Chapter 11

    Veronica opened her eyes slowly and saw herself on her bed.

"How did I get here?." She said as she tried to remember, but just makes her head ache more. Then it finally clicked.

"Derek--!"

She said as she got up from the bed, ignoring the head ache, opened the door and went out of her room, with one destination....

   She reached Derek's room door and knocked every so gently, waiting patiently for a response.

"Come in."

    Veronica opened the door slightly and peeped through the door frame. She sighted Justin and an old woman, who was the seer and then to Derek on the bed with his eyes shut.

"Enter and close the door behind you."

"You are up, how are you feeling?." Justin asked.

"Okay, just a slight head ache. Who is she?" Veronica said pointing to the old woman in a Magyar.

"Hmm, she is our seer. Something like a fortune teller and also a medical practitioner who treats supernatural." Justin said.

"To you like a shaman." Justin added.

"Okay....nice to meet you." Veronica said in her nicest tone with her hand stretched out for a shake.

"Nice to meet you too." She said as she takes Veronica's hand in a brief shake.

"I am ver---" Veronica said but gets cut off before she could finish up.

"Veronica. I know." She said with a smile. Exposing some missing teeth.

"Oh, not surprised, you are a seer." Veronica said with a smile.

"Okay, now we know each other. Let's get to the problem." Justin said.

"That's true, what us wrong with Derek. I can't remember perfectly. All I know is that someone shot something like black shards into Derek." Veronica said.

"Yes that's true. It was the Balian's leader, Sebastian. I knew it was all a trick but the king didn't listen. He has dark magic, plus he is a very strong vampire. He shot black shards into Derek. I don't know the name but it will transform him into a zombie, controlled by him... Derek is in much trouble. I was able to subdue it's speed but within three days he will be a total monster." She said.

"Oh, no. What are we to do." Veronica said in a concerned tone.

"You are his mate. He needs your blood as fast as possible. He has to release his full vampire strength and he will be able to fight it. Because right now he is weak, his immunity is very low. He haven't had blood of a human for years. So if you really care about him, you have to help him." She said.

" Justin let's go. Give her some space to decide." She said as she left the room with Justin.

     Veronica moved to Derek bed side and sat down at the edge next to him. She touched his forehead with her palm and wondered why he was so cold. Derek opened his eyes slowly at the contact of her skin on his.

"Why is your hand on my forehead?." Derek said in a weak tone.

"I was checking your temperature, you seem to be very cold than before." Veronica answered.

"I was always cold. You never just noticed." Derek said.

"I heard your situation. I am so sorry, I was all my fault. I should have stickied to you all through the party." Veronica said trying very hard to stop the tears which were already forming.

"Yeah it is your fault but there is no need to feel bad. If I was concentrating I could have dodged it. And besides that I chose to save you. All you have to think about is the solution." Derek said.

"....I will do it. But I want to know who I really am and how I became your mate and why you kidnapped me." Veronica said crossing her arms under her chest.

"Okay I will tell you. No interruptions.

You are the daughter of the former emperor of our clan, who is dead now. Your dad fell in love with your mom, who was human and that fact is forbidden. And worst, they gave birth to you. Because,if a vampire and a human breed together they will produce a blood sucking monster like you. Very strong and powerful. The necklace you are wearing is called an ancient lock.

It helps to subdue the real you. The blood sucking monster you, your double personality. That was why your mom told you to never remove it. Your dad tried hiding you but his adviser,who is Sebastian our clan greatest enemy.  And the one who put me in this situation. He told everyone and they killed him and that was why he left you. He never abandoned you and your mother. Your mother knew but didn't want to hurt your feelings at a very young age. He also wanted to kill your mother but she always ran and saved you but one day ,she wasn't so lucky. They killed her and bribed and threatened the doctor to say that she died of a disease.

....I have been searching for my mate to break my vegetarian fast, which I was tricked into my Sebastian. I looked in the vampire realm, the Balian's realm, and I finally found you in the human realm. I have been watching you ever since then. I first time you saw me was in the grocery store which you worked, before I made you get fired. I did that because the owner's son wanted to take advantage of you that night along with his friends. I over heard them discussing about you anytime I passed by. And that day I decided to make you leave the store. I exchanged the calculator with on which was incorrect, and made you get into trouble with your boss. And you ended up getting fired.

....I also intentionally dropped my phone down so as to waste your time because I wanted to talk with you. I always heard followed you everywhere and I always heard you cursing at me because you hated me.

.... The night I kidnapped you, someone wanted to kidnap you. I saved you and injured this bastard, and I brought you here. And that was when I knew who you really were and your background story.

are you satisfied now."

Derek said as he took a deep breath.

"Wow, so am also a vampire but worst than you guys because I am a mixture of human and vampire." Veronica said.

"...and the real me has been locked up for years and I finally set her free yesterday. Don't tell me I killed a lot of people." Veronica added.

"Yep, about thirty and almost one, but I stopped you and wore your chain back." Derek said.

"Eww, I feel gross." Veronica said sticking out her tongue.

"Now I told you, can I drink your blood." Derek said.

"Yes, but Derek is it going to hurt?" Veronica said.

"Yeah, a little." Derek answered.

"That's what they all say. Even nurses lying to children that injection will not hurt." Veronica said rolling her eyes.

"Eh, whatever."  Derek said as he dragged her on the bed and turned over her.

     Derek put her hair behind her ears and turned her neck to the right side.

    Veronica closed her eyes and held the bed spread tightly. Derek moved closer to her neck, inhaled the sweet smell coming from her. He brought out his fangs and then bit her on her neck.

  The pain of his fangs in her neck was unbearable, but she managed to hold herself from shouting. She bit her lower lips hard and waited for this pain to end.

   He sucked her blood and gulped it down his throat. The feeling he felt was very nice, he didn't want to stop.

  Veronica opened her eyes and saw that Derek has gotten lost in sucking her blood.

" Derek, Derek stop now. I don't feel so good. You are draining me." Veronica said in a low tone, but Derek was totally lost in the sweetness of her blood.

"Derek!!"Veronica shouted.

   Derek opened his eyes and removed his fangs from her neck and licked the rushing blood from her neck dry, before licking his lips.

"I feel dizzy." Veronica said looking at Derek weakly.

"You will be okay." Derek said in a reassuring voice as he watched her eyes close slowly and soon he also feel unconscious.
