-defined chest to his bulging arms that were both being hidden before by his plated armor. His full face was uncovered, showing his dragon form which was the only thing that fascinated Karilaya at that moment, since she could not help but worry, even more, knowing that a man such as the prince having such physical and magical superiority would easily be taken down.“Do you not like the food, my lady?” The prince t
Karilaya felt a bit of the weight on her shoulders lighten. Seeing as one by one the townspeople were being released from their ropes and set free from their cages. She along with nana and Soraya stood firm, keeping an eye on the imperial soldiers, making sure that they didn’t do any more harm to the beaten-down men. Several of them were barely able to stand up, forcing some of the imperial soldiers to carry them towards the safe space that she asked for.Just within the gardens, several blankets were set up, along with some tents that had food, water, bandages, and medicine.“My lady, this is madness, you are marching to your death!” Soraya could not help but scold her lady. The woman was in rage right now, after hearing what had intervened during their late night dinner, even she couldn’t shake off the feeling of anger she still had. Feeling so belittled and cornered at that time. She wasn
As Karilaya proved she could handle basic politics and affairs of the land, she gained the head advisers, along with the magical council’s favor, being dubbed as the true empress of the Draconian Empire. And they state it in the imperial rule. She took over all of Alexander’s duties, allowing the man to focus on raising their sons. The man taught the boys everything he knew, from combat, control their forms, and learning the ways of their kind.A year more had passed, and they were finally ready to proceed with her coronation.Having healed from all of their wounds, Karilaya finally agreed to marry the emperor, which puts them in their current situation. With the land no longer tormented by the changing weather, the people at peace, and the kingdom once again flourishing. It was now time to go to the western lands to have her crowned and legitimatized as the sole wife of t
The people felt a bit more at ease with the empire; they no longer had any qualms, especially after everybody found out that their princess was now the empress and would still be the one to rule them. She lowered the taxes enough for all of them to get by, not just for their area but also for the entire western continent that was under them, so that it wouldn’t cause too much strain on everyone.Trading between the west and their lands went on smoothly, allowing more products to come back and forth.“Good morning your majesty!”People greeted as they walk pass by them. Karilaya waved at them in reply. She and the others were currently viewing the restoration of the old kingdoms’ fields. After they had cleared the trees, the earth was now being plowed to prepare it for farming. Everyone was helping, including a few of th
Having control over all the things in the kingdom, it didn’t take long before Karilaya had finally turned matters around.Repairs on the capital were going smoothly. All the previous actions she wanted to be done, like the re-aligning of the seals within the entire city, were no longer an issue, since fear of using her magic did not restrain her.It was the reason she now felt it was the right time to proceed with restoring their lands to how it was.“Your majesty, are you sure it will be safe to remove the coven from their bonds this instant?” the old adviser asks. The man was with her, together with her own guards, since she sent the others to handle things around the kingdom for this momentous day.“Yes, mistress Moryana and the headmaster are already in place. I stationed Kirei and everyone else in each village outside to make su
In just two days, that was all it took for the combined might of the imperial army and Aselaysian soldiers to rally up every single person who Soraya has pointed out to be instigating a rebellion into their hands.Facing them now was lord Sander Lee. Face broken, bloody, and full of tears. The man was groveling in front of Karilaya, who was on the throne beside the Draconian emperor. She moves to her side in order to get closer to the Alexander. “Did you beat them to death?” she whispers to him.Seeing how beaten and wounded the old lords were, she could not help but feel a bit of remorse for letting the man handle things.“No,” he shrugs.“Then why do they look like that?” she points out.Lord Sander Lee’s face was so inflated that he was unrecognizable, while some could no longer keep themselv
“Why do you doubt him?” It was the childish little voice that whispered in her mind. She was currently contemplating with the Horomid all the while looking out into the palace’s terrace. She wanted to get at least an insight from her guardian spirits about what to do, knowing that somehow they may clear her thoughts.“Because he has lied to me before. And I am afraid that all of this is but another farce,” she says.Feeling that ache inside her chest, still fearing that the man might betray her again.“Did you also not deceive him?” the sweet female voice whispered.Karilaya could not help but grumble. “I did that to protect myself.”“What makes your mistake more forgivable than his? A lie is a lie no matter how you make it,” the annoying spirit mocked, letting out a laugh after.
After finally having time for themselves, all Alexander would do was to cuddle and hug her. The man clung to her the moment they got returned to their room. Cooing and giving her kisses on the neck.“Your Majesty, you need to rest,” she scolds. Feeling his hands wandering all over her body. They were already in bed, getting ready to sleep after tucking the boys into their rooms. Her back was facing him, so he was spooning her while they laid on there.“I have plenty of strength reserved just for you,” Alexander cooed in her ears. She felt herself shiver, sensing that ticklish jolt inside of her. His hands were already touching those sensual areas of her. Playfully rubbing his fingers on her skin.“Alex!” she hissed, slapping off his hand, feeling him pinching some of her sensitive parts.“Come on, Kaya. I promise I wo
They caught Lord Drake by surprise upon their arrival. Making his uncle gape in disbelief at seeing her lady with him at that moment. He kept looking at him with questioning looks, asking for why he’d let the woman be there.“Your majesty, I do not think this is safe,” He says.Alexander almost laughed, cause he knew that his beloved was very much capable of handling herself in there, having removed her restraints and all.“Uncle, have you not met her yet? Or have you forgotten the mother of my children?” He smirks at the man, trying to give him the idea of who he was with. But before lord Drake could even recognize his lady, Kaya had already done a curtsy in front of him.“It’s a pleasure to meet you, lord Galford Drake. I have to commend that your men are quite the formidable opponents on the battlefield that even I wasn’t able to
Tired, wounded, and starving, Alexander still kept watch over his sons. He could tell by their breathing that all of them were still awake. Resting, planning, and waiting for the right time to strike.“Your majesty, it would be best if you take this time to rest up.” Lord Drake says. His uncle had finished tying up Giro. After he had broken free a while ago. It’s the second time within the day which was making him frustrated. He never thought it would be that hard to keep the boys in check with his power, but seeing as he couldn’t go all out on his children for fear of harming them just made it more difficult.“I’m good, uncle.”He took that time to take a rest, sitting on the floor in front of the boy’s cell. Munching on the bread that the servants brought a while ago.Though he wanted to eat meat, the smell of it always ended up w
Soraya kept her senses sharp. Looking around, all the while keeping her gaze on the knights who stood guarding them. She could not understand why they were suddenly being taken care of like that. They healed their wounds, gave back their weapons and armor. They even fed them to where they were all satisfied. They also mixed the captive villagers with their soldiers, making them look like a bunch of cattle being herded inside the outer castle. She knew that all of it had to have a reason and it was not just for show nor for their so-called friendly gesture. She’d hardly consider them having any, experiencing how cruel and barbaric they were. There was something behind of it all which she could not put her foot on it.It alerted Soraya seeing the soldiers move in a straight line, posing at the ready when they saw a line of well-dressed people coming their way.
