As they approached Lily's apartment, the cool night air did little to quell the heat between them. Lily's fingers trembled slightly as she reached for the door, hyper-aware of Caspian's presence behind her.

"Wait," she said, turning to face him. "I need to adjust the wards."

Caspian raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. "Wards against vampires? I'm wounded, Little Witch."

Lily rolled her eyes, trying to ignore the way her heart fluttered at his teasing tone. "Standard precaution. Now hush, I need to concentrate."

She closed her eyes, drawing on her inner power. The air around them seemed to thicken as she wove intricate patterns with her fingers, muttering incantations under her breath. Caspian watched, fascinated, as faint glimmers of light danced around her hands.

"Fascinating," he murmured. "You're changing your protection spells just to let me in. I'm flattered."

Lily's concentration wavered. "It's not funny," she hissed, elbowing him lightly. "Shut up, I

She inhaled deeply, savouring the rich scent that promised to chase away the lingering drowsiness from her late night with Caspian. As she waited in line, she caught sight of her reflection in the polished espresso machine - her fiery hair slightly mussed, a faint purple mark just visible above her collar. Heat rose to her cheeks."The usual, Lily?" asked the barista, eyeing her curiously."Yes, please," Lily replied, her voice raspier than normal. She cleared her throat. Lily exhaled slowly, focusing on the task at hand. The air was thick with the scent of herbs and magic, mingling with Caspian's intoxicating presence. She reached for a vial of shimmering yellow liquid, carefully measuring it into smaller containers."What's that one for?" Caspian asked, his curiosity evident despite his restraints."It's a mood enhancer," Lily replied, her voice steadier now. "Helps with anxiety, depression... general emotional balance.”"Fascinating," he murmured. "And does it work on vampires?"Lily paused, considering. "I'm... not sure. We don't typically get on with your kind so I also don’t cater to vampires."As she corked the last vial, her phone suddenly erupted with a shrill ring.
